Fury being a skrull basically made this movie work. Fury would never fall for something like that, but him being away with a fake covering was a nice fix.
It actually made way more sense in hindsight cuz his personality was completely different to how he usually is, with all the cracking of jokes.
Not to mention how the skrull was pressurising Peter which in turn made him feel lonely and trust Mysterio.
The only question is is he evil?
I feel like maybe the writer got his character all wrong and then someone came in and said they had to fix it so they just made him a skrull instead 😂
@@cosas_de_gatos I mean, it is confirmed that the Skrull thing was made in editing. The movie was written, shot & acted like it was the real Fury. Thankfully they saw _Captain Marvel_ while editing this, got those actors to film a scene, used a deleted scene of Fury & Hill driving & created that post-credits scene.
The damage is being caused by the weapons on the drones. It's a mix of illusions and reality. Also the weird scene between happy and nick on the phone was Happy tipping Nick off about beck in code.

Jake Gyllenhaal was inspired casting for Mysterio, because it really played to all his strengths: his ability to be charming/handsome/badass, but also his ability to be creepy/intense/psychotic.
Yea it reminded me of that movie Nightcrawler he did. He was great in that.
He also almost replaced Toby in Spider-man 2.

These things are beyond amazing, we got some of THE most special, fun, hard hitting scenes, sequences, romances, action, comedy and performances ever! Yet those who touch them selves to Scindler's list look down upon these movies.

what a callback to Tony's own personal struggles that Peter who looks up to him couldn't have known. Really wish they'd make a spinoff for Harley character from Iron Man 3 since he was there helping him with his anxiety but I guess that's too much to ask since he wasn't even a comic character in the first place.

Your comment about "not being able to stand seeing Tony everywhere cos it hurts and it's so fresh" is entirely why they keep showing him. It puts you in Peter's shoes and makes you feel how big the shoes he has to fill really are.

One of the most consistent parts of Peter Parkers personality over the years is that he always feels he can lead a double life with no consequences for his public persona.
I also believe it's part of his arc in the "Home" trilogy. First he learns the true weight of his responsibility in Homecoming, then the fact that he cannot run away from said responsibilities in this one, and as for the third one... well, let's see when Alex gets there.
And for Spidey to win, Peter has to lose.

You’re one of my favorite reactors out there, and I’ve been loving watching you see the MCU. And I just wanted to throw my two cents out there.
1) Don’t let anyone talk you into skipping anything. Every one of the projects in phase 4 is deserving of a watch. And you might even be surprised by what you end up liking.
2) Remember that this phase is more similar to phase 1 than any of the other phases. They’re setting up a whole new saga, so some things might seem unconnected or out of place, but this new story is just beginning.

For sure, after watching the first two episodes I almost quit watching because it wasn't my cup of tea (or so I thought). Glad I stuck around though! My favorite MCUD+ show has been Loki, but Wandavision is right up there too.

My favorite part of this film was Happy's heart to heart with Peter. Both of them were still mourning the loss of their friend, but Happy also helped Peter come to terms that he doesn't have to become the next Iron Man. Rather, he should just continue being the best Spider-Man around.
Despite what everyone is saying, I once again strongly advise starting phase four with Black Widow. It'll help in the long run.
In other news, Nick Fury and Talos will return in their own limited series titled Secret Invasion coming to Disney Plus spring of next year.
I mean just watch them in release order. Widow was the first phase 4 movie.

I don’t like to think of phase 4 as phase 4. Since we’re meeting new characters and having new worlds built with far less backstory than phases 2&3, I think of 4 as 1.2
@@daddynitro199 that’s because it is the first phase of a new saga. Phase one was very similar and people count that as a phase. Phase 4 is a setup phase for the multiverse saga but is still a phase

Fun stuff i learned about Tom Holland he was interviewed a few time. He was asked if he could play any super hero it would be Spider-man, now he is playing Spider-man. He was asked what actress he had a crush on he said Zendaya, now they are dating. He was asked if he could act along side any actor he said Jake Gyllenhaal, Spider-man: Far From Home happened. He was asked what his favorite video game was, he said Uncharted, he stared in the movie version.
He also dances to umbrella better than Rhianna and thus created the Tom Holland law!

