Side characters in this are top tier ngl. From chameleon and Maximus, to that permanently drunk cupid granny and unicorn loving Vladimir the viking, every single fckn one of them is absolutely amazingly written. Been a while since I last watched it, was nice to revisit alongside u fam.
2:56 100% Agree with you, especially since in the series the rulers of Corona are so deeply connected to the Sundrop & Moonstone guardians. They could have tried to remove a flower petal, or they could have even learned the song and shared it with the entire kingdom. Also, 7:59 Gothel never telling Rapunzel about kidnapping is a really great observation & ironically, if Gothel had included it Rapunzel might never have gone with Flynn. Also, never thought about Gothel expanding the tower but that's a great thought too (although that might have drawn more unwanted to the tower's location)!
at the end, rapunzel's teardrop healed eugene to parallel the drop of sunlight that created the flower in the first place! just that final bit of healing power for a happily ever after
I think the most beautiful moment in this cartoon is when Rapunzel helps the lantern rise into the sky again. This is the only lantern with the symbol of the kingdom, which was launched by her parents. Other flashlights do not have such a symbol. And she does not let go of the flashlight, which symbolizes the hope of her return. Wow
@@AndreAgassi-j2c honestly I think the original is sadder because she knows she isn't her real mom the whole time and is trapped and isolated from what she previously knew. At least in this one she has an okay life for the first 18 years before she found out the truth.😭

Loved all the insightful commentary & how many things Don brought up that I haven't heard any avid Tangled fans really mention in their reactions to the movie. This is the first time I've seen a video on this channel & enjoyed Don's rational thinking, voice, & calm demeanor. Very fun movie reaction & commentary!
Ngl, I wished they brought out a part 2, named "Detangled" or something. When Tangled and Brave ended, I felt a bitter-sweet sensation because it ended great, but there was no more.
Tangled actually has a spin off, Tangled Before Ever after which is an hour long special that takes place right after the movie then a show that follows it, Rapunzuls Tangled Adventure, which is three seasons long. It has an overarching plot too, not just random shenanigans and it’s super good. It’s got amazing voice acting, dialogue, new characters, interesting story, some REALLY good songs, and the animation is 2D which I personally preferred. If you loved this movie I would absolutely recommend the show.
If you think Gothel is bad wait till you watch Hunchback of Notre Dame. The villain in that movie is not only evil but also very real which makes him even scarier.
The comment about lights appearing on her birthday always makes me laugh, as I have a meteor shower peak on my birthday, and it just seem totally normal now to just go out and watch shooting stars while lit =D
this film becomes so much more interesting if you skip the intro with flynns narration and start it from the titles instead. it becomes a mystery and her uncovering it hit so much harder. Great reaction, so cool to see you react to these animated classics!
Thanks so much for your terrific reaction. The reason why Rapunzel’s was able to heal Eugene was because her mother, the queen, didn’t just USE the flower to be healed, she DRANK the broth made from the flower, which brought the healing power into Rapunzel herself before she was born. The blonde hair was simply an outside symbol of the healing power which was in Rapunzel herself all along. Rapunzel’s love mixed with her tears is what brought Eugene back to life. This movie, “Tangled”, has now become my very favorite Disney movie, and I’m 66 so I have seen just about every Disney movie there is. Thanks for reading 😊
Gaslighting: when an abuser denies reality to control someone in a relationship, to make them doubt their own mind and capabilities. Trauma bonding: emotional bonds between victim and abuser. This is a more accurate and comprehensive name for "Stockholm Syndrome," and can apply in a lot of other situations. This movie isn't perfect, but it did a great job of introducing these concepts and has helped people recognize and escape from abusive relationships.
I think he was thinking about rabbits and hares. Hares are longer and bigger, and they have longer hind legs. They kinda look like cracked out rabbits because they look slimmer because of their fur. 😂😂😂
Also someone probably mentioned it, she was born after her mother consumed the ~entire~ flower in tea, so it stands to reason that all of her was magical, and the assumption was that it was only her hair, because it turned gold. (It comes from the fairytale when he fell into thorns and was blinded and her tears healed him).
I miss the days when Disney was still good. I mean this storyline is a masterpiece. Its so original and creative it just blows my mind everytime I watch the movie. Like imagine you have to come up with a story like this.
@@carnavole13 Disney was responsible for virtually every aspect of Tangled, from reimagining the classic Rapunzel story, developing the screenplay, directing the production, and overseeing the animation, to handling the music, marketing, and merchandising. While individual talents like screenwriter Dan Fogelman, directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, and composer Alan Menken were instrumental in bringing the film to life, Disney itself played the role of the creative and production powerhouse behind the entire project.
I don’t get how everytime mother gothel used rapunzels hair to bring her youth, she had to reuse it again and again,so when she healed Flynn’s hand, does that mean it won’t be permanent either? Or is it cause aging is just something that’s inevitable?
I’ve watched a couple of your videos and I love how you think of things I’ve never even considered having watched these things multiple times . I like you !
6:20 I saw one video where the guys were looking for an answer to this question - a lock of hair about this thick 👌(inside the ring, not between the fingers-) can lift a person. But Rapunzel uses it all. So yes, it's not hard for her.
He gave back the crown to the brothers bc he thought they would never stop chasing him. And since he wants to turn over a new leaf, that would out Rapunzel in danger.
I am so happy Don was calling Zach Shazam cause i love Shazam andd it makes me happy that someone else talks about Zach being Eugene and Shazam and that his singing is so good

