I can't help thinking Celebrimbor must have been a bit over-rated as a smith if he had never heard of alloys before. Which is remarkable as they are all wearing worked gold jewelry containing stones, which as we all know is an impossibility with pure gold due to its malleability.

Ithildin was the name given to alloys made with Mithril. Nenya was the only ring made from pure Mithril. Khazad-dûm wasn't only place it was found, hints in lore was mined in Numenor and Aman. Was in Khazad-dûm that the Dwarves found it in abundance.
I still don't understand why Galadriel had to give up her dagger. Surely the elves have other weapons and jewelry that come from Valinor that hold less meaning than her oath dagger.
Lol it wasn’t about the dagger it was more about endings and beginnings. She needed to give up that burden, the dagger was a stark reminder of her brother and all the hatred she has. It was about her giving all that up and putting it into something pure, something powerful…something beautiful.
its pure and i think its because its the weapon used by her to hunt sauron... any other weapon with gold/silver will just fail in comparison or not gonna be that pure...

Now if it was about what the dagger meant to Galadriel that made it special I wish they would have been more clear

They have made a nice little story but it has nothing to do with the books. If the stranger is Gandelf they have really gone off the track. If you don't know Gandelf and the other four wizards were sent by the Valar as angles in human form. They arriver in ships from the west with Gandelf being the last to arrive and he was given one of the rings of power. Mithril is just a metal and had nothing to do with saving the lives of the Elves. Nice story but nothing to do with the book.

They were created with the gift of ring lore, which comes from Sauron. So the 3 rings were still tied to his being even without him creating them directly himself
@@jesseanthony see that's what doesn't make sense too me. If dark magic was used as part of this ring lore I could better understand but from my perspective if an evil person describes to me how to make spaghetti that wouldn't make my dinner evil. I don't know, it just seems thin to me.
