This bloke deserves a medal! He is brilliant at this - simple clear concise and very knowledgeable. He does not talk down to his audience at all and is just very impressive. I actually did not need this tutorial as the fault I had turned out to be in the electrical socket, However i kept watching because he was just so very good, As an ex teacher I wish I could have done my job even half as well!

I love how you get to the point quickly (unlike many other repair channels). I didn't have to skip once! Will try to take a look at the board. The issue I've got now is getting the washing machine out. It's stuck locked with water and clothes inside 😖

Hi the video was great. I own a LG front loading washing machine and it doesn't complete its cycle, goes off after 4 minutes, no matter what mode of wash you choose. You gave me the idea, that the control unit could be repaired than replacing it. So i got the courage to open it and the problem was the tube to the " Pressure Switch " was detached, Plugged it back in, the washing machine was ok. Thanks

Thank You Sir, for your honest approach to Troubleshooting a malfunctioning Washer. All, I've seen so far is that if a circuit board is Bad there is Nothing to be done - except to Replace it.
It is refreshing to see that there are honest professionals that don't mind showing that electronics can be repaired and it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to Buy a New Board at $300-400 dollars a pop.

Wow, I expected 'how to replace a door switcg' or 'how to replace a control board' - no one talks about board level repair anymore. Apparently everyone is fooled into thinking a $200usd board must be replace even though parts are under $1 and time is about the same. It's criminal. I pick up used junk to fix for pennies. Thank you, consumer suckas! Just got a front loader washer, replaced caps on an imac and a Samsung large TV before (free)!

Also check power connection to the wall, especially if you use splitter, for example to plug in washing and drying machine into singe outlet. Splitter can corrode inside, nothing is visible outside, but due to moisture it can corrode inside over time and make these problems.

If the washer is staying locked after cutting out during load sensing- is it more likely a door lock problem or what you fixed here on the circuit board. It also has a very faint sound coming from it? I do not I can unplug it to get it to unlock. So when I plug it back in after a 3-5 min unplug, the door will open but then it will start beeping at me so I close the door and it relocks 🤔

    Hello,
I have a question regarding my LG front load Direct Drive washer purchased in 2014.
The original board malfunctioned on me and needed replacement.
Before the board blew out on us there was this strange electric burning smell emitting from the washer. At first I thought it might be the heater and or thermistor, but they checked out normal with my multimeter.
I replaced the board recently and started testing the machine with different sized and timed cycles.
The top and rear panels are still detached until testing is completed.
Yesterday I washed 4 loads of 1 hour cycles.
Up through the 3rd load everything was normal, no smells, or error codes being displayed.
After the 4th load chimed, I entered the garage and there was that electric burning odor again, just like the previous time prior to the machine going D O A.
The smell emitted from the Direct Drive motor assembly and the aluminum cover that spins with the assembly was extremely HOTTER than normal to the touch.
Is this a normal thing with these Direct Drive motor assembly?
Should it emit this type of smell?
The last time I smelled this type of electric was when the balast inside my light timer burned up/ Even thought the balast burned leaving a brown mark on the external surface, the timer continued functioning.
Do you have any ideas regarding this issue?
Have you or anyone you know, or customers every mentioned anything regarding this phenomemon?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    THx
    Robert

    Hi how-2-repair.
Thank you for your video. I have a question hoping you ca help me. I have a Bosch machine that is not working since one week. I don't know what is the problem and I don't know if it's an error or a piece of the machine. When I choose a program with the door open and then I close the door, the machine tries to put the lock of the door several times (for about 10 seconds) but then nothing happens. The "start" button flashes and I try to activate it but notihng happens. So I tried to program the machine but this time whit the door closed. Again, we hear that the machine tries to put the lock of the door several times but nothing happens and even worst, if I touch the "start" button during the first 5 second, the circuit breakers leap. I thought that it could be the heater or the interference filter but both are ok. Can you help me please??? I don't know if it's just an error of the circuit (even if I don't have an error code on the display). Thank you very much you for your help.

My LG front loader machine stopped.i replaced the main circuit board and it's still dead. The outlet is ok, because the dryer runs from the same outlet. I paid$240 for that part! I'm pissed, now I'm thinking it's the display controller board

HELP! I have a Samsung Front Load Washer (Model WF365BTBGSF 4.1 cu ft). Thanks for the tip - I took a picture and it was very handy. Super technical support - but the newer machines wont let you fiddle with the PCBs given they are covered with a jelly style moisture barrier.
Initially the washer stopped and displayed an error code (AE). I reset the machine. Removed the power cord and let it rest. I also reset the electrical breaker. The washer started back up and ran for the five minutes and then shut down completely. The AE code no longer displays - the machine display simply goes blank and eventually powers down. The AE - fault code indicates a communication issue of the washers main components. I opened the machine, inspected it (looked for obvious wear, burns disconnected/loose connections) and decided to replace the main control panel (DC92-01527C) - RESULT: NO Change. NOT CHEAP.
Machine started up initially but powers down after 60-90 seconds. It continues to do this, provided it is unplugged or the electrical panel breaker has been turned off (removing all power to the machine) for an extended period before turning it back on.
My sense is there is a capacitor somewhere that needs to be replaced. I saw two small capacitors on the main board but my guess is they regulate power to the components on the PCB and there must be another regulating the motor.

I have an electrolux eww1476wd and after doing laundry, it does not want to turn on the dryer heater. the fan that exchanges the air in the drum from the machine turns on, but the heater does not want to. NTC sensors show resistance. the electronics have no mechanical damage and the relays are all OK. Maybe it needs to be reset, but I can't find anywhere how to do it??

It can only be the heater or thermostat bad connections can be a problem or it will be the printed circuit board. @@How-to-repair Thank you. When I connect the heaters from the dryer directly to the voltage, then it starts heating the air. I can't find the values of the ntc resistors to monitor the output temperature and the temperature inside the drum. But when the heaters work directly, the dryer finishes the 2-hour program in 45 minutes.

I will check for any loose connections, and also check if you have problems with the carbon brushes in the motor has intermittent faults can cause all sorts of issues

Many thanks for your advice. The engine is carbon-free. I have checked many connections and electrolytes/capacitors. The problem was gone for several months but now back. I'll try again 🙂 I have a theory that something is overheating. As if, when it has cooled down a bit, it starts again. The subsequent washes have run without problem.