I mean, you also don't have to pick between 'grooming' and 'manipulation'. Gaslighting and grooming are just two examples from the manipulation-behaviour-group and typically, manipulators don't limit themselves to just one subcategory of manipulation.
You should watch Spirit! I think you would really enjoy it and it has its funny moments. It’s also pretty emotional, at least to me and some others and it has a great message/story to share. It’s a great movie. And Bolt is an iconic movie from my childhood too that’s very ingrained into my memory.
30:55 the title of this movie literally could be "gaslighting 2.0" so it's not that surprising that she says things like that and it's also why she wants Rapunzel to come back to her on her own (because gaslighting is what abusive partner do to their partner, saying "oh x said this about you, it's not a good friend" etc and you on your own start to believe them to the point of believing everything your partner say to you. Like in this case Rapunzel saying to gothel "you were right about the world") 42:55 he didn't know that Mother Gothel told the brothers about Rapunzel, so he thought that if he give them the crown they would've stop chasing him
2:46 I don't think it's about being selfish. I think the flower will lose its power if you cut it in some way or take just a few petals and don't take from the root, just like how the hair lose its power when it was cut. 20:28 Yeah she doesn't care about Rapunzel at all. If you notice, everytime she looks at Rapunzel, she always touches the hair or her eyes are always set on it at least. 26:02 I just find this so ironic that the fact they, especially Maximus, have been chasing the girl that's with the wanted person (like in a bad way as in chasing the villain) is the princess that they're supposed to find and protect 😂 40:26 Actually, she honestly doesn't know the 2 ruffians gonna harm Rapunzel. She only thought they wanna kill Flynn. I bet she only follows them/Rapunzel to see what happens and found out what the dudes trying to do to Rapunzel. Because she looks genuinely horrified. But again, only horrified of losing the hair for her youth, that is 🙄 42:04 Yeah at first it was absurd to even reach death sentence but then again when I think of it, Flynn did steal the lost princess' tiara, which was supposedly being guarded 'tightly'. I guess that's a serious offense. 43:15 Okay so it is indeed her plan. It's been a long while since I last watched it so I guess I forgot this part 😂 48:18 Remember, she has been using the flower for HUNDREDS of years to stay young. Meaning if it's not for the power, she would have been long dead by now. By right, human age doesn't last for hundreds of years (since I don't think she's a witch or some kind of sorcerer). So I think even if it's not for Pascal, she would still have been dead. 50:12 Yes! So it turns she herself is the flower or the power is IN her, so anything that comes out of her has healing powers, and that includes tears! 😆 Flynn is on the brink of death. He's not dead yet I think. That's why the wound was still able to heal. * sigh * One of the great Disney movies ❤
that`s one of my favs)) and now you can see why i like movie so much. a lot of good humor, great characters, Rapunzel herself of course, such a sweetie, talented, kindhearted and gorgeous girl, she have a lot of specific individual features, her own behavior (not just doll-like princes as usual). and Eugene`s pretty interesting too (not just a male handsome guy like other Disney princes, i mean he`s not a prince originaly but you know what i mean, he became the prince after marriage), he have his own arc. story has short clip about their marriage, necessarily watch it by yourself, it`s super funny)) i really liked Max, super funny character who jokes even without words, only visual humor. even not main characters are great. even Rapunzel`s chameleon also funny enough. Gothel`s interesting villain, she`s creepy but at the same time she`s cool, very smart, good actress in motherhood playing, i like her songs the most here i think, really great songs. and i like her voice a lot
Dude, every question you ask about Rapunzel was literally explained in the beginning of the movie from why she thinks people want her hair to she doesn’t know about the princess😂😂😂
I recommend watching the Rapunzel Animated Series!! It follows after this movie! However, it's not 3d. Its art style is actually in Rapunzel's art style in her diary.❤❤ More characters also!!
I've got a theory on why the soldiers/kingdom took the whole flower instead of just a petal. So, you know when Gothel sings to Rapunzel and cuts of a piece of her hair and the hair loses its magic power? Maybe it's the same with the actual flower, if you take just a petal from the main 'magical source', then the petal loses its magic and that's why they took the whole flower.

