I absolutely love how Chaos is used. Instead of being like an apocalypse or something, the chaos is presented as a huge jumble of culture. Love it.
Yeah, apocalyptic Splatoon would feel a little depressing
The fans gave the approval for Nintendo to present chaos, and so they did. Culture considered to be chaotic in Japan.
@@MadWeegee Splatoon is already apocalyptic
@@TheRose202 nah it’s post apocalyptic
@@deulalune I mean, It's post-post apocalyptic. Civilization exists again with the inklings and octolings.
i'm so glad that the direction they're going with when it comes to "chaos" is pure expression and a sense of warmth, rather than falling into the trap of being edgy
yes!!! exactly
Precisely! I love the way the Splatoon world looks and feels, I love the muted and gray tones of Splatsville, because when the Splatfest hits the streets fill with color and joy! It makes Splatfests all the more important and exciting! I love this game already!
I do wonder what order would've been like
@@soulreaver6546 chaos is brown with grey and order is blue with grey :p
@@soulreaver6546 The music would probably be more Techno-EDM like I would guess. Something slimar to like Daft-Punk,
A thing I've noticed is that in all splatfest songs that play in the main area of all splatoon games are color related.
The Squid Sisters always sang "City of *Color"*
Off the Hook *"Color* Pulse"
And now, Deep Cut "Anarchy *Rainbow"*
Oh nice observation :D
It could also be a nod to how the Chaos theme of Splatoon 3 is a big jumble of cultures and such. Squid Sisters and Off The Hook have the word color in the song name, but Deep Cut has Rainbow in the name, and rainbows consist of many colors.
@@pef_v6107 okay you're actually a genius
Splatoon's "Color" motif is as Bayonetta's "Moon" motif. Weirdly enough the third title of both gave a variation of the motif (Rainbow instead of Color and Moonlight instead of Moon).
@@pef_v6107 to add onto this, both OTH and the squid sisters are variations of green and pink. Which are just aesthetically pleasing colors, and deep cut consist of the primary colors! Blue, red and yellow, which all combinations of such make ALL colors!
Ignoring the memes made of frye’s forehead, their design is so adorable! like the aesthetic and everything makes me love her!
Their designs are based on different cultural outfits too! I love their design inspiration
Her big ol' eyes are so adorable too!
She’s so cute when she’s happy
her big forehead is meant for kisses and knowledge
Frye’s surprised face is the cutest thing on the universe
One of the best things I've noticed about this game is how the concept of chaos was interpreted by devs as showing a wide mesh of multiple cultures, and it really feels like we're celebrating it with the splatfest here. It feels like a natural progression for splatoon, both as a thriving post-apocalypse and a series that's evolved so much on its own.
I love the fact that it’s a mesh of various cultures!!!
their interpretation of chaos is literally just a dense american city and i think that's hilarious
@@RealNikTrustMe I mean, it’s not wrong
I am absolutely I love with that idea.
@@RealNikTrustMe Honestly the vibe feels much more like big SEA cities than America.
I love how traditional it sounds. It shows that splatfest are a tradition to inkling and now octoling culture.
It really brings the festive vibe excited to hear it in the very first splatfest!
@@TheDiscussor it really does! I’m excited as well cause I’ve been listening to this nonstop ever since it came out 😭
@@strawberryburst2108 me too it’s so good
I think Frye is a mix of inkling and octoling
not only that but it helps show how it was only recently that splat lands and inkopolis became connected thanks to the bridge.
I'm starting to think this song would make a good theme for the World Cup
*Japan should've played this when they won the match against Spain.*
It fits so much! (specially knowing where the World Cup was done Frye instrumental fits) even though i wish France had won this fits Argentina lmao
Believe me it would be better than whatever qatar did
I actually listened to big man’s version of anarchy rainbow whenever Brazil scored a goal… shame they lost though.
WBC, maybe too.
I love how Splatoon Splatfest songs went from sounding like a "late night show" intro, to a concert, to a festival. It really shows a lovely progression and I live for it!!
I honestly love the fact that it looks like all three members will be traveling around on floats before they all connect together at the main area.
That would be amazing
at the end you can also see that the platforms are attached to dragon parts and form an japanese dragon at the end
maybe in the first half of the splatfest they are in separate floats and after the mid-splatfest news they get together
It's inspired by the Brazilian carnaval, actually
@@personita2.733 That makes me wonder if this music will be progressive - like the music will get better in the second half or smth
shiver’s part sounds like traditional japanese songs, big man’s part sounds like a bit of brazilian funk maybe, frye’s part sounds like it’s traditional from middle eastern / south asia, and the chorus sounds like samba. i’m in love with this song
It's such a perfect mix I love it

