"Wonder what her parents do for a living?" was perfectly timed. Comedy gold there.
I just burst out laughing as soon as he said it.
literally just came to comment the same damn thing😂😂😂😂😂
Was like, just wait a few seconds to find out
It was perfect lmao
almost like hes already seen the movies... he calls out a lot of whats gonna happen line for line, wouldn't be surprised if he's already seen certain movies
Fun Fact: the "Hug" in the car at the beginning was actually a blooper. Tom Holland didnt know what to do so he hugged Robert Downy Jr. and he saved it by saying those words afterwards. I love that they didnt delete this scene :D
He and Tom have a few of those. When Tony and Peter are talking in Peters bedroom in Civil War, Tom messed up the blocking of the scene. RDJ goes to sit on the bed, but Tom forgets to give him space. RDJ saying: “I’m gonna sit here, so you move the leg.” was an improvisation that the Russo Brothers kept in the final cut.
@@daynejoseph2366 Yeah I bet there's more of those moments we don't know about, that's how Tom made it to Spider-Man casting finals, I'm pretty sure the RDJ audition was not the ending one (it was with Chris Evans) just because he could eliminate so many actors by improvising.
Asa Butterfield lost the role by bombing his audition with him and he said RDJ was constantly going off script... and thank god for that lol
Thats why i love the MCU lol
Notice that even though Happy ignores Peter Tony has been listening to all his messages. "Build up your game helping the little people, like that lady that bought you the churro."
i really love those little details. Shows how much Tony actually cares, even if he tries not to show it
@@TechnoArpan i bet that people are gonna miss those moments were pete was still a kid and interacted with tony :v
The thing I really like about the end is that you get the sense Tony is disappointed by the decision Pete makes, but that Happy is proud of him.
WAS JUST ABOUT TO WRITE THAT
He’s 15, he corrects tony when tony calls him a 14 year old kid
yeah but he was 14 in civil war. his passport confirms that
1 year difference, no higgie
Fun trivia. The voice in Peter's suit is Jennifer Connelly. Wife of Paul Bettany, who plays JARVIS/Vision -- helped his wife get the clutch Marvel voiceover job. (Even though she's been a huge movie star since the 1980s.)
Fun fact Jennifer Connelly was the doctor/romantic interest in the Edward Norton Hulk movie.
@@charlescook1749 No, that was the case for the 2003 Eric Bana movie.
@@DankBlitzwing thanks for the clarification. My bad.
@@charlescook1749 Yeah you're thinking of Liv Tyler ;-)
No shit?! I did not know that…
The reason Adrian/Vulture protected Peter when the other dude asked who he is was because Vulture now has a degree of respect for Spider-Man for saving his life (even if he still wants to kill him). Also Spider-Man has always had super strength. He has the proportional strength of a spider. In the comics, one time he even managed to throw HULK into orbit. And also, he is *CONSTANTLY* holding his real strength back by a HUGE degree. In the comics, Doc Ock once took over Peter's body (but turned good and continued to be Spider-Man in his place) and basically accidentally deleted a villain's head when he punched them without holding back, unaware of Spider-Man's real strength.
In the comic where he threw the hulk into orbit, it was not his Spider-Strength, but the strength of a character called Captain Universe, which he temporarily possessed.
He only managed to put Hulk into space because he was given the power of Captain Universe briefly. Peter could go all out not holding anything back and not beat the Hulk, sorry
@@markmcelligott2542 all that being clarified, in general he does still seem to hold back... Until later in the MCU but let's not spoil things now xd
@@markmcelligott2542 Peter may not be stronger than the Hulk, but he can definitely beat him. Brains over brawn.
The first time Spiderman met Hulk in the comics, he took a glancing blow and said it was the hardest punch he ever felt. Also in the early Spiderman comics, they said there were only three characters (at the time) that were stronger than Spiderman: The Hulk, The Thing, and Thor. Of course, a lot of stronger characters were added later. But Spidey is definitely stronger than Cap. And they didn't specify how his natural muscular strength compares to the mechanical strength of the Iron Man suit.
