To those wondering about the lack of crowds, this concert was going to take place in Tokyo. However, they recently got bomb threats in Japan, so they have postponed it for safety. Hope this helps anyone unaware!

Glad they found a way to persevere. Happy splatoon is thriving in February between this and side order, to greatly enhance the game.

Daliah_727 People take games waaay too seriously and someone probably felt slighted by Nintendo somehow, whether that’s because of their terrible matchmaking or connections or refund policy, and they took it too far and ruined it for everyone

@@GracieReneeGiraffe there's a reason for that, security. the main reason why the concert was delayed in the first place was because Nintendo had been receiving threats prior to this event. so for everyone's safety, they still shoot the show, but without an audience :(

reason why i think everyone was mad was not just because their favorite idol didnt win, but people who knew about callie vs marie back in 2016 were *on edge.* if they somehow chose the wrong thing, or the wrong team won, who knows what could happen? sure, this time it wasnt the final fest, but it could impact the game thats currently still going through updates (at least this type of stuff was speculated when first anniv happened) luckily itr ended up only affecting some dialouge
however at the time i knew that was the least fun i had in a splatfest. i was more stressed that weekend than anything

@gunjak87 The event the concert was originally planned to take place in got cancelled because of complications- I think it was called nintendo live 2024, if you wanna look up morestuff, but I may be wrong
@@gunjak87 they cancelled the concert because of threats. nintendo didnt specify what kind of threats or how severe they were, but the concert was rescheduled and wasnt permitted to have a live audience

At 36:38 Marina tries to spin for the dance but the keyboard gets in her way so she isn't really able to, I really like the neat touches to make it seem more realistic with the minor mistakes here and there

I love that they give us these Sploon concerts especially since the idol/music group thing is a big part of what Splatoon is.
It really adds to my enjoyment of the game and makes the world feel more immersive.
I never knew how much I needed a trumpet, trombone, and baritone sax trio on splatoon songs but they KILLED IT.
Marina and Pearl slayed that so hard, and frye’s chaotic energy is so pure I love her so much 🤍
So many surprises on this concert alone.
Deep cut changing outfits, Frye charging Big Man during Big Betrayal part (lol), Off the Hook with their new costume, Frye & Pearl dynamics, and all ends with Anarchy Rainbow from both idol group. Truly one of the best Splatoon Live Concert of all time imo

That Big Betrayal and Anarchy Rainbow performance was AWESOME. Also Frye and Pearl interacting was an idol interaction I never knew I needed in my life.
It really sucks that this performance couldn't be safely held live, but I'm happy that they were able to gather and record a version of the concert for us to watch anyway. All of the musicians are so talented, I'm glad we get to see them rocking out before the idols perform. Also, timestamps for myself:

im so glad they focused on deep cut and their dances more than random, uneven zoom outs/close ups and cuts to the band. the last performance we barely got to see any of the choreography and had to zoom in ourselves to see them. the camera quality is much better as well, and it has good saturation and contrast so they dont look gray. till depth do us part was amazing and is my favorite song out of the others in the set list