@@v3mm13 you sure? Middle East is literally where Saudi Arabia and co. Are
I love how these three feel more in tune to the culture around them. The chaos is festive and free. It's all united and packed together, but not neatly and that's okay. I admit, I was a little concerned about this game because it seemed less colorful than the previous two, but I think I can easily grow to love this just as much.
i feel like the city in this game is kinda themed around nyc? cuz nyc has a lot of different cultures and people and so does splatsville. and they both go absolutely CRAZY with colors and decorations during major events like splatfests/holidays!
@@hylophobix I see it more as shibuya because japan

I hope you get your hands on it. It's really good! If you have already, then that's awesome :)
this happened to me, only it was for the initial direct for the games reveal, it was at that point, i felt apart of something that i hadnt even participated any more than just seeing a video of a new game at the same time as people who had been playing. i was hooked
Whoever mixed this song is a genius. They managed to fit so many cultures in such a small amount of time, and managed to perfectly make fake squid language sound great, all whilst making a genuinely slapping song
Ikr! Especially how they gave each of them their own way of dancing!

I love all the other idol songs, but I gotta say: this song is the one that feels the most like a CELEBRATION. It has a cultural festival quality to it
yeah this one is the most festive. the others were more unreachable celebs, deep cut fees more like a down to earth folk group
@@bhesseling9949 fully agree w this! the visual aesthetic of the anarchy splatcast also feels super DIY-esque, kinda like it's paying homage to the emphasis on DIY the early punk scene had.
the sisters and OTH felt like pop megastars, and during splatfests they performed on platforms way up above everyone else. the platforms here seem kind of similar, but the fact they're separate and float around feels like it offers more audience interaction. they def went all in with the chaos theme all over the place, almost as though the inkopolis population decided they were done with the ultra pop-stardom, and wanted more relatable musicians/artists in the spotlight
Yuh
Fr
its literally samba lol
I love this theme. This makes splatfests feel so alive. Like it’s more than just a competition and it’s more than just a concert, it’s a proper FESTIVAL with chaotic themes, music, Ideas, and cultures blending together to shine brightly
Words can not describe how i felt on this day a year ago. It was the most excited and overjoyed i had felt in my entire life.
i loveyour pfp
It almost sounds like a blend of Indian, Japanese, and Brazilian culture, which really brings out the idea of diverse unity and expressionism that chaos is all about. I love it!
That's exactly what I was thinking 😊👍
I hope there will be many cultures shown in the game, it’s like the inklings and octolings took the remnants of human culture and mixed them together
Yep
I don't know what Indian sounds like, but yeah, I can definitely pick out Brazilian/Latin (Thanks to Fast and Furious movies) and Japanese.
This is a good vibe
I love how the entire thing put together truly sounds like a real festival and not just some concert like the other games did, not that I didn't like them but this one just seems so much better
I bet the feeling of festival is from big man's Brazilian vibe.
@@mingchenzhang3113 very likely!

All thanks to big man. Its a big man concert.
@@hierarchyofmood1220 well, in a real festival the entire street would be packed, but then the player can’t move to the shops and lobby.
I get every vibe of a Japanese summer festival, a Bollywood dance mass, and Carnaval altogether, and I'm so in love with it!
Pure. Unrestrained. Freedom. That is what I feel from this game and it’s theme of chaos. Anyone is allowed to be who they want from wherever they want. That’s why I play Splatoon. Not just cause of the gameplay and story, but it understands human life better than many other video games.

