I had the same issue but after taking the top off discovered a broken door latch. Not being able to lock the laundry loading door prevented engaging the spin/rinse cycle
How were you able to fix the broken door latch? It seems to be the same issue with my washer because I tried the method explained in the video and that didn’t seem to work for me
I've been fighting with our washer for the past 4 months... I thought I had broke it after washing my weighted blanket but now it seems fine. Thank you!
We don't have well water but ours was doing the same thing. I cleaned it as you described and it fixed the problem. Thank you so much for posting this.
This is EXACTLY what my washer is doing. I don't have well water but I'm still going to see if cleaning might solve the problem. Reguardless, thank you for the insight.
Just tried this and sure enough my cold line was looking awful. I've had well issues in this new house, and have to get it shocked regularly so this was 100% the issue. Thanks SO much!
Thank you so much on a well and this washer is only a year old. Getting stuck all the time until I found your video. Cleaned out the screens and cycles are perfect. Now I know to clean them regularly.
Erika - you saved my Christmas!! I've been having problems with my Samsung Washer since 12/23/21, couldn't get it past the Wash cycle. As soon as you said Well Water, caught my attention. Texas country boy here, well water is only thing available. Thanks so nuch for sharing your knowledge. Washer is functioning as designed or brand new again. Merry Christmas to you & your family! God Bless!
Thank you SO MUCH!! Really appreciate your video. This is what happened to us. You saved us a service call and buying a new washer ❤ thank you thank you thank you 😊
This fixed my issue even on hot which was not clogged it would not run the cycle and would get stuck on wash. Cleaned both lines with water and vinegar blew into it with my air compressor and I now have a working machine, thank you!
Just got a new well pump and it's still says later bringing in a little sediment with cold water. Then our Maytag which we aren't a fan of in the first place stopped working properly going through and sticking on wash setting. Will try your fix tomorrow my wife thought this was problem you confirmed it.
Thanks for that tidbit of information....alot of people dont even consider this easy fix but it works.on mine theres a basket type screen u have to pop out with pliers ..clean it off and good to go.
Holy Moly, Thanks for finding the fix! We all tend to look for something more in-depth and overlooked the obvious. It is a bit scary to know what is going into our belly's if we drink that good cold tap water.
To be clear, all one needs to do is unplug the hoses and then swab out the gunk inside the port of entry on the rear? Are there other locations that need to be cleared? Thank you!
You are 100% correct. Cold water is used even on the hot cycle. It gets more minerals through water than the hot valve. Also super easy to replace if too much sediment is in the valve or the washer fills with water while it’s off.
I could kiss you! I’ve been battling my washer for two months…. And was just talking about buys a new one… (this one is only 2 years old)…… you are a hero!
As like #996, I can confirm this worked for me on my Whirlpool washer wtw5005kw. I found the sediment in my hot water line likely due to the water heater. Thank you so much!
what a sweet girl to do this video...we have well water also, my issue is different , my maytag washer does not complete it's cycle. ...I will try to clean my lines just like you showed us how to do it..cross your fingers & lets hope it fixes my issue.
when we were dealing with the issue it was about once a month. About 2 years ago we upgraded our well, filter and added a water softener and we haven't had to do it since.
I don't have well water, but my Whirlpool washer is doing the same thing. I am not able to loosen the hoses . My washer is only about 5 yrs old. Any suggestions....even with a wrench I cannot.
I almost threw my washer away. I have city well water and the same thing happened to me. Just clean those suckers out frequently and it should be fine. My washer is a newer model and did not show any error codes. This fixed it.
I tried this and it STILL GETS STUCK ON WASH! Luckily, it can drain and spin. We, too, use a underwater well that is not very clean and is hard water. Little bits of sand (not much tho) and tiny hairs clogs the filter to the washer. I was wondering if it's best to just pull out the filter if it is going to be constantl clogged with sandy bits? Should I just take out that filter since that slows down the flow of water?
I don't get the "lid locked" Just gets stuck rinsing/spinning at around 6 minutes. Well water seems to be a common theme around here for LG washers (I have it as well) Hope to try this fix tomorrow.
Finally found the problem I had the same problem when it reach rinse it is to vibrate and the lock lid remained on my problem was low water pressure , my pump pressure was too low..
Just moved into a house with a well 6 months ago. This has been happening for the past month! It'll get stuck over and over then randomly it will work. Going to try this. Any advice for the sediment issue?
