The batteries of electric cars no longer explode and no longer burn, current electric cars are really safe and very secure, more secure than current gasoline cars
The batteries can catch fire, but you’d have to abuse it or damage it a ton in order for that to happen. Nonetheless, I believe they are safer than ICE cars because of the weight of the vehicle preventing it from flying through the air like a ball and the fact they’re less likely to catch fire.
@@CellPhonzRockEnterprises Yes you are totally right, I expressed myself badly at first, car batteries can catch fire, but new cars are really very safe because it almost never happens. Critics of the electric car say that electric cars are exploding, the first electric car marketed had this problem, the first generation of Tesla model S could catch fire after an accident, but it was more than 10 years ago, today research and technology has evolved so much that the risk of fire is extremely rare!
I didn't know Tesla had any median airbags like between seats, and on the frame close to the ceilling... cocoon like. Wow! Must be alien tech. Tesla excells with the highest safety score. 🤯
I'm really impressed how fast those airbags deploy. Deployed in 2 camera frames on average. Then they deflate pretty quick. You don't want to get burnt from a burning hot airbag against you. I was impressed those expensive Porsche cars were tested. Good of Porsche to donate those cars. It's worth the loss to get a good safety rating. For all these brands/models tested. An above average safety rating will sell more cars. Yeah I was baited with the thumbnail pic of the Cybertruck. Closing comment. These tests are all about passenger protection and were done with, (I would describe it), a dry car. So there was no chance of batteries getting damaged resulting in an electrical fire. That kind of testing is someone else's job.
Notice with the pole test, there is only the driver in the front EXCEPT when the car has centre airbags. They probably don't want to show 2 heads banging against each other (or it causes too much damage to their equipment) ?
Bought a byd seagull months ago! A great car for driving around the city, especially because there are several completely free charging stations here in Brazil! The only use for our SUV here at home is for traveling!
I guess that 50% offset must be a Chiense standard on its own then. I thought it was copied from the west where they have two car weight within 90 lbs of each other's curb weight going headone on 50% offset at 40mph. which is more realistic because most car crashes don't drive into a building or some metal boxes but to other cars on the road, and they can survive a car within the same class then they have at least some degrees of extra for a heavier vehicle.
the speed limit on frontal vehicle-to-vehicle crash test should be regulated to 68.3 km/h instead of 50.0 km/h . . . based on real world crash data . . .
I agree this is the actual car interior. That white mark on the steering wheel that LOOKS similar to polestar logo is I think a mark put on by the techs for the test
So, with all of those different EV's crashed in all those different ways, not a single battery fire. It lets you know that EV battery fires are way over-exaggerated. It's simply not a concern.

Their idea of "good" and mine are completely different based on what I saw from some of the cabin deformity and dummy movement. How can someone being bounced to the passenger side be good? The force throwing them into the passenger is ridiculous.
Good luck in that crash - especially when the battery starts to burn in some cases due to impact. Sometimes they start burning a couple seconds after impact.

I will say one thing Teslas cameras can detect when a car is coming straight at you and deploy the airbags
Love it when i smash fly on my camera and airbags deploy
That's true and teslas do pull you into the seat and tries to dodge the crash however in these test all of the sensers are blocked with cameras
Airbags can only be effective if deployed at the right time, premature deployment would make them useless.

Never notice the particles and gases that come out from the airbag deployment. Interesting. And I haven’t even heard of some of these cars.

Cars with back seats should have airbags to deploy from the back of the front seats for the rear passengers.
There's really no big need of that since there's nothing substantial in front of them to hit.
