I love both my Marathons. I have a TSAR 41mm quartz and an automatice JSAR. The JSAR is the very special YAMAM Israeli Special Forces version. Very tough but very wearable watches. Both of them. Very happy I made the purchase.

Received my new JSAR yesterday which I purchased from Marathon. Just wanted to add a comment about the Lume. Traditionally I'm a big tritium guy but have also had a lot of high end pieces that are famed for their lume. The JSAR is in my opinion far more superior to any other watch that I've owned (including Omega, Panerai, and Breitling) as far as all night readability. I could honestly read it without any difficulty even after 9 hours in the dark. A plus was that Marathon also included a bunch of extras. Was received with a hat, two carry bags, Marathon velcro patch, and a high quality watch tool. A+ to the Marathon team. Also, if you register your watch they will add an additional year of warranty with it.

I just grabbed one of their alarm clocks. Its the best alarm clock I've ever owned. Endless snooze and a nightlight. I love this brand.

I wore my JSAR for 10 years and switched the battery a few times, it has some dings but still an awesome watch.
Just switched to the Marathon JDD because I love the design and tritium but I will never sell my JSAR.

Wearing an 11 year old TSAR right now. Definitely my favorite diver, even if it's quartz. One day I'll get the auto.

@cybrscot I'm pretty sure that Luminox had the ANU certification and even then most armed service personnel buy their own watches. And most of them buy cheap g-shocks because they work and are easily replaceable.

July 2023, that watch is now $1,080 on Long Island Watch and you said $200 for the bracelet but its now $378. Id buy it in the 700's but im not dropping over a grand on a quartz unless it says Grand Seiko.

  • @M3LTUP

That is a cool watch. The way it is built. It could probably last a few lifetimes.

  • @CaptGus

It cost $1458 with the bracelet today October 17, 2023 at the island watch place then you have to pay shipping I think. So I bought it from marathon and I got it but it’s with the same price a little cheaper with free shipping with a 10% off for first time buyers. This also comes with the tool to change out the band if you need to and a beanie cap.

@@patricko9170Yes, they've jacked up their prices in the last couple of years.
I waited until this Black Friday weekend, and bought the rubber strap version for $960, even with 20% off. They are now 1200 to 1400 dollars at regular price depending on the version. It sucks, but that's inflation...

Love this watch, but Marathon needs to produce it in their anthracite finish before I'd go ahead and buy it. A great chronograph however. I already wear a Marathon watch and they are as good as people say they are.

I have the day-date auto version of this watch (tritium tube lume). It's wonderful, and yes, it's big. It has, like this one, a crazy deep dial. I do like a nice deep dial presentation. It's a wonderful watch. Marathons are a bit more expensive, but they are built to take a beating.

Looks like a solid watch but also incredibly clunky. Seems a little overpriced and it is charging a little too much to give stamped clasp like seiko watch and a quartz movement.

If you're gunna have the audacity to make your bracelet a $200 add on for a $700 watch then make sure it at the very least has a milled clasp.

There is another ETA variant on these marathon watches! The F06 and 7 are high torque quarts and are serviceable (I know the 06 has three jewels) and I have them on the Navigator with date and tritium and I also own the general purpose quartz with Maraglo (both ETA F06). And yes, whatever Marathon is using for their lume, it glows all night. I hope you get your hands on the other models!

Hey I’m looking to buy this watch but the jdd the jumbo day date automatic which is the 1800$ version would you get the quartz version you have for 760 I think you said with the Mara glo or would you go with the automatic with the day and date with tritium tubes instead of actual charge\ing Lume? Because my friend has a brand new jdd automatic with the rubber strap and the marathon bracelet that is only 9 months old that he has worn once and kept in his safe for $1100? Because I like the lume on this version you have but I also want something very accurate. And I also have the option of getting an oris aquis 43.5mm for 800$ black dial with orange lume but don’t know if there are any issues or problems with oris I don’t know much about the brand except they are expensive time pieces
