I'm always so amazed and impressed when someone can take on such a mess. Those are so rare, and such a beloved little coupe. They were one of the most beautiful little cars. It's a resurrection from a grave of rust. It looks like the most important bits were there. First restoration? - wow, great job.

Nice vid. Had a P1800 as first car after college. Loved that car and kept it for years, although it had ongoing electrical issues mainly with the electronic overdrive. Eventually it got too much to keep up and sold it to a dealer. Still miss it.
You did an amazing restoration. I wouldn’t try on something that far gone. Great job.

Hella gutsy taking on a car that rusty. You’ve got some mad welding/fabricating skills. I used to work as a parts counter guy in a Volvo dealership. Always loved the P1800. Thanks for sharing.

NIIIICE job. Did a '62 myself, and I know how much attention to detail you put into this one. Unfortunately, there are a lot of these cars out there in the condition you started out with, but not enough people out there with the determination and skills to put and keep them on the road. Kudos to you, sir.

I just kept them on the roads. I had what looked like a clean one in the 1990s in chicago, body on top looked good, interior was good, but frame rails were shot, shift gears and the rear end shifted, like driving a bowl of jelly down the road. I had a 1962 122s in chicago same situation, as well. In both cases we had to weld a new frame rail in ,which gave us a few more years on the road. But I never went through 1/100th effort you went threw, they werent worth that much in the 1990s. We were taking our lives into our own hands . Ah to be young and stupid again. Incredible effort.

I sought out a video like yours to see what was involved in sill and wheel arch repairs to the 1800 body. While I have restored a couple of British cars I am on the fence regarding taking on an 1800 that is available to me. After watching your video I feel like a wimp for not jumping on the opportunity. Thanks for sharing your 4 years of beautiful and detailed work.