We're in the same boat. Seems like a sediment filter is your best bet. They usually run around $500-600, but you can install them pretty easily yourself.
My Whirlpool washer is having similar problems. After the Sensing stage, it would move on to the Wash cycle, but it won't do anything. It will just sit there on Wash
Okay we are on city water and constantly have sediment coming through our shower/faucet lines. Never occurred to us to check this… we literally bought a new washer/dryer because of this issue. Found your video while we wait for the new one and tried it. FULL OF SEDIMENT. Thank you, now we can actually sell these ones🤣
I have this exact washer and it is the worse washer I have ever had. It takes a long time to wash clothes and sometimes they don't seem clean. The dryer is great, the washer, not so much.
Make sure you get screen filters in your hose ....It sucks cause ya have to clean that out much more BUT on these new washers they will stop working and break down. Old washers you can just run it without any filter ....So in my opinion afrer 10+ years of using an old 1980 washer compared to this new piece of crap "high efficiency " thing , I am already consideing selling my fancy washer amd buying an older 35 year old one.
Don't forget to shut off the hot or cold water hoses before unscrewing them from your washer! You may also want to have a towel in case any excess water drips out of the hose you unscrew.: )
I had the same issue but after taking the top off discovered a broken door latch. Not being able to lock the laundry loading door prevented engaging the spin/rinse cycle
thank you for sharing! That could be helpful for others looking for solutions!
How were you able to fix the broken door latch? It seems to be the same issue with my washer because I tried the method explained in the video and that didn’t seem to work for me
As soon as you said “well water” I had to see if that was the fix I’ve been looking for, thank you so much!
you're welcome!!
I've been fighting with our washer for the past 4 months... I thought I had broke it after washing my weighted blanket but now it seems fine. Thank you!
happy to hear this helped! sometimes when it rains, we have to do it again. its an on going thing.
How did you fix it?
We don't have well water but ours was doing the same thing. I cleaned it as you described and it fixed the problem. Thank you so much for posting this.
So happy to hear it worked for you! thank you for your comment!
Tried this on my washer(same make) and so far 2 washes without a problem after 2+years of hassle. Thank You!!!
so happy to hear!!! thanks for sharing!
This is EXACTLY what my washer is doing. I don't have well water but I'm still going to see if cleaning might solve the problem. Reguardless, thank you for the insight.
I hope it helped, even though you don't have well water!
Hey @Cassandrahepp6445 did it solve the issue
Did it help? We don’t have well water either
Just tried this and sure enough my cold line was looking awful. I've had well issues in this new house, and have to get it shocked regularly so this was 100% the issue. Thanks SO much!
so happy to hear this helped! when it rains, sometimes we have to do it again. its an ongoing thing.
Thank you so much on a well and this washer is only a year old. Getting stuck all the time until I found your video. Cleaned out the screens and cycles are perfect. Now I know to clean them regularly.
Glad I could help!
Screens plural? Does that plastic one come out and there’s another behind it or something? Or maybe you’re talking about hot and cold lines?
Erika - you saved my Christmas!! I've been having problems with my Samsung Washer since 12/23/21, couldn't get it past the Wash cycle. As soon as you said Well Water, caught my attention. Holy Moly, Thanks for finding the fix! We all tend to look for something more in-depth and overlooked the obvious. It is a bit scary to know what is going into our belly's if we drink that good cold tap water.
Definitely! we use the Britta for our drinking water, better than nothing. That sediment is no joke! Glad this video helped!
We have a cistern and sure enough, when I check the pipe it was clogged with leaves. Working great now!!! Thank you!!
so happy to hear!
OMG I’ve been looking for someone who has this same problem and could NOT find an explanation. Gonna try this and see if it helps!!
super hope this helps!!
To be clear, all one needs to do is unplug the hoses and then swab out the gunk inside the port of entry on the rear? Are there other locations that need to be cleared? Thank you!
thats it!
THANK YOU. I couldn't believe how clogged it was I even run a pre filter to stop this from happening and it still got clogged
You're welcome! Happy it helped!
Thank you so much, it worked like a charm. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
You're welcome!
Fixed thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
happy to help!
Thanks so much for helping us find our problem.
woowhoo!! happy to hear it helped!
Got my new washer yesterday. Same model and same issue but I reduced my water pressure and it works! Good luck!
happy to hear!
You are 100% correct. Cold water is used even on the hot cycle. It gets more minerals through water than the hot valve. Also super easy to replace if too much sediment is in the valve or the washer fills with water while it’s off.