their individual parts but omg, the part where they all sing together just activates something in my brain
It’s sooooo much fun in the first part of the splatfest to follow their individual floats around to hear each performer’s solo take on the song, and then it all comes together in the final half of the splatfest!
Frrrr, that part reverberates some deep part of my soul or smtn
Do you remember listening to this song 24/7 when the direct came out? Still a masterpiece
Yes I do! It brings much nostalgia sometimes when listening to it
Oh big time. This is the song that got me into splatoon! I had always been on the fringe of the splatoon fandom, but didn't think I'd be any good since I was awful at shooters. But hearing Anarchy Rainbow gave me the push I needed to purchase splatoon 3 and start playing! Since then, I've met so many amazing people and created art I never thought I'd never make, all because of Splatoon 3 and all because of Anarchy Rainbow.
I love the both modern and traditional sound. Like you'd hear at an Odori festival. Plus it sounds in part like something you'd hear in Carnival. I REALLY like it! It feels like big event music!
They mixed Japanese Matsuri and Samba together. Samba elements are so obvious to notice in this track, means it is Japan + Brazil
If we could combine everything we could say this mixes all of the styles listed here with a Japanese-Arabian-Brazillian inspired song. It doesn't have to sound like just one thing or two things. It's a mix of all three, just like Deep Cut, and it can definitely be heard in the music.
This is so exciting
What i hear is Japanese music, Arab instrumints topping it off with the spirit of samba! It sounds absolutely beautiful and amazing🥰💖💖
Yup, it's amazing! I mean judging from Frye's outfit, and her little belly dance, she's definitely got that Middle Eastern vibes and I love it. 😁
I wish all of Big Man's days to be full of eternal joy and love. Barely an hour since the direct ended and I already love him so much!

Frye is so iconic she chose to wear sliced mango as a fashion accessory
The creative direction of Splatoon is probably one of its best strengths imo. I don't even like online shooters or competitive games very much but I cant stop coming back to Splatoon for the world it created
A lot of people are analysing Frye's dancing style to determine her cultural inspiration, and while there's been a bit of debate surrounding that, I noticed something that points to her cultural inspiration a bit closer than her moves: the way her individual part of the song is sung. Specifically, it's in a more lively carnatic scale, a type of musical scaling used in South India.
That said, Big Man for life.
Gotta love the Brazilian Ray
So you’re saying that Frye is South Indian, Shiver is Tradition Japanese and Big Man is Samba Brazilien? Make sense

I love that their style is a mix of 3 different cultures, because it represents the way Splatsville was introduced as a place with all walks of life, as well as a lot of history. It's the perfect way to embody the "chaos" theme, both musically and in the setting. Considering this in tandem with the allegories to segregation in the 2nd game, they're the perfect trio for the 3rd installment. It shows how Inkopolis has grown past just being a place for Inklings.

I don't know why, but listening all this different cultures music together makes me real emotional
Music is a human language that every human understands
Much like spoken language there are different languages of music
But music is something you need to feel to understand
Diversity, unity, a celebration of what makes us unique and what brings us together. Such incredible talent to bring that message entirely in melody, with no understandable lyrics.
Japanese + Indian + Brazilian is EVERYTHING splatoon 3 has hit it out of the park with this amazing blend

Shiver gives more like east-asian vibes, and Frye has more of a south or south-eastern vibe. And also Big man just has this Brazilian vibe. I love it sm :’)
Actually its arab not Indian
@@Jean-wn8mf it’s not arab. It’s Indian. The music sounds very Bollywood-like and Frye’s headpiece is supposed to be either a mango (common fruit in India) or some other Indian dish.
They nailed the idea of chaos and anarchy. Shiver is based off old traditional Japanese dancers, Frye is a belly dancer, probably from India given the wear, and our boi, Big Man, is a Caribbean powerhouse.
Frye is more Thai/Indonesian dance wise. Maybe some Indian inspirations just based off the outfit and how she moves her feet/legs while dancing.

@UnfaithfulEvil 🅥 first of all you don’t have any content so why are you saying that your content is better?
ITS BEEN A YEAR SINCE THIS MASTERPIECE DROPPED!? Time really does go by 😭
haven’t seen anyone mention it yet I don’t think, but I love how it’s a parade!! The idols moving around some and not just on one stage is really neat!
Right??? I saw the moving stage platforms as parade floats that join to form the final performance stage and I think it makes the splatfest really *feel* like the festivals it's meant to be, not that past games haven't felt that way but rather this really leans into the notion hard and I'm living for it. I'm excited for the city of chaos!
Edit because I realize why it finally feels different. Not only does this lean into the festival aspect but the past Splatfests felt more like a concert than a festival. I know there are technically music festivals but Splatfest is mostly an all-around festival and if it did have to have a name it'd be a sports festival I think, so this feels more like what Splatfest shoule be and I love it! The old ones aren't bad but this feels the best to me
i love frye’s design and energy so much, it encapsulates the entire feel of this song!! i can’t wait for the release!!
But which is bigger? The energy she radiates, or her forehead?

