- Huel announced the Mac and Cheeze pasta Hot and Savoury this year, and it was hugely requested to do a review. So I filmed it and they released two further pasta editions days after I filmed it, just before christmas - Cajun Pasta and Chick'n and Mushroom. So I thought it'd be best to combine all three into one video, covering all the pasta editions. Will Hot and Savoury keep me full? Does Huel Pasta taste good? Is the Huel Mac and Cheeze nice? Let's find out.

2:00 exactly. A nice, easily trackable, convenient and not gross tasting baseline of Huel allows me to spend time cooking a meal I'm actually proud of when I do cook.
Using it like this is a big boost in mental health to be honest. ESPECIALLY for single, busy, (adhd) people like me.
Too many dishes, decisions and time spent grocery shopping if I don't use Huel at all. Which easily makes me succumb to the take-out lifestyle which can literally kill you.
And then comes the uncertainty about the nutrition I'm eating and brief periods of just giving up on cooking all-together.
The other day I had a mac n cheese and two of the vanilla shakes and then in the evening because my day of eating had been so convenient I made a really great panini that I took my time on.
Such convenience and ease and I know that I was at just around 2200 calories for the day which is perfect for me.
the mac and cheese is so damn good I use waaay more water then they call for and let it sit longer ill add onion powder garlic salt and some chopped up dried pepper and its so good

chicken mushroom...jsut add some tyson fully cooked breast chunks with a side of fresh tomato and a dinner roll with a lite beer...filling and healthy with little prep
I make my mac & cheese in a bowl - 2 scoops, about 350 mls boiling water, microwave for 4 - 5 minutes. Stir well and let sit for a few minutes. Perfect.

Watched this while eating my Mac n Cheeze for the first time. I was not expecting to enjoy it as i'm not a big fan of 'normal' mac n cheeze but by eck its a beauty! Tried all 3 of the new pasta flavours now and they will definately be replacing my usual H&S porridge :) Great review and I agree with most of your findings especially the lack of 'Huel' flavour 👍👍 On a side note I was sent 2 bags of cajun instead of the one of each I ordered, the missing bag was replaced FOC after a couple of emails confirming my order and in my opinion you cant beat that for customer service (other than getting the order right in the first place, but hey we're all human)
You’re right - the customer service is amazing - and I agree, it’d be better if mistakes weren’t made in the first place, but the fact they can rectify so fast and so well is definitely a plus!
I find it's better to mix the water quantity by eye with these. Add a bit at a time, leave it too thick to start with and add more if I need to. Also find that not using a metal spoon helps keep it hotter longer and makes the pasta less aldente

Is the pea protein flavor obvious in any of the Huel meal replacement products? I am not vegan, but I am looking for something convenient with decent macros that is easily trackable for busy days. I’ve tried other high protein mac and cheese products that I could hardly finish a serving of due to the pea protein taste.
I’m slightly confused; using the huel pot, the line for water is 400ml, or is that supposed to be 200ml if you add the powder first? Think I’ve been making huel with twice the amount of water I should have been all this time 🤣
Perfect Mac n Cheeze. Negative weight scale technique to measure out 102g. 280ml water poured in. Microwave with top covered 2 minutes. Take it out and stir. 2 minutes again with the lid. Take it out and stir, cover with lid for 8 minutes minimum. Pasta will never be aldente and always come out creamy. Perfect Mac n Cheeze.
My delivery of the two new pasta flavours arrived today, so was interesting to see what you thought. My personal order of preference for all the other hot and savouries is
=1 Madras -I like spicy food
=1 Mac & Cheeze -pasta texture ftw
=3 Mexican chilli -spicy, good texture
=3 Sweet & Sour
5 Thai Green curry -loved it at first, but just not enough spice for me. I suppose I could try adding a little extra green curry paste.
6 Tomato & Herb -tasty enough, but leaves me with an unpleasant taste for hours afterwards, which I think is down to the garlic, a shame.
7 Korma - again, I loved it at first, but its just not spicy enough for me. 🤷♀️
I'm looking forward to trying the new flavours, and hope they will go near the top of the list, as I bought 3 bags of each!!
The US version of Madras("spicy" indian curry) definitely isn't all that spicy, is it different in the UK?

I personally am very fond of the macaroni, I haven't tried the other flavors of pasta yet. The non pasta huel hot and savory flavours, are definitely in the porridge catagory and most flavors actually taste better blended with another flavor for some reason.

