What beautiful moments you have spent with your in-laws eating a lot and hanging out, here in Spain we also eat a lot on Christmas days.
Your father-in-law's Kamidana altar is very beautiful, those things catch my attention, also the decoration of the door is beautiful, all very endearing.

We spent a quiet Christmas at home, we have missed those who are no longer here, but we remember them with joy, the three wise men ( los tres reyes magos) brought to Juan Carlos and me some small details, we must maintain the illusion of when we were children, they are gifts of little material value, the three wise men know that the illusion is worth more than the expense...

I was worried about you and your family after we heard of the earthquake in Japan. I'm glad you are safe. I love learning about your holiday traditions. On New Year's Day, we eat black-eyed peas which are boiled with ham or bacon. We believe they bring good luck in the coming year. Kids have to show they ate and swallowed at least one spoonful or they will bring bad luck to the whole family. 😂 On Dec 26, Boxing Day, our family exchanges books and chocolate. This year, I got The Devil's Flute Murders by Seishi Yokomizo. I'm excited to get a chance to read it. I loved tagging along with you on your trip to the shrine. I'd really like to visit one someday. And it's amazing you already have green buds coming up. Here, we have 60 cm (24 inches) of snow on the ground and bitter cold. Thinking of sweet Picku and hoping for the best. My cat Pumpkin sends a nose rub. Stay warm and best wishes in the coming year.

I was so fascinated to know that you also eat black eyed peas. We eat them in New Year too. How was your new Seishi Yokomizo's book? My husband said that he really liked him and he read many of his book. I know there are many movies from the books but I've never watched or read them. I should try to watch or read them this year😍.
You still have a lot of snow! Wow! My daughter is waiting for the snow but it is rare to have it here.

Happy New Year from Australia 🥰 it looks so cozy and love all the food you ate 🤩 unfortunately i go COVID just before Christmas so i was very unprepared but thankfully my mother and Aunt came to the rescue. New year we spent with our friends that we have known when living in Switzerland. It was so lovely to be together. Happy New Year 🥳

I think everybody likes Shinchan and Doraemon! I don't watch them anymore because my kids are big but still I like them both.
