- Finally back, so sorry this upload got delayed so much. Had some personal issues to deal with, family visiting and all that stuff. As far this run though, I definitely recommend. This is probably one of the most fun New Vegas runs I've done. It definitely isn't a hard run or anything but it is super entertaining, as well as embodying Frank Horrigan and just wreaking havoc across the Mojave. Now I want to go play Fallout 2 again...

Smitty Special could be an alternative to the normal Plasma Caster due to the fact Frank's unique plasma weapon in FO2 fired in bursts. Still, cool video.
Yeah I really thought about it but the thing is, there is no way for me to justify gambling at the casinos for the 20k I’d need to buy it as Frank. Like, nobody is gonna casually let some big badass super mutant in power armor just sit down at a blackjack table.

@@vibes_4225 oh definitely but I still would’ve needed the regular caster for that anyways, so I didn’t really feel the need to spend 3 hours farming and merchant resetting for the smitty. Plus the run was already unbalanced as is 🤣

Tbf I wanted to do this as vanilla as possible, since people get mad at me when I use mods for challenge runs.

@@dierebosbro you have a mod that adds locations that aren’t in the vanilla game and you’re entering those locations, i dont think a power armour mod that you can customise is gonna change much

So odd how since the Fallout TV show, Frank Horrigan has just jumped in searches and such. Everyone's thinking of him. I know I looked him up recently thinking, "Could he make a return? I know he 'died' on an oil rig, maybe he-oh... his head exploded... guess that's a no." lol
I do hope we can get someone LIKE Frank, like a PHYSICAL threat in Fallout again. Every threat since him have been a group. I'd like to have someone whos' not only a threat because of the group they're in, but also just a PHYSICAL threat.
I hope we see someone like Frank Horrigan again in the future...
If they go back to NV in season 2 like they are planning, and the legion is still present, assuming Lanius is alive he could very well be a threat. But yeah I agree, it would be badass to have another big Motherfucker that just terrifies everyone. We need a big bad boss again.
They could do a Brotherhood of Steel thing instead and have someone the equivalent of Brotherhood of Steel's Version of Frank Horrigan.

about the ncr fighting the enclave, arcade tells you about how the NCR were the ones to wipe out the navarro outpost entirely, so they definitely helped push the enclave into the state it is in currently on the west coast.
Hmm...kinda cant just "move past that"... Frank Horrigan was EXTREMELY devoted to the cause of the Enclave...100% doesnt not make any sense that because he didnt "like" some of the solders that he wouldnt be Enclave ride or die....
He regularly just killed enclave soldiers that annoyed him so uh yeah, I can just move past that.
@@dierebosprobs a better reason is that the Enclave remnants are disillusioned old timers who are no longer dedicated to the Enclave
@@dierebosif you encounter Frank Horrigan early in fallout 2 and he kills you he'll offer the soldiers with him to go out for lunch so I reckon he only killed disloyal soldiers
@@CirBam24 well also you could argue that the remnants are also so old they’re no longer fit for combat and Frank views them as liabilities.
@@matius7260 there is lore that I’ve looked into when I was researching stuff for the run that states that soldiers never wanted to work with Frank because he terrified them and was known for just killing soldiers he viewed as useless.

On Nv? I have not, I played a similar mod on fo4 though.

6:07 that's actually false. There's a cutscene in Fallout 2 where he kills a Brotherhood of steel member in a bunker alongside two guards and after he kills them he asks them if they would like to have lunch with him. There's a reason he has 10 charisma

Ah, you might have missed the Khans in Boulder City. They might be the ones showing up at the dam, since they’re so close by and all.
Im just thinking about how fucking fast you move while being that big, along with the sprint mod and i guarantee you could outrun a deathclaw

Lorewise frank had to be injected with chemicals to live and in this run you didnt even get close to that
I believe that if you made your character dependent on every drug it would be slightly harder and more lore accurate

The enclave uses plasma will the legion main enemy is the ncr using ballistic weapons not energy which is what the enclave uses so there’s you are why there so weak

I don’t think Wild Card is a very fitting ending for Horrigan. I’d say House is the best since he’d literally be siding with an American citizen. That or Legion out of ruthlessness, become the better Legate.
House wouldn’t be supporting the enclave, and would be considered direct competition, whereas with wild card Frank is literally taking Vegas himself for the enclave.

ncr did actually get rid of the enclave after fallout 2 arcade tells you all about it if you do his quest
I figured as much since they were pretty much crippled due to the chosen one and had to go to the east coast to try and salvage things.
I commented a Frank Horrigan joke on one of Nerbit's videos and this comes out a few days later from a different youtuber.

The NCR did fight the Enclave in Fallout 2. They got destroyed even though they had a defense pact with the Brotherhood at the time.
Also, once the oil rig was destroyed and the Enclave remnants retreated to Navarro, the NCR chased them and human waved them until they broke. Then spent absurd money on bounties so that they could never regroup.
That’s actually when the NCR and Brotherhood had a falling out; both wanted the tech left in Navarro and the NCR wouldn’t hand it over.
should have killed Marcus and Cass. its pretty much canon that marcus was with the chosen one and Cass's dad when they killed Horrigan

The problem you had with the plasma caster sounds like a problem I had when I tried to get just a Tesla-Beaton prototype running, I think the game balances the massive damage of heavy energy weapons by giving them very low accuracy.
Yeah which, I mean, if we aren’t sniping with the caster, it’s a fuckin monster. I think with my energy skill maxed out it was chilling at like 100 dmg per shot almost which in close range, everything is basically cooked. Especially with how high crit chance you can get energy weapons in NV.
@@dierebos Energy weapon crits are broken yesterday I got the safety deposit box achievement and on my way back from Dead Money o got the Tesla-Beaton again just for memes, i was 2 taping Caesar's praetorian guard with an energy wepon skill of 23.
@@questionmarks4431 yeah really dude, like crit builds with YCS or the tri beam laser, are absolutely fucking nuts. I mean I was ripping through dclaws at like level 5 with an energy skill of 40-50 so it is definitely broken.

I find it funny that Frank wanted to kill mutants but he was a mutant himself.
So the thing is, he never viewed himself as a mutant. Not sure why, but he just didn’t consider himself anything other than human.

House wouldn’t give Vegas over to the enclave. As far as Frank is concerned he’s just another roadblock to capturing Vegas for the enclave.
