16 h X $300 = 4,800, a relative bargain. Add in $2,000 each way for transport.
$31,000
wanna bet the insurance only paid half because they're crooks
I'm always amazed by how the paint doesn't crack or break off.
It often does, but these people rarely show the paint failures.
@@dsmbilly3690 ah that could be the reason. They only show what's successful.
How much was the repair cost?
Paint today is not like it was years ago or this technique would not work.
@@paulchristenson5256Yeah back in the 70s and 80s that paint would have flaked off and exposed area would have had at least surface rust.
That was some incredible work. I have seen paintless dent removal but you guys are straight up pros. Got to be up there with the best of the best
That was amazing! What a nice job. That guy made the right decision. What patience and determination.
Hi Matt, this is an absolutely amazing repair.......an incredible amount of skill. Well done my friend
Wow, thanks!
To do that in 2 days, staggered sat here!
@@mattboyette4375 Really curious the cost of this repair, given the traditional methods cost, and how hard this was and level of skill involved.
@@heyaisdabomb
Me too. 2 days of work. 16 hours at how much per hour?
I would never have believed this could be done. Outstanding work sir.
Gotta love a man who has perfected his craft over many years. Excellent job brother!!
A really good PDR guy is worth his weight in gold. I know this personally. Great work!
2:21 was always amazed at how few panel gaps the rivian had. And I understand now that it is in fact a pain and comes at quite the cost.
Yup, this truck is closer to an iPhone than a Blackberry. Something that looks pretty vs something actually designed to do work.
@@noseboop4354 problem is the engineers got lost in the lightness and aerodynamics and didn't consider repairs
Wow, my brother owns a dentless paint repair business in So Cal. I've seen a lot of his work. Your work, however, is at another level. You care.
I’m a bit late to this video but I always appreciate when someone has mastered their craft like this man. Absolutely insane that he got that dent out. He said he’s done this for 25 years so that means he’s done it for the exact amount of time I’ve been alive. Amazing work!
Great job guys. I just can't help but think that now that Rivian has for sure seen this they will get rid of that access point to keep future repairs even harder. You guys are great and keep up the AMAZING work.
Rivian being a smaller company and right-to-repair being such a big deal, I'm not sure they'd be willing to take the PR hit. That's definitely a move TESLA would do, though.
Your not a technician your a magician I can’t believe you fixed that that is crazy the skill ,time , technique needed is I can’t even say cause I don’t know but wow great job super job awesome job and 2dozen other words I can’t think of
Hands down the best PDR I have seen, the damage was bad with crease in the metal running through it and wouldn't normally be a candidate for PDR so the perfect results just show the very high level of skill you have.
Amazing. I had my own PDR business for close to 10 years in Jax FL. I did some stuff that I honestly surprised myself with. But there’s no way I would have attempted this one. In fact, I wouldn’t have thought it possible. Yeah I can see some spots that were unfixable in this dent, but I’m honestly in awe that you got it that close. The top edge and the edge against the tailgate would have been absolute deal breakers. Never thought it could’ve gotten even that close.
Excellent job! 👍
This is astounding; an art form. My top respects to you and your shop.
As a one man autobody shop owner (Nate’s Custom & Detail) I’ll say SUPER IMPRESSIVE! Very very good job sir
Honesty, and transparency is awesome from shops and hard workers like this. I hope yall get more business and success, great job gentlemen.
So honest (and transparent) that they didn't bother to give us the cost of their service for this.
@@guntherultraboltnovacrunch5248 let them make their bag haha
You, Sir, have skill somewhere between Genius and Wizard. Not a repair, it is magic. I am in awe of your skill.
Amazing save Matt! You have to have serious focus on repairs like this as they can start to look much worse before they finally start looking better and it takes a huge amount of confidence and belief to see it through and you did that perfectly, great job! 👊😉
You guys did an OUTSTANDING job!!!! Congratulations!
I'm usually not a fan of YT's algorithm and the videos it suggests for me, but this time, it absolutely got one right. I'd never heard of you before this clip popped up. All I can say is I'm VERY impressed. Fantastic work getting that repair basically perfect.
I am amazed at the quality of that repair! You guys have some talent ...and patience.
That's unreal. I am truly shocked by this work to such a high level. Amazing
Magnificent👏… that is skill beyond just the tools. An artistry of geometry, perspective and “reverse engineering”.
As an art art historian and graphic designer and can easily say you did a work of art. This is beautiful and the the truck is really cool.
Seen a lot of impressive things on UA-cam over the years.. Your repair is right up there with the best of them.