She would never think the lights where meant for her as she says she has a feeling they are... But hey most Disney villians are stupid or they would win...😉
A Criminal mind is a Stupid mind.
Probably at the moment when she said that it was her birthday, she did not think that it would bring her problems
To be fair, she probably didn’t know they would start the lantern tradition
Lies are always more believable when there closer to the truth
Side characters in this are top tier ngl. From chameleon and Maximus, to that permanently drunk cupid granny and unicorn loving Vladimir the viking, every single fckn one of them is absolutely amazingly written. Been a while since I last watched it, was nice to revisit alongside u fam.

This is one of my favorite Disney movies. The fact that a girl that young went through so much and stayed innocent is amazing.
i loved your reaction to Tangled, my favourite movie and my favourite reaction BECAUSE YOU ACTUALLY HAD A FULL REACTION 😭😭
Rapunzel being excited and paranoid alternately is hands down the most relatable part of the movie.
at the end, rapunzel's teardrop healed eugene to parallel the drop of sunlight that created the flower in the first place! just that final bit of healing power for a happily ever after
She still had the power tho
She still had the power tho

I think the most beautiful moment in this cartoon is when Rapunzel helps the lantern rise into the sky again. This is the only lantern with the symbol of the kingdom, which was launched by her parents. Other flashlights do not have such a symbol. And she does not let go of the flashlight, which symbolizes the hope of her return. Wow
In the original story, she is 12 years old when the witch locks her in a tower in the forest. Not a new born baby.
First Disney movie to make it sadder than the original story
@@AndreAgassi-j2c Far as I know, yep. But I am still scanning movies.
@@AndreAgassi-j2c honestly I think the original is sadder because she knows she isn't her real mom the whole time and is trapped and isolated from what she previously knew. At least in this one she has an okay life for the first 18 years before she found out the truth.😭
@@B-ManHasThatDmanshe didn’t have an okay life. rapunzel actually thought that was her mother
NOW GO AND WATCH THE TANGLED SERIES!! I could go on forever about how great that show is, and there's sooo much more to the story
Yess! Its amazing! I watched it recently!
Rapunzel is a German story and plays in Germany, in Germany the legal age is 18 so she's not underage lmao
My friend had bright blonde hair her sister had bright red and their parents both had brown…lol genetics are fun….but magic flower 😂 it was literally a drop of sun light
“Is this disney?” Ugh you should watch hunchback of notre dame
Loved all the insightful commentary & how many things Don brought up that I haven't heard any avid Tangled fans really mention in their reactions to the movie. This is the first time I've seen a video on this channel & enjoyed Don's rational thinking, voice, & calm demeanor. Very fun movie reaction & commentary!
Not me crying while watching you react to Tangled
Donna Murphy always kills it, but her Gothel is next level.
this is my absolute favorite Disney princess movie, so excited to see your reaction! And princess and the frog? In for a damn treat
30:29 "she's underage" HELP-😭
Tangled the Series is a really good continuation of the story, I highly recommend it!
it really is sooooo good
I was looking for this comment!! YES you 100% have to watch it, it's amazing😭
Yes it is and the songs are such bangers!!!