Vulture spared his life because he saved his daughter, so I assume he saved it again when he saved his own (Vulture's) life.
Keaton's Vulture - BEST MCU Villain so far!
Spiderman is actually capable of unbelievable feats of strength when he needs to. The scene where he's trapped by several tons of debris, and lifts it off him, comes right out of the comics
According to the official Marvel profile for Spider-Man he can lift about 12 tons so yeah, he's pretty strong and that scene was near his limits but doable.
Spiderman is insanely strong. Like, not Hulk level strong but close, at least in older comics.
Current MCU movies Spiderman is weaker.
Notice that the Hulk got many powerups in his career, so it's hard to compare.
Point is day 0 spiderman is not much weaker than day 0 the hulk.
Exactly, he's still Spiderman even without the suit and still has powers!
Came to post this. Too late. Yea, he doesn't come off as a strength type character, but for some reason they wrote him to be just stupidly strong.
@@Linerunner99 - Yeah it's actually really weird that so many people don't realize/remember - he was bitten by a genetically altered/radioactive(?) spider test subject/experiment, and gained the powers/abilities of a spider - and everyone knows pretty much all insects have ridiculous strength to bodymass ratio, like ants can lift 100 times their own weight in nature, spiders, all insects really have this to some degree, and also, the spider that bit him wasn't normal, it was scientifically enhanced, so potentially the strength to bodymass ratio could be even more - this has always been the case, but so many people are like "How did he lift that?" - I don't understand since it's supposed to be common knowledge canon about Spiderman from like the 60s or something, you know? :)
27:57 I _ADORE_ this moment. In a split second Tony _perfectly_ demonstrates the very point he makes a few moments later. Peter is perfectly happy talking back to an empty suit of armor. He has no problem mouthing off to that, no fear whatsoever. But the instant that suit pops open, he almost falls over himself trying to scramble away, then continues to back away even after that initial shock fades, as Tony is just slowly strolling forward. Not backing away from the suit, but from the man inside it. Tony IS Iron Man, not a hollow piece of metal and circuitry. It’s the suit that is nothing without him, rather than the other way around, and for him to demonstrate that so effectively, both why it’s important and how it actually works, just before he says it, is damn awesome.
"THAT'S HER DAD?"
I love rewatching the MCU with you...
i love that you're tuning in to these videos and commenting!
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault you skipped Guardians 2
I am curious why is it that anyone who watches the newer Spider-Man movies think that Spider-Man doesn't have all of those powers without Tony Stark's suit. The only thing that Tony Stark's suit does is give him Tech, Spider-Man is super strong super agile stick to anything all on his own
Yeah, I honestly don’t get how stupid they have to be to think the suit does everything because In Civil War Tony showed him catching a car in his “pajamas” and then had the talk about how he is different and can’t play football. Even if they haven’t watch the previous Spider-Man movies in this movie they talk about the spider bitting him so you can assume he has the powers of a spider and then Tony takes the upgraded suit and Peter does everything by himself…like I don’t get how hard is for new viewers to understand his powers and they always underestimate him because his a kid. But he’s a kid that stoped Bucky’s punch while joking while Steve couldn’t, he’s a kid that defeated two Avengers, he’s a kid that took a slap from Giant Man and he’s a kid that also held a boat together from some seconds and do more impressive stuff later on in IW and End Game. like it’s crazy how MCU viewers underestimate him.
I think it’s the stupid ‘I’m nothing without this suit’ thing that the movie pushes. I mean I like this movie. But that whole conflict does not work when your superpowers aren’t related to the costume you have.