I love how instead of going dark and edgy and possibly depressing by choosing Chaos we went the other way totally. Culture, Self-Expression, Freedom, and most importantly unity. It shows that through chaos can come change and that change can be beautiful.
I like this music, so distinct from the others this game looks like a huge improvement
@Shoka Lgbt don’t forget the silly little manta man
@Shoka Lgbt what about Marina?
@Shoka Lgbt pearl is asian! Hince her full name is pearl houzuki
@Shoka Lgbt Fr, and we cant forget the bigman himself, I love sting rays
@Shoka Lgbt You sure Frye isn't Iandian inspired?
This gives me chills everytime. It doesnt just sound like typical splatfest music, it sounds like a celebration

I still remember when the first game was shown off. People weren't sure if it'd be good or not due to the name, logo, and lack of info. Now it's got 3 entries and by far some of the sickest design I've seen for a Nintendo game. I've never even played a Splatoon game but damn if I don't respect its style.
you know what they say. STAY FRESH That's not only the squid sisters motto, but the motto of the series.
You should absolutely play it. If you like the style, you’ll love the game
Maybe someday. I just wish they'd rerelease the Splatoon 1 campaign. I'd like to give that a try sometime without having to buy a Wii U.
man COME ON IN
even if it’s hard(to get the game), I promise you’ll have fun!
you can always try the splatfest demo thats coming out on the 27th for splatoon 3 by the way if you're thinking about trying it. Its free if you have NSO
i am obsessed with this song! its so different, and it sounds like a festival. the idols are so unique!! i saw the title “rainbow anarchy” i assumed punk vibes or something like that. but really, its a combination of traditional japanese, brasilian, and south asian/middle eastern music. the elegant and modern mash-up is so different from the squid sisters and off the hook. a big part of anarchy is freedom, the sea critters are able to share their cultures proudly! that makes me so happy , the splatoon universe has come so far.:)
Yeah Its definetly Japanese, Brazilian and Indian music all together! So beautiful!
anarchy isnt freedom
anarchists think in a anarchic world they would be top dog,no lol it becomes dog eat dog....the 1st thing you should do in a anarchist society is delete all other anachists with prejudice
society cannot function without law and order, without that we revert to base instincts
only morons think it will be good lmao,in reality you will be enslaved and put to work lmao
@Omar BEN SALEM It hasn't been confirmed so we both could be wrong, but its fine that u hear Arab and I hear Indian. Both sound similar but are unique
@Omar BEN SALEM I think if you’re not sure south asian can also be used!
@Omar BEN SALEM With her design and how she dances I feel like she’s most likely Indian (I also hear Indian instruments) but ok believe what you like :)
can we just take a moment to appreciate the bass at 1:10
Splatoon 1: I missed all the Splatfests because I DIDN'T have a Nintendo Wii U...
Splatoon 2: I missed all the Splatfests because I DIDN'T have a Nintendo Switch...
But now...
Splatoon 3: I'm participating in ALL the Splatfests!!!
I’m so glad to see how far this game series has come and to see the community still as hyped and thriving really makes me smile 🥹. I honestly can’t wait to see what’s to come later on, but whatever happens I know it will be awesome.
@Shoka Lgbt booo inclusivity
@Shoka Lgbt I agree but you need to chill out

I love the cultural mishmash that takes place in the splatoon universe, because they're remnants of us humans they only know little bits and mix it all together into stuff like this. I love the Japanese festival vibe with the Brazilian Carnival esqe music, and Frye is wearing those pants i forgot the name of that they like to wear in India. she was doing cute lil belly dances! Im so excited to play this culture ispy with future details in this game
Why india and japan? Buddhism
My headcanon is that Inklings took the culture of our First World countries, and Octolings took the culture of the Third Worlds.
I gotta admit it’s very beautiful to see culture mishmashes like this, especially in music. I like to believe it’s what world peace looks like. 🥲
@@Teriiiyakiii Lol me too :]
@@joshuagabrielcatindig7607 "First world" and "third world" are very broad terms. There's too much diversity between these two categories.
And besides, Frye is an inkling and is middle-eastern themed, so this is disproven.
This song already brings back so much nostalgia
Who’s still here with me in 2023?
Same. I feel nostalgic already.
fr omg i miss the summer feelings of seeing this game for the first time through this video
Duuude this was so good during the splatfest. The worldly sound makes me think about all the combatants from around the globe converging to play.
Such a social thing altogether, with that awesome lobby art from players
