    My god man, you took the repair to a whole new level, I worked as an appliance repairman while I was studying electrical engineering and totally understand the tests that you are performing, I've just never seen a more professional way to do the repair, I didn't even knew that megger did appliances testers, I've only used megger equipment on transformers and big electric engines, loved your video, I aplaude your ways 💪

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I tried to teach in a way that people understand the best way to diagnose the problem with their machine. My problem being the videos do not get seen as much as they should. There are so many people making videos with incorrect information nowadays. It is hard to compete in the marketplace. What would really help me to get my video seen as I'm no IT expert is to either share the channel or at least post it to your friends my videos might not be UA-cam superstars, but they save Appliances from the scrapheap. Share and help us fight appliance waste! @Rat-Burger please remember to subscribe to our channel as that really helps us ua-cam.com/users/shortse432SAb2g08 Thanks, Paul 👍

    Great video... Just be careful how tight you tighten the nut back up. Measure how far the nut is on the thread before undoing it and then tighten to the same distance otherwise you could break the PLASTIC drum housing. This guy made it appear like you can apply lots of torque to that nut. It will seal without excessive tightening. Just do a run of the washing machine and look for any small leaks and tighten a little if needed after stopping the machine immediately after seeing and leaking. The plastic drum will crack very easily but if it does you can just apply an epoxy resin over the crack. The epoxy you would use in fish tanks.

    Hiya, I have a bosch washer dryer and have recently changed the bearings on the carbon brush motor. It worked fine, but after about 80% of the wash cycle it started tripping the fuse box in the house. Now, no matter what I do now the machine trips the breakers as soon as I initiate any program. If I unplug the motor from the machine everything is normal, so I assumed I've broken something in the motor. I performed tests on the motor with a multimeter and can't find any shorts or weird resistance readings in the windings or armature. The RCD even trips when I take the carbon bushes out of the motor but connect it up to the machine. Any suggestions on what else to check? Love your vids, great resource!

    Just done a wash load, put another in,, screen lit up for a split second then tripped the rcd. 😏. I don’t have a pat tester, but I can eliminate components by disconnecting them.
    Do you have a schematic for the motor testers??

    Right, I can do a cold wash, a rinse and drain BUT if I want a warm to hot wash it trips the electric fuse board. All electrics in the kitchen go off AND the timer for all hot water and heating in the airing cupboard. ...so maybe time for a new machine?
    edit: BTW I am 76 and live on my own so I cannot even pull i out let alone get all those gadgets to test it.. lol (or not!)

  • @cyrielmabilde7729
    @cyrielmabilde7729 2 роки тому +1

    I have the same power tripping problem with a 2 years old Bosh Vario-perfect. I measured the 3-phase motor with a Megger insulation tester and also the heating element after warming up in a bottle. Both are OK. Then I changed the two mains filter capacitors (10 nF and 22 nF) on the driver board who were connected to ground by 400 Volts types. No result. The machine is working well with ground disconnected, but this is unsafe. Floating voltage measured with an multimeter, between machine housing and mains real ground is 90 -140 Volts, dependent on orientation of the plug and is able to light up a small incandescent lamp. That was the primary reason I suspected the two capacitors because they are the sole ground connections on the board ground (=housing too) All other power supply components on the board are OK. Any other idea? Thank You

      tested L and N with Megger (350Vdc):no earth leak. I've disconnected the motor, heating element, pump: no ground connection, nor on all the cables connected with the driver board.
      The tripping occurs after turning the program selector knob, whereafter the two relais on the board are closed. I see a VDR (resistor) on the board (value "150 ohm", dvm measured :50 ohm) and maybe he is necessary for the coils, but NOTHING else beside the two input-filter capacitors have a real ground connection. Maybe there is a link were I can find the technical servicing manual and circuit diagram of this Bosch Vario-perfect washing machine? Thank you for your quick response

    You are a clever man, sir. So methodical. Wonder if you can answer a quick query. I have a Samsung Ecobubble direct-drive washing machine. Is it possible for the RCD to be tripped by a faulty on/off switch? Or something faulty on the pcb board? I am experiencing an intermittent issue whereby sometimes the RCD is tripping just by turning the machine on at the on/off switch. After re-setting the RCD at the fuse board everything then works ok. The wash cycle then proceeds from beginning to end with no further issues. Bit of a “head-scratcher” for me. Any ideas? .

    • @How-to-repair
      @How-to-repair  Рік тому

      The RCD will trip when you have an earth fault this can be caused by a bad connection or any live wire going to earth over 20 miiamp standards Glad it was helpful! @@How-to-repair Thanks for your kind reply. I do indeed subscribe to your channel. I am continuing to have the above described intermittent trip out of my RCD at the point of switching on my machine. Very puzzling as it only happens ( if it happens) with the act of pressing the on/off switch to power up the machine. When I reset the RCD and press the on/off switch again the machine then works perfectly (until the issue happens again). Could you please clarify for me if the switch itself could be the cause of this issue? The heating element and Suppression filter have both been renewed and this intermittent problem still persists as described. Was simply wondering if a faulty on/off switch could be the culprit. Or is it more likely a main PCB board issue. Any thoughts of yours would be appreciated. My machine is an 8kg Samsung Ecobubble model with digital inverter motor. Just over 6 years old. Problem only arose around 2 months ago. Thanks in anticipation.