@@Avatarconner I totally understand your comment and for the most part agree, but I took that line as to mean that as a kid he felt without that suit he can't belong with them and he isn't an Avenger and he's a nobody, not that he didn't still have his powers or he knew that.... but you are right they probably should have just left that line out because it confuses a lot of people
@@johnfive2440 Yeah but even then, Peter's motivation isn't to be an avenger, it's to do what's responsible and what's right. I mean Peter is right to keep going after the vulture because tony couldn't give a shit and doesn't do it himself because he thinks it's small stuff and it's not important. What makes Spider-Man better is that to him, there's no such thing as 'small stuff'. Small stuff is what got his uncle ben killed.
He is also super smart, the suit is a big help. But he obviously doesn't need it.
35:15 "Where'd he get this internet strength to lift up fucking buildings?" I don't know, maybe in every version of Spider-man lmao. Dude has ridiculous super strength.
yeah i know! that was a stupid fucking comment! haha
I love that in this point in the MCU they are doing things like mixing genres with super-hero movies. So here we have the teenage coming of age drama. Winter Soldier was a spy thriller in the vein of Mission Impossible, etc. etc.
It was always meant to be like this, Kenneth Branagh's Thor is a Shakespearan movie, First Avenger is a war movie, etc.
In case you missed it the clean-up guy is Micheal Keaton who also played Beetlejuice and Batman.
And the main character;in Bird-Man...I just think is a funny coincidence.
And a ton of other fantastic films. Don't sleep on Keaton.
Yep. They even make a small reference to Batman in this movie when he flies up to be silhouetted by the moon like he did in the batwing.
I love how Peter is forced to watch a video of Captain America lecturing him in detention. That really must add insult to injury, since he went up against Cap in Civil War, and lost.
oh that's such a good point that I didn't even think about!
The Tobey Mcguire movies were some of the first superhero movies I ever saw, and I loved them as a kid (still love them now, especially for Sam Raimi’s unique style). I think it’s worth reacting to them, and you have to watch the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man films as well. Not immediately, but just at some point before you see the third MCU Spider-Man film. There are little things here and there that you’ll appreciate a lot more having seen the previous iterations of Spider-Man.
Oh same, they were THE first superhero movies I ever watched and the reason why I took a chance on Marvel. I wouldn’t love the Avengers so much if I hadn’t seen Spider-Man.
- You know what I find interesting, and slightly annoying/odd ... I watch a lot of these Movie Reaction channels, and most people do the whole MCU series, BUT... almost none of them do the movie "Venom" which, like the Maguire and Garfield Spiderman movies, really aught to be watched before the third Spiderman movie "No Way Home" - Venom is definitely in the MCU because he is in one of the earlier Spiderman movies, and the New Venom movie definitely has relevance in this portion of the MCU series (No Spoilers here, but... you know)
Pretty sure he's seen Tobi's at least by the way he talked about it in parts throughout the vid. Edit: in fact right at the end after the reaction he said he has seen them its just been years
I’d definitely recommend this too
@@dylancole1910 Tobys Spider-Man was THE first for me as well. Star Wars: A New Hope, was my first Sci-Fi movie I watched as well. Both hold two very special places in my life.
Tobey is childhood , Andrew is the cool one, Holland is the best Spiderman description
Despite the shortcomings of moviemaking in his era, I love Tobey's interpretation of it. (considering the era) And even though I believe Holland is probably the most promising Spider Man there's ever been, Garfield's emotional range pushes hard against even an RDJ-trained Holland, despite Holland's spectacular performance in No Way Home. (and the terrible hand Garfield has been dealt in Sony-driven Amazing Spider Man movies)
Keep in mind that I'm sayin' all this as a person who still considers Holland to be his favorite Spider Man to date. (despite the almost-perfect performance by Garfield in that particular Spider Man movie)
Why does everybody think Andrew`s the "cool one"?Is it the hipster aesthetics and skateboarding?`Cause in 2012 and `14 nerd, emo and hipster culture were far from mutually exclusive fer the record! He tripped over his words constantly around Gwen, had far more of a darker side than Tobey without a symbiote, regularly displayed abandonment issues and similar insecurities which made him relatable to me as someone who was also separated from my biological parents at a young age.
