It's a great video, but I would really like a guide or load order for integrating Viva New Vegas stuff, especially since some of it was seemingly shown in the video. Even just an overview of potential incompatibilities would be helpful.

@MetalMilitia83 i got you my brother in atom. step1 start fallout new vegas vanilla new game, Step2 watch the cutscene for the first time since 2012 Step3 fully immerse yourself as a courier getting paid to deliver a fancy poker chip while you listen to benny's shpeil about "im killing you cuz you supposed to die" step4 alt+f4 when he shoots you, lay back and close your eyes. Now you are dead :) immersed
Only problem with this modlist is adding gasoline as a fuel source for the Highwayman. Gasoline and other fossil fuel being basically depleted was the main reason for the bombs dropping in Fallout. Fallout 2's Highwayman used fuel cells to electrically charge the engine.

My 3,476 mods New Vegas save begging for mercy after a new Mutant Mods video drops.
How do you merge plugins and where we can see screenshots, video or modlist of your game? I got only 865 installed mods because of 255 limit of plugins, this why i skiped over a 100+ mods.

I think there could be a lot more of them, if modders made it a rule to always make ESPless mods whenever possible or one ESP for their collections, but not everyone wants to do this, even if they know how, for some reason. Just like Todd not wanna see NV Remaster as a Special Edition with x64 exe.

From the Vault where the guy sent many mercenaries, I think the plant life mutated them into the humanoid plants you fight there.

I thought the plant monsters were the original inhabitants of the Vault.
@ButtonMasherReal : I wish they had something to confirm that, like if you kill one and they had the vault suit on them or mix the plant bodies with the vault suit? Because you do have Skeletons in there so I thought they were the original vault dwellers.
@@Patches_Gaming it's confirmed in-game via terminal entries that the Spore Carriers that you fight in Vault 22 were originally humans that were overcome by an experimental fungi that the Vaults scientists were working with.
It was later reiterated in the Honest Hearts DLC via both Vault 22 dwellers being present in the Survivalists Logs & Spore Carriers being present in Zion.
Some of them, sure, but a few bodies, and more signs of the mercs, actually makes good sense too. Plus finding signs of a fight before you encounter the hostiles mskes sense too.
At the same time as I think about how beautiful asphalt looks with these textures, I think "How on earth would asphalt stay black after 200 years of erosion?" Excellent video as always.
As someone who has regularly upkept asphalt, it would not. It fades within 6 months.

@@rodrikforrester9343 Pretty sure you don’t get ad revenue, and the video doesn’t get recommended to people as much. It also can’t be watched by anyone not signed in to a UA-cam account.

So, I may be wrong, but I don’t think the enableBigGuns tweak makes any guns actually use the big guns skill. Thus, without a mod to do so, the Big Guns skill would be a waste.

(These are conservative and actual Presbyterian churches)

Someone needs to make a mod that plays the Highwayman theme anytime you use it for long periods of time.
I didn't realize JSawyer is of the original members and lead designer of Black Isle. His name pops out everywhere in Nexus and I thought he was just a random top contributing author.
Thanks for mentioning Viva New Vegas! I think it's an almost necessary guide and should be talked about way more in modding videos because a lot of people just go modding without all the necessary precautions and that can bite hard. (Me, I did that and I was so relieved when I found the guide)

Viva new vegas is the best for the prequisites, but then you can mod stuff to your hearts content after that. (Provided you pay attention to compatability)

8:57 "Radiant" is what Bethesda calls their system that reacts to the player's actions; it didn't exist in the Interplay games. Radiant quests are little more than the combination of a randomly chosen dungeon with a randomly chosen loot item and randomly chosen enemies. OTOH, becoming a guard for the Crimson Caravan and a prize fighter in New Reno were the goals of quests intentionally designed by humans, making them decidedly un-radiant.

Radiant is just a fancy word for: "Yeah we wanted to add a side quest but didn't have any ideas for a detailed backstory. So just go kill some random guy at a random place.
Allowing you to have more companions based on Charisma, holy shit Charisma isn't a dead stat anymore. I hate having Companions in general but having a Companion centric build with high Charisma and dumping all your points into Speech, Repair, Med, Science, and Barter would be kinda interesting.
It used to be actually viable back then. I had a Charisma-centric build on FO2 that relied upon stealth, diplomacy and using companions as bodyguards. It was tough at first, but became quite enjoyable the more companions I got.