Yeah the drones cause the damage they just cover it up and alter it so it looks like the elementals are doing it. Also, rewatching the movie knowing that Fury and Maria hill are skrulls is cool because all of the awkward dialogue makes a lot more sense.

I remember in theaters when Jake Gyllenhaal said “FIRE ALL THE DRONES NOWW!!!” I was like wow what impeccable acting! He delivered the line so well it really gave me more immersion into the movie.

By the way, the scientist being berated by Obadiah Stane at 19:31 (from the first Ironman movie) and now Quint's right hand man is Peter Billingsley, the kid from A Christmas Story.
So much fun to see the reaction of someone who hasn't read the comics and doesn't know in advance who Mysterio is! One of my all-time favorite villains. And he tried to pull pretty much the same trick when he was first introduced in the comics. Granted, he only had 70's technology to work with - no drones, no holograms. But he used movie-type special effects.
Are you gonna do the shows like WandaVision, Falcon + the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If, etc.? Some elements of the movies might be a little confusing without them. I'm sure it's manageable to do without them, but I personally really enjoyed all the shows.

he should watch them all... not sure if he should react to them all, that is a lot of editing work, definitely WandaVision though.
@@TysonGiffordME its ok he caught up really fast so go at the same pace and it just will take a year or so, giving Marvel time to get more movies out, because he can bang out 4 movies (1.5 years of release time) in a month.
@@DeanCubed I think a better way to do it might just be a rather brutalist approach where he records himself watching it in a more casual way and then just picks out the big highlights... Like if he uses 30% of the movie, maybe he could instead use about 10% of the series, out even take a while other approach and make it like top 10 moments of the show with reactions... I dunno but if he does 1 episode a week and then movies and such he will be progressing really really slow as there was almost always a show on in phase 4 and the movies overlapped. I just hope he at least does something for WandaVision, if nothing else.

I grew up reading Spidey comics and, even though I didn't know the plot of this movie before I saw it, I knew Mysterio was going to be the villain because of who he is in the comics. I really love watching your honest reaction when it turns out he's the villain. It's like I can borrow your emotion in that moment if that makes any sense. Have fun.
This movie got me hook, line and sinker, I didn't doubt Mysterio for a single second, and I'm glad there were no hints dropped in because it can really ruin a twist.

Please avoid Phase 4. Endgame and Far From Home and No Way Home are a nice wrap. Everything after is just spinning down the toilet.

so before you watch "spiderman - no way home" make sure you brush up on all the last spidermen. the toby mmaguire and andrew garfield versions. as they do a cool hidden homage to them. ;)

I love the twist in this movie with Mysterio. In the comics Mysterio is a villain, so I do remember when going to the theater thinking how is he going to be a villain in this movie, as the trailers showed him as a Hero/good guy. You also really have to look to find something particularly off about Fury to know that it wasn't actually him and it was a Skrull instead. I'm so ready for you to watch No Way Home. I'm guessing you've seen All 3 Tobey movies and the 2 Andrew spiderman movies as well. Phase 4 also has some good shows in it. Wandavision and Loki are probably the best shows, Hawkeye is Decent I'd say as well. Black Widow movie and Shang Chi is really good as well.
The funny thing about Happys pep talk is that Tony absolutely second guessed bringing Peter in, it drives the 3rd act of Homecoming.
Yeah, and THAT made the best scene in THAT movie, the part where Pete says "if you really cared you'd be here right now" and then the suit opens up and there's Tony. Dammit, now I'm tearing up.
As a German I'm insulted that they showed one of our trains arrive on time. That's not what we stand for.
Also a cool detail: When Peters Spidersense tells him sth is wrong with Fury, Quentyn improvised and made the Beck vs Fury story up on a whim. Really good storyteller this man.
The drones cause the damage with explosives and projectiles.
I'm from Sweden but I worked a bit in Amsterdam (advertising) and the people there are very, very NICE. They also speak good english.

My favorite scene in this movie is actually a deleted scene where Spider-Man fights the mafia. The fighting was great!