@@AspieMediaBobby yeh people have stereotypical thoughts about nerds. Andrew when he is spiderman is so close to the comics spidey.
@@AspieMediaBobby he may have seemed a bit too suave with Gwen. Sure he tripped up words but he made solid moves to build a strong relationship with Gwen. Their chemistry was fantastic between them which may make him come off less nerdy. In all other aspects his nerdiness is fairly spot on. His Spidey was excellent, his pains of his family were well demonstrated. The movies themselves didn't always hit right (we know a lot of the reasons for that) but they nailed Peter and Gwen.
The difference has nothing to do with them or their acting. The difference is in the writing. Spiderman: Homecoming was simply better written than the previous Spiderman movies.
The Vulture didn't give Peter's identity up in the post-credit scene because he is still grateful to him for saving Liz's life (and possibly his own).
Aaron Davies (Childish Gambino) is the villain known as 'The Prowler' and is also the uncle of Miles Morales. When he talks about his nephew who lives here its Miles TT
Tom Holland is easily the best Peter Parker/Spider-Man. I love Tobey and Andrew but he absolutely nailed both roles.

Most people would disagree
Ignore that "8 YEARS LATER" time card, it's false. The prologue was shortly after the Battle of NY in The Avengers (2012). Then the bulk of the story takes place a few months after Civil War (2016).
It was obviously from Doctor Strange's POV because of the time loop, smh
Fr I was so confused seeing that in the reaction because I don’t remember that being there. I kept saying shouldnt it be 4 years later. I’m glad it’s a mistake
The twist with Vulture and Liz was INSANE
right!?!?!
Tooms/Vulture is protecting Peter Parker/Spiderman because not only did Peter save his daughter's life in DC, he also saved Tooms' life in spite of everything he did and threatening Peter and everyone Peter loves. He knows that Peter only did what he felt was the right thing to do and Tooms realized that, and realized how dangerous the Chitauri technology really was when it nearly killed him. Peter knew how dangerous those alien power cells were and did everything he could to not only stop Tooms, but also to save him from himself.
That's why he was protecting Peter from that other criminal, since he knew that if anyone knew who Spiderman was, the criminal underground would stop at nothing to kill Peter Parker, and Tooms was not about to allow that to happen after everything Peter did for Tooms and his family.
Yes u are correct , vulture also realized peter is just a kid
@@koulor315 That too. But that was actually secondary to Peter's actions.
Also Tooms would not have the chance to kill Peter himself as well as sort of owing Peter for saving his daughter and himself. A omertà of sorts. Lots of different ways it could be seen.
"...and realized how dangerous the Chitauri technology really was when it nearly killed him"
I agree with all your other points, but guaranteed if/when he gets out he's gonna be back in that suit with all the tech.
I feel like anyone other than Toomes trying to kill Spider-Man knowing it's Peter would go for Liz
Really one of the most underrated mcu movies in my opinion, it's just so good.

Peter’s principal is played by an actor that you’ve seen before in the MCU. He was a member of Cap’s WWII squad, implying that the principal is his descendent. You can see memorabilia from that character in his office.
This is also one of the most villain filled Spider-Man movies up to this point. Vulture, the Shocker, the Scorpion (Matt Gargin, the dude who talks to Vulture in prison), and Prowler (Played by Childish Gambino. He will be very important if you watch Into The Spider-Verse).
Please read this Alex
Don’t you think that little tidbit about The Prowler ruins a portion of Spider-Verse for him?
*Mac Gargan
Spider-Man has always (in the comic books) been able to push himself beyond his normal limits by a stupid amount. That 'lifting the building' moment was one of the coolest moments of callback to the comics.
Yeap, he is considered around 15-20 tons but I feel like he can easily lift around 15-20 but when he push himself he is WAY stronger because we’ve seen it do a lot like 100+ tons.
For a long time, he was considered the fourth strongest hero in Marvel, behind the Hulk, the Thing, and Thor.