I really appreciate the power armor mod. The fact that it's not just a metal suit you put on but rather an exoskeleton you get yourself into that makes you not only stronger but much more imposing is what has been sourly missed in FO3 and NV.
It's one of the few things that Fallout 4 absolutely nailed.
They made it different. I personally can't stand using f4 power armour

It wants to be immersive and shit but decides to be half transparent for no reasons and some elements are left untouched instead of being changed to fit the Power Armor
They should have committed more to the bit imo
I had no idea how lacking NV power armor was until I saw the upgrade, the vanilla was really disgraceful.
Another big part of the classic fallout aesthetic was the fact that you just straight up couldn’t see the sky, I wonder if there’s a way to recreate that closed off isolated feel
Locking the camera to 3rd person would be the best bet, or positioning the camera at a weird downwards angle
@@jackrichardson4089the problem is that this would make the combat very weird and difficult, not only that but it would change combat and feel so much that you may as well play the original games at this point.
Camera plays a very important role in everything, from movies to videogames to life itself, perspective is all.

Was hoping for a classic combat mod but I guess this is as good as we can get it.
My guy, this looks FENOMENAL, this the one if not the best mod compilation I've seen, it really encapsulated the feeling of a 3d version of classic fallout games.
The mutants always looked like aardman characters to me.

I recommend the MUX Series Interface for a truly classic look. Actually implements the whole classic hud and makes changes to the hidden and in-combst status with a floating head icon

I've recently started tale of two wastelands. Definitely gonna add a few of these mods.
if you havent played it, Fallout new california is also worth giving a playthrough, its the best DLC sized mod for nv IMO, fan made questline/worldpsace prequel to new vegas, and it does have a fair bit of that classic fallout feel to it, miles better than the frontier
I dont know how but I remember trying to become the top 1 boxer in a Fallout game. Ive only played 3, New Vegas and 4 and dont install mods so I dont know why I have such vivid memories of that boxing mod.

A WONDERFUL mod that I recently discovered is “No Sleep Till Goodsprings” and really deserves a place on this list - it’s a beautiful overhaul of goodsprings that turns it into an adobe village and moves many of the buildings around and changes their landscapes. I really love what they did with doc Mitchell’s house and the bar

I always thought the mercs that they sent to the vault before you became sporecarriers (also fallout bible/apocrapha says that goris is dead and I tend to agree with my hatred of talking deathclaws or talking animals in general)

Goris being dead was never confirmed. Goris even shows up in the fallout fan movie, which also includes the original creators as characters

The adobe buildings are super nice, and it makes perfect sense! Why is it that 200 years after the apocalypse, people are finding it somehow EASIER to make buildings out of huge chunks of sharp, jagged, rusty scrap metal, rather than out of adobe which is literally just some mixture of soil/sand/silt and dry straw!? In a place as hot and dry as the Mojave, imagine the kind of awful insulation those metal shacks have, compared to thick adobe walls that actually keep the inside cool! It also looks way more POST-post-apocalypse this way, much more believable!
I loved your graphics and vanilla combat improvement modlists for NV, they made my first time playing new vegas feel much more modern, so I wanted to ask if you have ever considered doing Oblivion or other bethesda game mod lists?

Why NVR3? It requires FCO, which is a mod to avoid, Character Expansions revised or New Vegas Redesigned 2 revised are more stable.
Its a bit complicated, but you don't even need to have MCO active in the mod list. Just donwload it, have active as a mod, and disable/get rid of any esps or esms.

Watching this makes me realize how bethesda (and ofc also obisidian) did a great job in making all the creatures pretty close to the original to begin with as most changes are just slight color adjustments.

Nothing is more immersive than hearing NPC voiced by troons with their xbox live microphones in their bedrooms.

Might be a good time for the devs to revisit some of those mods and re voice them with AI Generated voices based on already existing NV NPCs because in all honestly, while i appreciate the voiced NPCs, ignoring the obvious lack of voice acting talent, some of these people who recorded these lines could at the very least invest in a semi decent mic.
Personally don't like titans of the new west. Looks less intimidating and more silly.