Oh yes, it expands the world the movie created, answers some things and gives more stuff, i love it!
Someone plz do a Don calling Rapunzel’s “mom” a baddie counter.
'She's a baddie' 😂😂😂
There is a continuation of the movie Rapunzel, which follows the series Rapunzel's Diaries and the short film that preceded it
If you think Gothel is bad wait till you watch Hunchback of Notre Dame.
"shes underage domt kiss her" a few minutes later, "i guess she 18 so shes legal right?"
“YOUR 18?!?!?!?!” What is bro planning 💀
“maybe tie up ur hair tho coz ur hair is still back at home” 😭😂😂
her hair is gold because of the flower how do ppl not understand this.
I love how they show how old to them is by giving her and Rapunzel dresses from different eras
Don is on the Childhood Arc, elite
man said "oh a bunnny or a rabbit i dont really know the diffrence" 😭
Its the same animal don
I think he was thinking about rabbits and hares. Hares are longer and bigger, and they have longer hind legs. They kinda look like cracked out rabbits because they look slimmer because of their fur. 😂😂😂
Love how bros predication to everything is *you lot clapped?!* 💀😂
8:32 I believe the words he was looking for were "Gaslighting" and "stockholm syndrome". The word grooming is more about sexual things
48:04 TILL THIS DAY STILL MAD ABOUT HOW SHORT HE CUT HER HAIR!
I swear it would be hilarious to see him react to the tangled series
I miss the days when Disney was still good. I mean this storyline is a masterpiece. Its so original and creative it just blows my mind everytime I watch the movie. Like imagine you have to come up with a story like this.
Disney didnt write the story
@@carnavole13 Disney was responsible for virtually every aspect of Tangled, from reimagining the classic Rapunzel story, developing the screenplay, directing the production, and overseeing the animation, to handling the music, marketing, and merchandising. While individual talents like screenwriter Dan Fogelman, directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, and composer Alan Menken were instrumental in bringing the film to life, Disney itself played the role of the creative and production powerhouse behind the entire project.
@@carnavole13 They did write the story. It is based on the german tale "Rapunzel" if you didnt know.
"You took the whole flower? Theyre selfish." Selfish for wanting her to live? LMAOO
Grief: deep sorrow (sadness) over the lost of someone special.
Either by death, or in general left
I don’t get how everytime mother gothel used rapunzels hair to bring her youth, she had to reuse it again and again,so when she healed Flynn’s hand, does that mean it won’t be permanent either? Or is it cause aging is just something that’s inevitable?
pausing the video when talking, best reactor hands down.
i think her tears healing eugene was the last bit of magic she had left after her hair was cut.
Its because her magic never left her. Shes still has powers
no its cause the magic is in her not her hair, her hair is just a conduit .
@leoofchild8039 @shayasims thank you both! I understand now 👍🏽
I’ve watched a couple of your videos and I love how you think of things I’ve never even considered having watched these things multiple times . I like you !
Blonde hair is a recessive trait, so two dark haired people can absolutely have a blonde baby, but Rapunzel's hair was gold because of the flower
"watch them keep her in a tower as well" made me LAUGH
holy hell!!!! sooo glad you decided to react to this one!
Rewatching the film shows me how much more aggressive films used to be than they are now. THE GUY WAS STABB*D
6:20 I saw one video where the guys were looking for an answer to this question - a lock of hair about this thick 👌(inside the ring, not between the fingers-) can lift a person. But Rapunzel uses it all. So yes, it's not hard for her.
I HAVE NEVER CLICKED ON A VIDEO THIS FAST. love this movie
“oh jesus, oh jesus crust” when mother got her turned back into an old hag is hilarious 😂😂
He gave back the crown to the brothers bc he thought they would never stop chasing him. And since he wants to turn over a new leaf, that would out Rapunzel in danger.
2:25 She got the golden hair from the flower....

this movie raised me watched bought 300 times and loved to watch it again with ur reaction ur to funny! it was cool to see the things u commented on in the movie that i hadn't thought about
A believe the word you were looking for was 'gaslighting' hahaha
I mean, you also don't have to pick between 'grooming' and 'manipulation'. Gaslighting and grooming are just two examples from the manipulation-behaviour-group and typically, manipulators don't limit themselves to just one subcategory of manipulation.
36:28 "you man didn't clap and make more kids??" PMSSSSS
You should watch Spirit! I think you would really enjoy it and it has its funny moments. It’s also pretty emotional, at least to me and some others and it has a great message/story to share. It’s a great movie. And Bolt is an iconic movie from my childhood too that’s very ingrained into my memory.

In the original, her hair wasnt magic, but she healed the princes scratched eyes with her tears and he could see again.
The lighting in this vid is immaculate, your skin is glowing
“who’s she gonna tell.. she ain’t got no friends” 😭🤣🤣🤣
Like in this case Rapunzel saying to gothel "you were right about the world")
42:55 he didn't know that Mother Gothel told the brothers about Rapunzel, so he thought that if he give them the crown they would've stop chasing him
2:46 I don't think it's about being selfish.
26:02 I just find this so ironic that the fact they, especially Maximus, have been chasing the girl that's with the wanted person (like in a bad way as in chasing the villain) is the princess that they're supposed to find and protect 😂
40:26 Actually, she honestly doesn't know the 2 ruffians gonna harm Rapunzel. She only thought they wanna kill Flynn. I bet she only follows them/Rapunzel to see what happens and found out what the dudes trying to do to Rapunzel. Because she looks genuinely horrified. But again, only horrified of losing the hair for her youth, that is 🙄
42:04 Yeah at first it was absurd to even reach death sentence but then again when I think of it, Flynn did steal the lost princess' tiara, which was supposedly being guarded 'tightly'. I guess that's a serious offense.
43:15 Okay so it is indeed her plan. It's been a long while since I last watched it so I guess I forgot this part 😂
48:18 Remember, she has been using the flower for HUNDREDS of years to stay young.
Its art style is actually in Rapunzel's art style in her diary.❤❤ More characters also!!
this movie is so wholesome, and even in the serie rapunzel and eugene are so wholesome, love them 😭
The music is so good loved the song when they were dancing in the city.
Why is no one talking about the "don't kiss her, she's underage" part? 😂