Gotta love the post credits scene with Cap. The people who saw it in theaters couldn’t just skip the credits so to them it was a little jab at the audience.
Honestly hilarious 🤣🤣
Alex: "I wonder what her parents do for a living."
That was perfect timing. I lost it. 🤣
Also, yes, you should watch the Toby Maguire AND Andrew Garfield Spiderman movies, even if you don't react to those. They *do* have relevance.

There are subtle references to the other Spiderman films like when Alex noticed the potential upside down kissing scene. So definitely watch them and you will appreciate the moments when they arrive.

@@jacobvega9092 I mean.. he asked. I don't know how to answer any more vaguely.
I'm sure it's been stated by others but commenting about Spider-man's strength, he is actually insanely strong and they talk about it more in the comics. He constantly pulls his punches even against really strong villians so he won't kill them. There's a cool comic where Doc Ock actually ends up with his consciousness in Peter's body and he realizes how much he pulls his punches and comments that he is basically putting tons of effort into not killing people.
Strongly recommend watching the OG Spider-Man trilogy as well as ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ movies before you get to ‘No Way Home’. Don’t do any research, just trust and you won’t regret it. Awesome reaction btw! 🤘🏼🔥

@@alexhefnerstvmovievault I concur this, as the Spider Man films cross both Sony/Disney studios, and therefore should be treated as a subset cluster of the main MCU films. Since "No Way Home" has spoilers for other plot threads from MCU films, try saving that film until after "Avengers Endgame".
And highly recommend after "No Way Home" viewing "Spider Man: Into The Spiderverse". There's a concept used in "No Way Home" that is thoroughly explored as part of the plot of the "Spiderverse", and the primary character ,Miles Morales, is based especially on Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino, which explains his presence in "Homecoming". More on his character here is mentioned in another comment, quoted below:

*Aunt May is played by the phenomenal Marisa Tomei (and distant cousin with another great actress and one of her good friends, Julianne Moore. Oh and Tomei starred in another film with Robert "Tony Iron Man Stark" Downey Jr. called "Only You", a fun romantic comedy that takes place in Rome) whose other well known film is "My Cousin Vinny", a must see incredible comedy opposite the titular character portrayed by Joe Pesci that won Tomei an Academy Award, and a film that that is admired by many in the legal field for it's procedural accuracy From that film's Wikipedia article:
"Director Jonathan Lynn has a law degree from Cambridge University, and lawyers have praised the accuracy of "My Cousin Vinny"'s depiction of courtroom procedure and trial strategy, with one stating that "[t]he movie is close to reality even in its details. Part of why the film has such staying power among lawyers is...everything that happens in the movie could happen, and often does happen, at trial".
One legal textbook discusses the film in detail as an "entertaining [and] extremely helpful introduction to the art of presenting expert witnesses at trial for both beginning experts and litigators"; furthermore, criminal defenders, law professors, and other lawyers use the film to demonstrate rules of evidence, voir dire, relevance, and cross examination.
Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals judge Richard Posner praised "My Cousin Vinny" as being:particularly rich in practice tips: how a criminal defense lawyer must stand his ground against a hostile judge, even at the cost of exasperating the judge, because the lawyer's primary audience is the jury, not the judge; how cross-examination on peripheral matters can sow serious doubts about a witness's credibility; how props can be used effectively in cross-examination (the tape measure that demolishes one of the prosecution's eyewitnesses); how to voir dire, examine, and cross-examine expert witnesses; the importance of the Brady doctrine ... how to dress for a trial; contrasting methods of conducting a jury trial; and more.
In "Ten Things Every Trial Lawyer Could Learn From Vincent La Guardia Gambini", District of South Carolina judge Joseph F. Anderson praised Vinny's courtroom methods as "a textbook example" of Irving Younger's "Ten Commandments of Cross-Examination". ... He concluded that Lynn and scriptwriter Dale Launer "have given our profession a wonderful teaching tool while producing a gem of a movie that gives the public at large renewed faith in the common law trial and the adversarial system as the best way to determine the truth and achieve justice".