In the end the only flavor so far that I really really liked Mexican Chili, and ironically I don't even like beans. But those dried little beans they had were actually quite tasty. Thai Green and Tomato & Herbs are better together than the sum of its parts - just try one scoop each for a single meal and you'll know what I mean. Sweet & Sour is probably my second favorite out of unmixed flavors, perhaps even topping Mexican - anyway it's the one I ordered in addition to the two new pasta-based flavors which I'll also be checking out very soon. Hope they end up being good!
Most of the hot and savory flavours seem to be better when blended then the sum of their parts, it is sortove like they all have a slightly unbalanced flavor ratio in different ways that results in most combinations being really good. I don't particularly like coconut, so the Thai green curry doesn't taste all that great to me no matter what I blend it with.
stouffers prices are going crazy so i ordered a bunch of this today.. im sure ill miss stouffers but this is probably healthier...
Nice video. I.have h and s for most evening meals. Pimp the chilli with some tortilla chips, the curry with a naan bread an the mac n cheeze with some garlic bread.
So far Ive tried Mac n cheeze, Korma, and Cajun pasta.
I liked the Mac n cheeze best, but I find you need about 50% extra water, and let it stand for atleast 15 min. After that I add black pepper and frozen peas and stir around. It becomes a very cozy meal everything considered.
Cajun was 'ok', but a little floury in the consistency.
The Korma was the worst of the bunch, just a very boring and chewey composition.
Going to try the Chicken Mushroom pasta next!

Hi Heather - it’s very difficult to just post a picture on UA-cam - I’m sure their website has all the info required, but it’s 400 calories per serving (200 per scoop)

As of writing this, we do not have the new pasta flavors (chicken & mushroom, and cajun pasta) in the U.S. But we have all of the other flavors, including the Mac & Cheeze. I have found that I really like all of the flavors, except the sweet & sour. I don’t know what’s in it that doesn’t work for me, but it’s genuinely inedible to me. It’s so weird, because from watching videos and reading comments most people seem to like it. Of the few flavors my wife has tried so far, it was her favorite! And yet somehow it is just horrible to me.
I’m sure some people will think I’m ruining the “point” of Huel when I do this, but I tend sprinkle some salt and MSG on most flavors. I’m not personally worried about my salt intake so I don’t mind the salt, and the MSG does what MSG does best and adds a savory depth that I quite like. I also will add 1/2 cup or a full cup of pre-cooked rice or vegetables to most of the flavors except the Mac & Cheez, to increase the calorie content and bulk it out a bit. I don’t tend to eat breakfast, so lunch becomes a pretty important meal and the 400ish calories per serving isn’t quite enough in that case.
Spoiler alert! You could mix that mac and cheese as much as u want and cover it for 30 minutes and you will still likely find crunchy bits uncooked.
...but i tolerate it cz it tastes good 🤣

@@LittleTipple oh yeah you said which one you prefer but I was thinking of eating like 7/10 kind. But I’m really happy with the videos. It make me discover huel. Now it’s a daily meal for me or at least every two days.
The pot they give you the line is about 350ml not 250ml a mistake on their part so will cause it to be watery
Do you put the waterin first? I always put the Huel in first, then water up to the line, sometimes I add more water once mixed. If you put the water in first it would be way too much.
The chicken and mushroom is not tasty? It's bland. Not bad, but it doesn't taste like it got chicken stock in or even a fake chicken stock that mimics the taste of real chicken.
It's not that bad that I have to force myself to eat it. It's just not got a lot of flavour. Tried making it thick, runny, and as the directions say to. The powder is just bland. Changing the thickness doesn't improve the flavour.

@@simba720 review is a bit old now but I wouldn't say I don't recommend the meals. Just know that personally I prefer the taste of the shakes. But having something edible with pasta in your food is not something a shake can replicate.

It’s a bit like expensive pot noodles with a protein shake thrown it but does the job hiking. Usually throw some biltong in for something to chew on, not into the vegan thing

with the mac and cheese just add a few bacon bits, with sides of a few slices of fresh tomato and a small link of andouille sausage and a lite beer and its a great meal.
What is white people taco night? Is this a British term?
It's just a night when someone (traditionally a white person) makes tacos but a lot of it is prepared/ store bought. Bag of shredded lettuce. Bag of shredded cheese. Taco seasoning packet. Package of tortillas from Walmart or such.
Edit: Definitely not exclusive to the UK (Midwest USA person here)

So, I have no issue with you voicing your opinion on the products I review - they're not mine, and varied opinions are a very good thing. But there's no need to get personal. You can easily find on my channel a video about why I bought the campervan 4 years ago, and the adventures across the UK that we've had in it since then, if you're interested in that kind of thing?
