I watched the houseplant tour last week and when I saw you potting up micans today I thought, "okay, she has more." I can't express how SHOCKED I was to see that the first micans you potted up was actually that lush, tall climbing one you showed in your tour! Great job! Also, 1 vote for more squirrel content!!
I just potted up 40-50 micans propagations into three pots about a week or two ago. This is what I'm going for! Micans everywhere. Just upped the lighting of those three pots today, can't wait to see how much they've grown in a month's time. I love that you always have the update in the same video.
I'm really glad you're always happy to consolidate the plants you have multiples of. I know quite a few people who are really against it for whatever reasons but I love making a few happy, smaller plants into one large happy plant. Plus, it makes space for more plants!
I love my micans climbing, it started climbing upon the wall where I initially thought to let it trail but the solution the plant had found made it so much better, the leaves are huge and dark and lush. One of my favorite plants indeed for good reasons!
I am so busy at the moment and I want to thank you, because right now you are the only person on UA-cam that calms me when I want to watch some great content but also want to relax at the same time. 🧡
Thanks! Was just thinking about putting a micans on a pole. And was so happy that you showed us the "AFTER" in this video so we can see the size after a few months.
I've found my Micah's or pothos do really well under good lighting. They've got nice thick, brightly colored vines. When I changed lighting it made such a difference of course with good humidity and fertilizer. Lucky you were able to save those struggling Mican's they're so beautiful.
I just got one of these little guys today and found your video so helpful! Thank you for posting this. I also appreciate how kind you are to your plants :)!
Wow so many micans is good to save a plant when you can is always sad seeing them being neglected in a nursery garden centre. I love my plants trailing but some are nicer on a moss pole when it becomes full. The micans definitely looks nicer trailing upwards. Aww ☺️ so cute seeing the squirrel again 🐿 is good she is still around.
Totally beautiful!!! I love Micans. I only have trailing ones, but I’m going to get a pole and have at least one pole. Not enough enough room in my home is the problem…. I love Micans!!!! Thank you for all the tips. I’ll be referring to this video when I get all ready. Thank you 🙏🏻!!!! 🪴💚🪴
I love micans so much. I was excited when I saw a shipment at lowes because I never saw them for sale before, but they had cold damage as well and lost all their leaves. I haven’t seen them for sale since
I really like your update videos and how you do them on one video, it's convenient and your Micans are looking fabulous, darlin.😍 Thanks for all your great content, Christine, you rock! 🎸🌵
Just found your channel. I wasn't going to get a philodendron since it's not pet friendly and I have 4 cats. I just couldn't resist the Micans. So I will be hanging it to be safe. Just fell in love with the velvet feel, the dark green leaves and the bronze highlights. Thanks for so a relaxing and fun video.
You are so elegant ma'am. I am going to see if I can make one of my Micans trail and one climb. Those plants have not been good to be as cuttings so I will invest in a potted plant.
I love Micans wish I had as many as you do I have one small pot and like to have never got it. I did cut a piece off rooted it and have it on a plank. Just started watching your videos looking forward to seeing your next one I will go check out your other ones
@@christinekobzeff I've been watching you since pink so foxy days and still love your content! Your channel is what encouraged me to start my own plant collection! Thank you for inspiring others!
Thanks Lexi! I bought this larger size at Mesquite Valley Growers a local nursery here in Tucson. I've found small sizes at another local place, Bach's Cactus Nursery.
Perfect timing for this video! I just got my first mic and and poor thing looks like she fell off the truck but I bought her anyway. I’m sure she’ll be fine. 😊😊
We don't have much of this plant in my area. There is few in one of the Lowe's stores. And they are in very small pots. I can't imagine who has such abundance so they can put them outside in the cold.
Oh my heck, those micans are a dream!! Do you keep you poles moist? What are your humidity levels? I want to try this but am afraid I don't have the environment for it!
Thank you for another wonderful video Christine. Do you still have your jewelry line or are you sticking to plants for now? Also we also miss your nail polish and makeup hauls🌹
Uh I absolutely love micans and keep propagating them. I have 3 now. Yours are so beautiful dark and pretty big leaves. I like mine both ways too trailing and climbing. I also wanted to know how much were your rehabs and did u get a discount for them being roughed up?