Impressive work guys. I see the amount of technique and finesse that goes into this specialty of repair is quite high.
Better for environment too. Just plain old skill and will. Love it.
Great Job Matt! Really pushing the limits with what can be done with PDR.
It’s insane how you guys managed to get out all those ripples and tiny divots. I’m a believer of paint less dent repair.
Never seen a non invasive repair this amazing
I used to work at the manufacturer plant for rivian and they did not lie about the quarter panel at all. 2 I work in the paint department and was working close by the PDR team. You did amazing ❤
Im amazed that you were able to handle the metal that was knotted or kinked. And a significant amount of the metal was undoubtedly stretched in some places. Amazing.
Wow, I randomly came across this video and am blown away with the level of work done here.
This is amazing. I’m surprised all that work leaves the paint unscathed. Great job!
You guys are absolute artists. Amazing work!
This needs to go viral. I don’t know how much money this makes you, but whatever it is, it’s not enough. You guys are magicians.
The work done is truly spectacular; I'm not privy to the exact cost, but whatever he paid was unquestionably worth every single cent.
Awesome explanation of how complicated this job would have been for 41 grand. Your work and end result doing it your way is a much better way then ripping the whole truck apart.
That was incredible. I would not have believed it was possible without seeing this video.
You guys did absolutely amazing work. Seriously, you are dent wizards.
No final repair price provided, thumbs down 👎🏼 5:58
But the looks of the work they probably just saved him about a $1000 from what the local Bodyshop want it.
Must have be 39,999
Shipping both ways probably $2000. 2 days labor in the shop, i would guess maybe 2 guys by the video...32 hrs labor x $200/hr is $6400 for a total of probably around $8400. Better than $40,000 to get a hacked up truck back
@@mofomocoYes, with a successful repair like this I’m guessing $200.00 per hour is both reasonable and a bargain at the same time👍
Just imagine how laughable even a $15,000.00 repair estimate would be!
When I first read this was going to cost between $3k & $7k for 2 days work, my first thought was that's still a ripoff. But then I saw the detailed photos of the damage, and the skill that it took. I'm impressed. I could enjoy sitting in your shop with a 6-pack watching you guys work, lol.
You start the video thinking 41k is way too much, and walk away thinking 3-7k might almost not be enough. The guy just has so much expertise and got it looking like new.
@humbertovargas1211 In America, we actually pay people a living wage.
Sorry that wherever you're from, you pay slave wages
@humbertovargas1211 takes incredible skill to pull metal like that without completely fucking up the entire thing
@@chillmegachillvarious sources suggest 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, which is the equivalent of being a slave, only someone that’s excessively wealthy would consider spending that much money on fixing a bumper. It’s like the equivalent of paying an artist just because you like their work.
@humbertovargas1211 for real, everyones acting like its brain surgery, there is no circumstance where paying that much for a dent repair would seem like a good idea
I’m glad you said how much it would cost the other shop and not how much y’all charged. It looks really really good though
Completely insane! Been doing bodywork for 50 years, I do not understand. You guys are incredible.
Hat’s off to these guys. Great job and well done.
You and your staff are true artists! The amount of patience and level of professionalism in this detail was impressive to watch.
I'm shook at those results. It's basically flawless.
Will 100% drive to you if I ever need PDR. Incredible.
Absolutely AMAZING work and that before and after, those small imperfections would not worry me in a bit. Knocked it out of the park!
Always believe that you could repair a bad dent. Just never thought it could be done without repainting. The fact the paint did not just pop off is amazing.
It takes a lot of heat gun for it to stay on lol.
That really is amazing. To the layman's eye, a repair this good on something that damaged doesn't even seem possible.
You guys are absolutely awesome! Great to see real professionals at work.
Unbelievably amazing talent! You're a true artist in your repair process!
Honestly this is Master class in automotive witchcraft. Amazing work. the common way I've seen this "Paintless dent" removal done is they do everything this guy showed but they remove the panel for the final touch up work. Hammering the dents on a steel table with a thick canvas table cloth on it. This is flawless and really shows you how good this guy is.
Thanks for hepping me to this. I'll avoid Rivian like the plague!
That restore was amazing. Highly skilled work. Impressed 👍🏿👍🏿
Holy crap this is an impressive repair. If you didn't know it, you would assume there was never any damage there in the first place. Amazing job by all people who were involved.
I’d much rather have exactly what you did rather than have any paint work done ..you did an excellent job!!
Wow, just crazy skill, stamina and patience here. Best wishes all.
