    This video was automatically demonetized by UA-cam's content-scanning algorithm.

      This is ridiculous! It's almost like UA-cam doesn't want people to make content any more.

      try making a new channel and mirror uploading to both this and that, and if it doesnt happen to the other one, make a video directing everyone over to the other channel to bypass this, after all as WInston Churchill's Parriot was famous for saying, Fuck these nazis lol and their fake news spewing asses lol

      I have. They usually end up remonetizing the videos within a day or two, but it still ends up costing me the bulk of my views. It also seems to mess with the search results.
      @Kavinsky Smith
      I'm not really sure that would help. Lately, it appears that UA-cam's bot has started flagging over 90% of all videos, regardless of their content.

    • @kavinskysmith4094
      @kavinskysmith4094 7 років тому +3

      hmm how about setting the video to private for a day or two until its remonitized after publishing, as I think most people could wait a day if it means that you get your proper due?

    B.o.S. in Power Armor AND using Stealth-Boys? Shiiiiiiiieeeeet. . !
    That's kind of terrifying, especially if they modified their armors to be "silent" in conjunction with the gadget. They'd be like the Night-Kin.

    and you know fallout 4's brotherhood is the first one I ever actually purposely destroyed really, as I hated them that much, I went to their base of operation at the blimp and used hit and run tactics to pull everyone one by one and cleared out the entire base this way, the funniest part though, that idiot brotherhood of steel companion, that buzz lightyear looking idiot, still wanted me to join him at the aerospace building after doing his quest afterwards.

      Reminder to everyone, but especially all the NV babbies who pretend they went back and played the Black Isle games, the Brotherhood were huge dicks back then, too. Rhombus was a pretty reasonable dude, but they outright try to get you killed when you first ask if they need anything, and without Rhombus as the sole good example in charge they turn into power armored tech raiders.

      The main story is great and some parts like hoover dam and others too. It just seems devs focused too much on Tribals and artificial intelligence for some reason. It can still be a great game with bit of changes. Besides this is not the final document.

    Hey, do you know if the Great Midwest Commonwealth is still supposed to be a nation in the area or is it all gone? I know they mention it in the modern games but are they referring to a new nation like the NCR or just the old world Midwest Commonwealth that has since been destroyed?

    • @RetconRaider
      @RetconRaider  6 років тому +6

      Hm, well, I'd say that it was probably destroyed just like everything else during the Great War in 2077.
      Certain parts of it survived, and are mentioned in the other games, but I don't think it could be considered a real state anymore.
      From what I'm seeing, the vast majority of information about it came from Fallout: Tactics, which doesn't count. Only Chicago and Detroit are mentioned in "official" games.
      Even then, we barely know anything about them. New Vegas mentions that there's an Enclave outpost in Chicago, and all references to Detroit are from before the Great War.

    • @RetconRaider
      @RetconRaider  7 років тому +7

      None of the endings are canon. Official word from Todd Howard is that "Fallout: Tactics" is entirely non-canon.
      They're vaguely referenced in Fallout 3, but it's limited to very basic information. They exist, they went rogue, they fought super mutants in Chicago.

      I think part of the problem was that the writers for Fallout Tactics didn't really coordinate with the guys who wrote the other Fallout games.

      Eh, to be fair, the show basically rewrote some pretty major canon for the entire franchise. Which is fair, it's Bethesda's baby these days, and they want to make it their own.
      My analysis of the documents is more about what could have been, rather than what ended up being. :)