Thank you! Micans are beautiful, aren't they?! I bought the 4" pots of Micans at Lowes for $8 each. I had to pay full price, no discounts on them. But I was still excited to adopt them since I rarely see them in my area. ☺️🌿💕
Woah, they're all beautiful! Also random question- with your room being around 55% humidity, do you find the sphagnum moss mounds on your anthuriums dry out too quickly? Mine dry out way before I need to rewater the soil underneath the mounds, and I have similar room humidity.
Hi Lucas! Yes, my sphagnum moss dries out pretty quick too, usually within a 3-5 days on average. If there are roots growing into the moss that I want to keep moist but the plant doesn't need to be watered yet, sometimes I'll just give the moss a good misting or a light splash of water.
I still haven't found a mican but TBH I'm not looking too hard. I'll find them eventually. I've decided to buy a house and I am trying to not bring in too many plants until I am sure I'll have a place for them all. Looking at your collection doesn't help 😍
OMG.... i was just googling and Reasearching the best plants for my new apt... I just moved in on April 1st...its such a great space... 👏👏👍 I have this Origami Gun Metal large Shelving...I thought about using it and FILLING IT WITH PLANTS ON ALL FOUR SHELVES and adding a few more on the other side of the room (living room) What PLANTS would you suggest i purchase? I really NEED HELP Im retired so i can take good care of my plants Thanks
Hi Dora! Congratulations on your move, it sounds like you're going to have a beautiful space! What genus of plants do you enjoy growing? Trailing plants like philodendrons or rhipsalis look great cascading from shelves, mixed with other small potted plants. Will the shelves be in low, medium or bright light?
I have a question about your beautiful nails… what do you do? I have watched lots of your videos and they are always beautiful! I have always wanted beautiful nails.
Hi Jackie! That's a great question. Now that the micans are in 10" and 11" pots, they should be good for awhile as the roots work on filling out the pots. I'll probably be checking them in Spring of next year and see if they're ready for a repot.
My one micans plant leaves are so small. I have it by my east window so I thought that was good light. Do they need more light? All leaves are small btw. I’m so sad cause this was a wishlist plant.
If I understand right you use the Superthrive and Liquid-dirt at the same time - every other week light feed BUT when are you using the granular fertilizer.
Hi Julia! Yes, you're right. I apply the slow release fertilizer only once every 6 months. After repotting, I'll usually wait until the plant settles into its new pot and then I'll add the fertilizer. Also you can adjust the combination to fit what works best for your plants. You could start with using just one (Superthrive or Liquid-dirt). Originally I started with Superthrive and the plants responded really well to it, then later I started experimenting with Liqui-dirt. Both work great, they're more like a multivitamin for our plants, rather than a complete fertilizer, either one works well in addition to fertilizer. I hope that helps!
Can you do a video on different fungi that can occur in the soil of houseplants. I believe I have yellow parasols in three of my plants. I dm'd you on Instagram with some pics of what I think is a fungus. It literally looks like yellow floam. If you're not familiar with floam, it looks like Styrofoam balls in slime. You are my go to for how to care for my plants.
Hey girl! I'll check my dm's for the pics, thanks! A video on that topic is a great idea. I've had the yellow fungus and mushrooms pop up in soil of a few plants in the past, only when I used potting soil. Since using coconut husk as my soil base, I haven't had any more issues with fungus. They usually say the fungus is harmless and appears when the soil doesn't get a chance to dry out long enough between waterings. But in my experience, it caused yellow spotting on my leaves and even letting the soil go dry between waterings, the soil still got fungus overgrowth. I eventually had to repot those affected plants. I hope that helps! 💖🌿
For my life, Micans do not do well in my care and in different spots in my home 😭. I have tried Micans (3) times and NOPE they were not liking me nor my home. I now, see them in the stores, and I touch them and I keep on going 😂.
Aww don't give up, it might not have been anything you did, sometimes the retailers sell plants that aren't 100% healthy and they start out stressed or with root problems. 💚
I know it is off-topic, however, I love that Monstera sitting there looking spectacular. I like Philodendrons, although I have three Philodendron Brazils I love the variegation!
Can you please do a video on how you make your own moss poles? Thanks!
Seconded!

My jaw was on the floor when I realised! She's the Micans whisperer. 😂😍
I found one tiny pot of Micans and swooped it up. They are hard to find around here. They are a beautiful plant.

Do you keep the moss pole wet or do they still continue with good growth if it’s dry?
Your plants are so beautiful 🤩…😊
I never thought someone would have as much micans as myself lol I love micans and it grows and propagates so easily.
Would love to purchase some of your micans, cannot find them anywhere on the Oregon Coast!