Wow thank you sooo much!!
Happy to help!
When toh turn the water off and disconnect like you did, Is water gounf to go everywhere from what was in the Line?
Thanks
if you have a bucket or even a disposable cup, you can pour whatever is remaining in the line, once you turn the water off, into the cup/bucket.
where does the crap come from that you cleaned from the washer hose port ??
its sediment from the well
what a sweet girl to do this video...we have well water also, my issue is different , my maytag washer does not complete it's cycle. ...I will try to clean my lines just like you showed us how to do it..cross your fingers & lets hope it fixes my issue.
hope it works for you!
Thanks for posting....you were spot-on....issue resolved.
woowhooo! glad it helped!
Thanks for the video, can you tell me how often you have to do this ?
when we were dealing with the issue it was about once a month. About 2 years ago we upgraded our well, filter and added a water softener and we haven't had to do it since.
My mom's washer got stuck on wash. I remembered your video. That's what it was. Thanks
so happy to hear! thank you for your comment!!
Nailed it! Thanks Erika :)
so happy to hear!
That was my problem! I cant thank you enough! Thank you for posting this.
Glad it helped!
My washer does this.. can i take the screens out of the washer to fix the problem for good? I can get like 2 or 3 loads then it does it again
I don't think that's a good idea. you don't want to sediment to damage the washer, if the screens are not there to stop it.
Thank you for sharing this information, 😊now I know what to do. I was about to buy another washer 😅
woowhoo! you're welcome!
dog you saved my washing machine, you're the goat for sharing this
Glad I could help!! thanks for your comment!
I just moved in 2 days ago and my washer is brand new and it doesn't get past wash cycle. Actually it just lights up wash and stops
Did u find a fix? Mine was literally just delivered and it won’t go past the wash cycle.
thats what mine did too. it works forus. hopefully it works for you and its not a bigger issue.
Thank you for this video, it solved my problem
Glad it helped
That’s exactly what is going on with my washer thanks for the advice 👍🏼
you're welcome!
I wonder if it’s the same issue that I am dealing with at the moment. Hopefully cleaning it does it.
hopefully it was!
It was actually the electronic door lock latch @@ErikawithaK
@@cybersurfer614 I am going to pin your other comment, it might be helpful to someone else looking for solutions. thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your video.. It's the same problem I have. It's fix now
I'm glad it's fixed!
It worked. Thank you so much!
so glad it worked!
I don't have well water, but my Whirlpool washer is doing the same thing. I am not able to loosen the hoses . My washer is only about 5 yrs old. Any suggestions....even with a wrench I cannot.
ugh i have no idea. i am so sorry.
When you say turn off the water. Where would I do that??
at the washing machine water hook up. there is a hot and cold water supply.
@@ErikawithaK got it..thank you so much for replying
Going to try. Thank you
hope it works for you!

This is my question too?! Can we just take that out?
No the filter is there for a reason bi passing it will cause more damage later on
do not take the filter out.
Wow it worked for my washer cleaned out the cold water line, and it went full cycle
yay!! so happy to hear!
What do you mean stuck in wash cycle? Mine continues to run and adds time. Even on the rinse/spin cycle.
might be a different issue.
i did the clean tub functions and now my washing achine is stuck at cotton and cl
im not sure...

bummer!

I tried this but after removing the sediments it still washes, tries to rinse but doesn't agitate then drains&goes back to wash cycle
oh no! must be something else!
I have the same washer. It sucks. All these new computer washers are junk. Maytag really dropped the ball.
:)
The well water was super helpful detail
hope it helped!
I am going to try this .
let me know if it solves the problem! :)
Erika it worked thank you
wooowhoooo!!! so happy to hear!
My GE washer is now getting stuck on every cycle.
It's probably time to call a repair team.

might want to check your water system.
Don't forget to shut off the hot or cold water hoses before unscrewing them from your washer! You may also want to have a towel in case any excess water drips out of the hose you unscrew.: )
of course the valves should be off, we keep a cup or bucket that we put the hose in.
Mine won’t even lock :/
