Would love to see a marathon chrono with the 41mm proportions
I used to own this watch. It is absolutely stunning. Beautiful watch. Kept time down to the second. Extremely accurate. That said I had to let it go due to the size. It is very heavy, and very tall. On the steel bracelet it weighs a lot. Very heavy. Looks great on a nato strap but with two layers of strap under an already very tall watch it just didn’t work. I have a 7 1/4” inch wrist for reference. If this watch was 42mm, and not so tall it would be one of the best watches out there in its class.
I have the 41 and I feel it's too small
I really love these reviews! Helps so much with decision making.
Love my GSAR...just purchased the General Purpose automatic in steel, should arrive within the week👍🏽😎
I commented on another of your reviews. About owning this exact watch.
The only watch I will ever own. There not cheap. As, of this the year 2022. The price tag for one in Canadian funds is $ 6’000.000. And ( in my view ) worth every dime .
That's a very tough looking chrono, and it looks like they paid attention to everything. It's just a little bit big for my personal taste, but I am glad it exists. I certainly know guys with big enough wrists to pull this watch off well.
Way too big for me as well. I will stick to the regular GSAR
@@TeddyBaldassarreReviews The GSAR is the one I've really got my eye on.
Is it that big?
@@Wrigley7420 For my 7 inch wrist, yes. It's got a 55mm lug-to-lug, but my wrist is only 53mm across. That's an improper fit and will look silly. If you've got the wrist for it, there's no issue. Obviously some people can wear it, or they wouldn't make it.
Love the chapter ring integration
Marathon really needs to offer this watch in their Anthracite finish. That's why I am holding out on purchasing one. Otherwise, a killer chronograph!
What's anthracite never heard of that before
@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess Marathons black diamond like finish. Harder than the stainless steel its coated to. Very nice finish.
Do they make a smaller version?
Do you think it can match with a suit?
Whats the accuracy of this automatic watch in terms of gain/loss ?
Any of you know if this Marathon model has ISO 6425 certificate 300m like a real diver watch?? or COSC certificate?
That is one hell of a great watch.
good looking watch Teddy 👍🏻
I love the tritium on watches and wish it was on more of them.
How does this compare with Fortis b42?
I have the 41.5mm gsar that I purchased in 2018. I love the bezel action, and has no play once set. I love how easy it is to read my gsar. I love the knurling on crown is makes it easy to wind it. This csar looks incredible but might be too big for my 7 inch wrist. One thing I don't like is the price. You can probably get a pretty good condition omega seamaster 300 chronograph for this price, just not sure if it will be as durable. Teddy awesome video and looks like incredible micro photography. Keep up the good work.
It should fit as long as your wrist is flat. Flat 7 inch wrist here, and the watch lugs aren't even close to the edges of my wrist. I would go for this over any of the Seamaster chrono's. It's going to be a unique piece in your collection, and easy/inexpensive to service.
Big fan... monster watch with a steel bracelet. I have a tan leather and adds style and comfort.
How much the Wight please??
very nice!!
This is next on my list. "Just one more honey, honest"!
Full out Monster watch for Monster arm
Informative review, this Marathon would be perfect for my large wrist. 40mm watches look like lady watches on me.
It was big, but good looking. 😎
Are there any Tissot watches that would be considerably compared to this jumbo?
Seastar 1000 Chronograph would probably be the closest comparison although it's quartz. The
seastar 2000 professional is automatic but does not include the chronograph functionality.
@@TeddyBaldassarreReviews thanks. That's good news since I've been watching your Seastar video all afternoon. Thanks again.✌🏾
Good video
I like big watches and I cannot lie.
If only they made this model in the GSAR case
It wouldn't work with the 41mm GSAR case. The GSAR dial is quite small. You try to jam 3 chronograph sub-dials in there and a day-date complication, and it becomes an illegible mess.
@@Brian-ee1gx I think it could be done, with a bit of tweaking. I have the GSAR and agree the dial is relatively small but I also have a 38mm modified 7750 day date chronograph that is perfectly legible. There must be a way to make it a bit smaller......
Fug that's a "THICK" watch... 17.2mm!?! Gawdam.
I wish Marathon made a GMT version of the 41mm GSAR.
If your wrist is 7, then that proves that wrist size is not nearly as important as wrist SHAPE. Because mine is ~6.75 and I wear bigger watches than you that fit perfectly, and never have the same size complaints you do hahaha. I'm convinced wrist shape and "wingspan" of a watch is everything.
What shape wrist fits the 46 well? I’m a 7 wrist size
I want this watch!!! I will own it one day
i have one its useless for me i want to sale
Why is this not a COSC certified chronometer though it uses a valjoux 7750? I mean I know the general answer could be “they didn’t submit the movement for the COSC paper” but why not? Wouldn’t that make it much more marketable and up there with the big guns Breitling, Rolex, Omega ? Wouldn’t the cost to do this justify itself? I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that 7750 can make the COSC specs. Or am I missing something? By no means am I pretending to be anything near a watch expert but Marathon seems to be no nonsense. Also why doesn’t CSAR state on case ISO6425? Is that also an issue of not submitting for certification ?
Incredible dial shame it’s so gigantic
It probably wears smaller than the size indicates, due to the large bezel and conical rehaut, which makes the dial smaller than you would think. My 41mm GSAR has a smaller dial than some of my 38mm watches.
@@Brian-ee1gx I’m sure they will bring out a smaller version in time thanks for the info
Unlike a sinn ezm chrono this is a base 7750 like in a 1000 close out watch from a bada bing company
❤
Sheesh that is thick
I would bloody kill for a watch like this. Well no not really but hopefully one day.
It looks so bulky it oozes of military juice.
Need a smaller version of the CSAR, hopefully in consideration by the company, great Chrono but unable to wear it.
Maybe a full MaraGlo version with no Tritium Tubes in order to help reduce diamater & thickness.
Ready $💰💵💰$ when they are ⌚ smaller CSAR.
(Funny, ain't most diver & pilot's if not all of them are fit slim dudes?) why such an obese watch?
It's big for legibility. Traditionally pilots watches are on the larger side. The earliest ones got up to 60mm.
Overpriced even with all my discount military discount Black Friday discount I can buy a sin chronograph for the same price which will appreciate, or at least hold its value the non-chronograph marathons hold their value well, but this chronograph is overpriced Comparable
No offense, but saying these (marathon) are the best mil-spec watches for the money is incredibly ignorant.
:)
Oh Teddy! You'll never be able to wear that watch. Only manly men need to apply.
F*ck me $3200 for a watch, rather buy a G -Shock
Hey Teddy,
Wdy think, too big for a 6-1/2” wrist?
Definitely