    I'd bet anything that the fourth NCR President Wendall Peterson was named as a tip of the hat to the pre war US Senator Peterson. I'd also bet that the West Coast Brotherhood of Steel's infighting inspired the references to such events that were in 3, New Vegas and 4, and the Maxson Bunker losing contact with the Brotherhood in California inspired the East Coast and Mojave Brotherhoods losing connection to the Brotherhood in 3 and New Vegas. Lastly I'd bet it also inspired the similar problems between the Brotherhood of Steel at both the Maxson Bunker and the Mojave chapter. Also from an earlier video I forgot that Dogmeat was inspired by the dog in Mad Max. Wait 2256? You mean that the events of Van Buren were going to take place over the span of several years? I'd bet that Traci wanting to take leadership from Brixley inspired to feud between McNamara and Hardin for leadership of the Mojave Brotherhood of Steel chapter in Fallout New Vegas too.
    I didn't know that the Brotherhood of Steel and the Desert Rangers were some of the many things that were from Wasteland that were used in the Fallout series. I also didn't know that the Brotherhood NCR War started in the late 2240's or that the Fallout Bible mentioned possible ties between the Brotherhood of Steel and the NCR before the first Fallout game. I didn't know that the Brotherhood of Steel started the war against the NCR because the NCR was gathering old Enclave technology after the NCR defeated them at Navarro or the "alternate" reason that was going to be in Van Buren that it started by the NCR claiming Hoover Dam. I didn't know that the Brotherhood NCR war played a catalyst to Victor's plan. I didn't know that Poseidon Oil, the Enclave, and Vault-Tec helped Senator Peterson build his bunker or that it was built in 2067. I forgot that the unofficial Maxson that was going to be mentioned in Van Buren was called Jeremy and I didn't know that Van Buren was going to state that he was the Brotherhood of Steel's leader during Fallout 2. I also forget that the Elder at the Maxson Bunker was called Andrea Brixley and that she was promoted to General too. I didn't know that that the exploration team was made up of five Paladins or that they forged relations with the Ciphers and other tribals in the area. I never heard of Reggie Billings, Tracy Neils and Jerry Corsetti or their responsibilities before. I also didn't know about the desertions at the Maxson Bunker till now. I also never heard of Davis Hewitt or that he was caught trying to desert until now either. I didn't know about the Brotherhood of Steel's use of stealth boys in Van Buren or that the Brotherhood of Steel fought against the Master's army. I knew of Van Buren's version of the Circle of Steel but I didn't know how and why they were created and that they settled somewhere away from the Maxson Bunker and attacked NCR caravans. I didn't know that the player could find out about the location of the Maxson Bunker at Hoover Dam from Pierre LaPoubelle (never heard of him either). I didn't know that the door to the bunker was the same as the Vault doors. I didn't know that the Brotherhood of Steel at the Maxson Bunker couldn't detect the New Plague though it make sense. I didn't know that Isaac Grant locked down the Armory before he deserted and that the player could convince him to tell them how to unlock it. I didn't know that Elder Brixley was dying and I forgot that she was being poisoned. I forgot that Glen Deering was the Elder in love with Brixley. I never heard of the investigation either. I also never heard of Tamara and Jon Young, Edward and Sarah Whatley, and Devon Hill before or all this info about them. I knew of Ailis McLafferty and her conspiracy to become governor at Hoover Dam but I didn't know that she sent supplies to Devon Hill or that the player would have to go to Hoover Dam to find out where the Circle of Steel is and that there at a village they conquered. I also didn't know that the player would have to lay siege on the village and that their were only twelve members there. I didn't know that the NCR would come back to retake Fort Abandon either or that the player could establish a trade route between Hoover Dam and the Maxson Bunker. I didn't know about the side quests as well. I didn't know that the Brotherhood of Steel and Cipher alliance you mentioned in your Mesa Verde videos also included one with the Ciphers and the Circle of Steel or that the Circle of Steel could take over the Maxson Bunker. I didn't know that the official Circle of Steel was an Internal Affairs section of the Brotherhood of Steel but it makes sense since they ordered Elijah to be assassinated.
    It sounds so das and unlike fallout to have the Maxson Bunker be an optional place to go to and that the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave was planned to diminish into nothingness later on if Interplay and Black Isle Studios continued the Fallout series

    2:10 what? Before the first game? So, back when they were still Vault 15 or just Shady Sands?
    I mean, that _could_ work, I guess, but it really sounds kind of stupid. That... might be my admitted bias against Chris Avellone speaking, though. Make the guy work within the constraints of a team, he turns out fine. Give him sole creative control, and you get a final boss that's just a mouthpiece for his overinflated opinion of his ideas and his absolute hysterical hatred for the ideas of everyone else. Twice.

    • @RetconRaider
      @RetconRaider  2 роки тому +2

      I'd have to review my notes, but I think it was more that he believed the BoS had been formative in helping the NCR come into existence in the first place - whether intentionally or not.
      But that aside, yeah, I always eye the Fallout Bible with some skepticism because large parts of it are purely based on Avellone's personal interpretations or preferences about the setting.
      For example, if you just went by the FO Bible, you'd think that psychics all died out after the original game - when they've actually been included in almost every single Fallout game since then. :P

    • @passingrando6457
      @passingrando6457 2 роки тому +3

      @@RetconRaider hey, thanks for the nuanced response. That's possible, and Rhombus at least was big on helping people out and distributing useful technology when the BoS deemed it safe for the wasteland to use. The rest of the BoS in 1 are such huge dicks I kind of forget about that part.
      And yeah, I really don't like the way Avellone wanted to steer the franchise. No psykers, no talking mutant animals. Felt like he wanted to yank out the absurdity that's been a part of the series' pedigree since it was Wasteland. I respect his work, he's genuinely written for some of the best parts of the setting, but his creative ideals for it are divisive.
