When they put the names of the paint colors up on the screen, it looks like when they show the names of the actors at the beginning of a TV show. It's a colorful cast.
Well, if you think about it, the paint/colors is/are like the actors/stars of the show, Bob Ross is just the director, telling them were to go, what to do and how to do it...

Yeah, Bob Ross and his paints created their own little world together. But yeah, that's a good analogy to call him the director who directed his paints as the actors in the drama and story of the painting. I like that. I also sometimes hear people compare painting to music, so we could also say he was like the conductor and the paints were the performers who performed the symphony of color on the canvas.

Bob just makes everybody feel like they can do something they view as challenging. He quietly inspires and gives us confidence to try. After all, the worst that can happen is that we make happy, little accidents. He gently reminds us that practice is the key. Sadly, there is absolutely no one else like Bob.

Free floating anxiety and I’ve struggled with depression as well, sometimes it feels like you’re sinking, but the way Mr. Ross speaks: the sound of his voice, his word choice, and constant direct encouragement and confidence in his viewers is so peaceful and helpful. My daughter loves painting. She took a class in school last year and she wants to take another this year. I told her to watch this channel that Bob Ross could show her how to do a lot of things. Then she could really impress her teacher.

I think this is one of Bob's most beautiful paintings and one of my favorites. I made one for my late aunt, but it got lost, so I get to make another one.
I used to watch Bob Ross when I was in High School. I always loved how it made it look so easy. I'm 46. I graduated High School in 1988. My mother, brother, grandmother, sister were all painters and artists. I am an artist but I write music mostly. I feel the pull to painting all the time. One of these days I'll take the plunge and start painting. Love Bob Ross!!

You know, I was watching a youtube video for Fallout 4 by a guy named, “Oxhorn.” He was unintentionally doing a Bob Ross impression, and was constantly apologizing for the accent. I saw a comment on that video that said, “I couldn’t forgive you if you didn’t sound like Bob Ross! Bob Ross is awesome!” People really love Bob Ross, and I understand why. He has such a positive outlook on life, and always leaves joy and hapiness in his wake. Wherever Bob Ross’s spirit is right now, I wish him the best.

Years ago when I listened to repeats of Bob Ross on television, I would fall asleep halfway through an episode. The sounds of his painting instruments on the canvas and his voice are sleep-inducing.

BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL SETTING
This painting, this one SCREAMS color! The deep rich blue waterfall, the many shades of green, from a more yellow to a more true green, the white/light blue mountain with a blue mist. This painting is one of the best of this series to me, at least, better then the past one. Simple things like a rock at the bottom of the fall, and how the water splashes so realistically. to the row of dark trees with no color in the background to make it seem like it's so far away, you can't make them out. I notice all of it and enjoyed this all so thoroughly. What a superb painting, and a superb *painter* as well~

LINK HAVING A VIETNAM FLASHBACK That is, just unbelievably touching, flattering, and sweet. Thank you for the compliment. But no body can replace Bob. I just enjoy typing, typing my thoughts, and making the community in his videos a little happier and peaceful. I see comments just saying "hwite" and all, and yeah it's funny but, it's not wholesome. Sure it's at least better then some hate comment, but I like doing this to show that people really do care. :)

You know, something I really like about the painting style is that through little things like the pattern of bristles on a brush, or how paint comes off a knife, creates so many little intricacies and details, as if it was all painstakingly put in individually. It creates little things that give everything it's own little history and story.
I think Bob is right when he says it's a painting style for lazy people.
