I live in a small town 2 hours drive from Tokyo.
I’m a happy mom of two (👦🏻15+👧🏻10) and two cats (😺😇Picku 18.5 + 🐈 Momiji 16).

The mornings and evenings are still cold, but the days are becoming warmer. Spring is coming to Japan soon.
I wanted to feel spring in my small tatami room too, so I changed my bed sheets to pink.
I had sunratan ramen and cabbage salad for lunch . And I cooked soup pasta for my kids’ dinner .
At night, I had warm shochu sake and Kitsune-udon🍲.

about thirteen years old...🤭 it's a complicated age, but I think it's worse now because of social networks, in my time we didn't have a mobile phone (I was a teenager in the nineties) and at thirteen years old I still played, especially with playmobil toys and kept the dolls in order (always well haired and with perfect clothes)😂 Later I would meet up with my friends in the park for a little while and eat sunflower seeds and talk, we talked a lot, yes, face to face.
These times has good things, but I think children need to be children for longer, I think everything is faster now...

Regarding the almond trees in the other comment, I would like to tell you that they look very similar to the cherry tree when they are in bloom. In Spain there are many almond trees because almonds have been used in many desserts for many years. The most typical ones, in case you want to search for them on Google Images, are: polvorones, mantecados, tarta de santiago, mazapan de Toledo... many more, I don't want to bore you.😋
And about surnames, indeed, when we get married in Spain, we do not lose the two ones, it is something beautiful that unites us with our family despite the marriage.
About the past weekends...it snowed a little and it was very cold and windy..., this week I have had a cold and a throat pain 😓 now I am better.I hope to be able to go out on the weekend and enjoy the sun after so much cold, but Juan Carlos is starting to feel bad, no please!! 😱
here in Spain we are saddened by the death of Akira Toriyama, Dragon ball creator, many Spanish children and adolescents watched that series and it really left its mark...I didn't watch it, but I was faithful to the song in the final credit title, I turned on the television to be able to sing it, these days I have sung it again (I don't forget the lyrics despite the passage of time)...that such precious memories...Juan Carlos saw the series and he also liked it, he watched it during his study break and has fond memories.

My friend's daughter told me that she had nothing to talk about with her friends because they shared their lives on SNS all the time.

I laughed about ironing on my knees!
As you've already know, we sit on the floor in the family room.
And this way is more comfortable than sitting on the chair for us you know?
We call it "seiza" = sit in a kneeling position, and this is formal way to sit when we do Japanese tea ceremony, in the temples, calligraphy classes...so on.
Yes, it will hurt my legs if I sit for a long time.
So, I don't usually sit that way. But when ironing, I do it because it's easier.
And I didn't realize I was sitting that way until you pointed out😂. That was so funny.
I googled that sweets you told me! They look so yummy.
We don't focus on the desserts much in Japan when we eat dinner, but in Spain , maybe it's big thing for you ?
You always eat these kinds of sweets after dinner?
We are shocked that Mr. Toriyama's sudden death.
I've heard that the working environment for Manga artists in Japan is quite harsh.
I'm sure he smoked a lot, and he often stayed up all night drawing Manga.
That may cause his life shorter...

Hi, Leah! We even have the shrines for foxes😂. One of them is on the side of the supermarket parking lot in my town. And there is always fried tofu as an offering🦊. I hope your town will be full of flowers soon🌸.
A fox shrine! I love the things I learn from you. I think if we had one here, people would put Kentucky Fried Chicken as an offering. We think of foxes as wanting to eat chicken.