A nice note for mysterio the costume hes wearing is a real cgi outsfit that they use its a meta joke that hes so fake hes wearing a fake costume hes pretdending the thought behind his costume is amazing
The light switch says don’t turn off because it’s been wired to be charging the nano tech iron spider suit. It’s sitting in a giant jar in the corner being all glowy an amorphous until it’s ready to be worn.

I really hope you continue with Marvel Mondays! The Disney plus shows are really worth watching and pretty much everything is in order in the Phase 4 lineup (except for Spiderman No Way Home, but it’s after Hawkeye). I think to keep the video length about the same you could watch two or three episodes at a time.

4:41 some power outlets are controlled by light switches (as I understand it; its usually by accident). I have my computer setup on one, I have duct tape keeping the switch on
basically now when i watch anything from endgame and forwards i have to mentally remember that fury is a skrull and nothing he is doing is what the actual fury would do

@@alexhefnerstvmovievault i actually highly recommend the machete order, which is episodes 4, 5, 2, 3, and 6 in that order, as someone who never formally watched them before trying that, that order is EXTREMELY powerful for every twist in the story, and it gets you immensely attached to everyone

My theory on light switch that can’t be turned off in Peter’s room….it’s one that controls an outlet designed to have a lamp plugged in. But the socket was in the only place in the room that made sense to put his computer so he’s using the outlet for that. 🤔
It's also the one his Iron Spider costume was charging in (the weird swirly little vat on the floor). Which is some pretty impressive energy efficiency on Tony's part.
You are now required to watch the other 3 Toby and 2 Andrew spiderman movies, maybe even Into the Spiderverse, before you watch the next MCU Spiderman movie.
Why would spiderverse be needed? It's great and he should do it but it's not important for no way home in the slightest
The Spider-Man movies aren't on Disney+ because they aren't Disney movies. They came to an agreement to allow Spider-Man to appear in Avengers films, but the solo movies are still Sony.
So funny story: Me and my friends went to go see this movie in theatres, but we accidentally went into the Secret Life of Pets screening, so we missed the first like 20 mins of the film. I NEVER saw that Tony Stark tribute until today, 5 years later XD
I love how MJ was freaking out on their swing date. In the other movies MJ and Gwen were just like wow this is magical!

I thought it was super cool that since the 90s fury was never shown if it was truthfully him or not, same with the Skrull Talos' wife being Maria Hill. So for that long they have been working together the last 30 years. So awesome! I loved that reveal!

I knew that something wasn't right with Fury because he was being overly aggressive.
Talos was doing an extreme imitation of Fury.
Since Parker is a kid, I don't see him treating Peter as harsh as he would one of the grown Avengers.
Tom is believable as a teenager because he's youthful himself...literally.
I believe he was 19 when he made his first appearance in Avengers: Civil War.
Since Marvel only released 2 movies a year, having to wait and see if or when that 2 end credits would be delved back into was a torturous wait.
The fandom became experts at theorizing how both would play out.
But Marvel has a way of changing up the story and having lots of unexpected twists and turns. Even the story arcs that are clearly going to have to be told, they still throw in some surprises.
As they say, "Even the worst Marvel movie is still good."
People complain about it having too much comedy in it, but they're based off of comic books that are just filled with one liners and sarcastic comedy.
I personally think it's just enough situation humor and callback humor, and not awkwardly used... except for Age of Ultron and the latest Thor movie.
I got a cross reference of a movie to suggest as a comedy. My Cousin Vinny. A young Marisa Tomei won her first Oscar for it.

Actually the black suit Spider-Man is called Spider-Man Noir. The screwing with your head part using illusions is why I loved Mysterio in the comics. In the comics though he is a magician not a special effects guru and his character in the comics is a big reason why as a child I wanted to be a magician myself. 😅He is one of my all-time favorite villains and Spider-Man is my absolute #1, all-time favorite super heroes. There are weapons on the drones that cause the damage.

You really should watch Star Wars. With the amount of content there is today I'd suggest chronological order, from beginning to end including all series and animations. It would be a lot of great new content for your channel, and mostly uncommon as well because people usually react to release order and don't include animations, so your reactions would be of the rare type.
