Ha ha, sorry about that. There's still a chance we'll see some or all of the material used in future games, but it's likely to be an unofficial or fan-made project.
These design documents are a bounty of ideas for Fallout related creative works. I'm using them as inspiration for my own version of a Fallout tabletop RPG.
I love this playlist you are providing. I'm a lore explorer of Van Buren myself, and It was useful to me too because it was extremely well presented, ordinated and well done overall. Please keep bringing more episodes on Van Buren regarding the other locations and quests.
Thanks, Mortebianca! I definitely plan on continuing the Van Buren series for the foreseeable future. While it doesn't get the best view numbers, it's a series that I've had a lot of fun working on.
I only know pretty little about Van Buren besides what was recycled in New Vegas and the concept art, so these videos are pretty damn educational and interesting!
Considering that Obsidian is owned by Microsoft,& Bethesenda might be hurting for income if ElderScrolls 6 doesn't do well, this might actually happen. Fingers crossed
No. It's a term referring to a little town in middle of nowhere. In the english translation of Mother, Ninten is from a town called Podunk rather than Mother's Day Town
You know there's a lot of story that's been released. Sounds like they pretty much had the base story togeather and with a few tweaks could've finished the main story. Shame we'll never see it.
I thought Tibbets was a real place. They never mention any inspiration from Leavenworth on any of the Fallout wiki's where I did research on Van Buren. I also didn't know C.O.D.E was mind control and that was how Victor's got the player and the other prisoners imprisoned. I didn't know about half of the prisons rooms, the CRBS in Denver, that Caesar's Legion was supposed to be a lead in for Fallout 4 and the supply lines between settlements. I also didn't know that Big Mountain was one of dozens of things from Van Buren that were used in the latter games
Fort Leavenworth is real, but Tibbets is fictional. From what I understand, the original intent was for both locations to appear in Van Buren. As development moved forward, they ended up combining both locations into a single one - keeping the Tibbets name, but still using the Fort Leavenworth reference material. If you look at the "Area Background" section of the Tibbets Design Document, it's literally just a copy/paste of info about Fort Leavenworth, taken directly from the National Park Service website. They just replaced "Fort Leavenworth" with "Tibbets."
God, when did they run out of such interesting ideas for Fallout? Fallout 4 is fun to *play,* but it has nothing interesting in the world about it. It was so fucking bland. Do the same people who wrote all of this still work on Fallout or?
No. The whole reason why we don't have this game is because fallout was bought by Bethesda. Thank god Microsoft bought Bethesda, maybe they won't ruin as many games.
@@rouge5140 I see a lot of people complaining about Fallout 4 but I don't mind the playstyle of Fallout 4. I've actually played it for well over 600 hours. I just want more RPG elements and interesting stories and characters. Everything in Fallout 4 felt so bland and washed down.
Why couldn't Bethesda just give us this game? seriously, all they have to do is take this story and drop it in one of the magnificent worlds they are known for creating.if they did that they would have something truly unique!
True, especially Bethesda or Bugthesda if you prefer lol, the road they seem to be going down as of now is highly concerning IMO, have you seen the recent fallout trailers/news? Online only smh. at this point they dont seem to care about the rpg elements of there games its kind of sad,as they create amazing worlds! luckily Cd Project Red picked up the Torch and seems to be running with it! so theres still some hope in that regard. just not for my beloved fallout...unfortunately.

Keep in mind, this was being developed during a period where Interplay's new CEO was trying to revamp the franchise into something more action-oriented and "radical." You can see a lot of that mindset in the revamped designs used for games like Fallout Tactics, Brotherhood of Steel, and the cancelled Fallout Extreme FPS game. They often used a visual style seemingly inspired by 90s comic books. In this particular case, the developers for FOVB were trying to emulate the style used in Fallout: Tactics. They included several reference images drawn from FOT throughout the design documents.
It physically hurts when you say "the fallout game you will never play"
Ha ha, sorry about that.

Salt Lake Stories is a mod for New Vegas that is basically Van Buren but on a much smaller scale.
Check out the mod Fallout yesterday, recreation of van burden in fallout 2 engine that follows the design documents and demo that was released
@@RetconRaiderhopefully obsidian makes another fallout consider how disappointing starfield was

"Back with another video about the Van Buren project, the Fallout sequel, that we'll never get to play!"
Just had to rub it in didn't you :'(
Sorry!
0:07 "The Fallout sequel we'll never get to play." *LAUGHS IN FALLOUT: REVELATION BLUE*
Is it out yet?
This is certainly something that would be neat, a New Vegas prequel.
The story of van buren would have to be shifted in certain places to fit with new vegas but it would definitely be great prequel
Agreed, they would really only have to alter a couple minor things, and only change one location to make it fit with New Vegas lore.
Or just a Fallout sequel, as intended
Stumbled upon this while trying to pinpoint the real life coordinate location of the Big Empty and the Divide.
Instant sub tho.
Really appreciate the videos man, you’ve really flushed these out from more then just text on a page
I only know pretty little about Van Buren besides what was recycled in New Vegas and the concept art, so these videos are pretty damn educational and interesting!
Funny how the Big MT was the original idea that had been split between two contents for later being reacembled in new vegas
I really wish Obsidian could get the fallout license again, so we could get a fallout in the pillars of eternity engine.
Interplay still exists www.interplay.com/
Fallout 76 had a very low budget. I believe It's come to an end, hopefully, Microsoft may buy it and hand it over to the Obsidian.
@@OXY187 Bethesda will never sell fallout.

Thanks, Gavin!
I watch these videos whenever I have the chance thanks for making such awesome videos on all these documents!
Day 1 of Trying to Bust Out Of Tibbets : Ran into the force field of my cell got 2nd degree burns.
Day 2 of escaping tibbets : dismanteled the metal frame of the bed and tried to tinker with the force field emitter ... got electrocuted.
Day 3 of escaping tibbets : threw the bed into the force field , got asphyxiated by the smoke.
Day 4 of escaping tibbets : tried to kick down the metal wall , leg got crippled.
Day 5 of escaping tibbets : dismanteled the intercom and nailed the magnets to the wall behind the force field emitter hoping it will glitch.
Fallout: Van Buren is the best RPG game that was never made.

I heard mentions of a Baldur's Gate III. Which could give it a run for its m,,oney.
Podunk has to be a reference to the South Park movie song.