In a 2019 decision Merrick Garland, then the Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, wrote "In 1992, Vincent Gambini taught a master class in cross-examination."...
John Marshall Law School professor Alberto Bernabe wrote that "Vinny is terrible at the things we do teach in law school, but very good at the things we don't":[How to] interview clients, to gather facts, to prepare a theory of a case, to negotiate, to know when to ask a question and when to remain quiet, to cross examine a witness forcefully (but with charm) in order to expose the weaknesses in their testimony
...Lawyers find the film appealing, according to the director, because "there aren't any bad guys", with the judge, prosecutor, and Vinny all seeking justice. Lynn stated that both he and Launer attempted to accurately depict the legal process in Vinny..."

Betty in the comics would later develop into the Red She Hulk,) to most recently as the main love interest Penelope "Penny" Benjamin in "Top Gun: Maverick" ], she is also the real life wife of actor Paul Bettany (strongly urge you to check out his charming portrayal of Geoffrey Chaucer in "A Knight's Tale" starring another late great, Heath "Arguably The Best Version of The Joker" Ledger) who plays Tony Stark's primary AI JARVIS in the MCU (based on Tony's closest confident prior to Pepper & Happy Hogan, and Howard Stark's late butler Edwin Jarvis, in person played by James D'Arcy, appearing first n Marvel's TV series Peggy Carter led "Agent Carter" then "Avengers Endgame") and later the android Avenger. Spiderman has super strength. That's how he lifted the rubble. It's probably not as heavy as you would expect.
Also, aircraft that have multiple engines are designed to operate with less engines in emergencies, so since it has 5 engines, it would have no problem losing a couple. The issue here is that the fucked the plane up big time. If a few engines just quit it would be able to make it to an airfield to make an emergency landing. This plane is super redundant with 5 engines, considering most modern planes have 2 engines and are still able to operate on one engines and travel hundreds or thousands of miles in an emergency on only one in operating order.

That end scene was showing once again that Vulture wasn't a specifically bad guy. He was a guy who had his livelihood destroyed. He turned to crime, but nonviolent crime out of desperation.
It will be a debated by folks. Vulture was arguably a victim. A decent small business owner that was financially destroyed by the government. Look at his part of the story, just his.
By the time you make it to the end credits, you see a guy who wanted to succeed in life for his family. He knew who Peter was and gave him a clear line. He never targeted people, only targeting the people who he felt took advantage of him and thoughtlessly ruined his life.
In the credits scene, he denied knowing Spiderman because he never wanted to hurt Peter. Peter wasn't his bad guy, in his eyes. Peter was trying to be a hero and he understood that Peter was good. Vulture was a guy who had his livelihood ripped apart by people who didn't give a second thought to the consequences of their actions on him and he understood Peter's perspective in trying to stop him from clawing back his livelihood that was taken from him.
The government/suits/Stark could have used him and his company, drawn a clear line for operations to protect the tech. Drawn that clear line like he did for Peter in the car. But they didn't and instead chose to just toss him and his workers aside with no regard for the people being hurt. They just destroyed him without even the tiniest amount of compassion, empathy, or respect being afforded.
Keaton's Toomes is still one of my favourite MCU "villains". You nailed it. He's a layered and complex and frankly very human character that was shafted to the point of turning to crime. A family man that took an opportunity to get security for his family. So many people who do this in real life so sans suit and alien tech he's pretty much doing the same thing.
I mean, he was an illegal arms dealer that threatened to murder a kid- but he was no Red Skull.
@@CritterPaladin yup, he wasn't a pantomime comic villain, he was a grounded human villain with some very odd lines lol
Absolutely, his motivations are grounded and he does have principles however flawed they might be, for those reasons he is one of the best villains in the MCU in my opinion. Also I like to think that his speech he gave to Peter in the workshop about the hero's not caring about the "guys like us" directly influenced Peter's choice with regards to joining the Avengers at the end of the movie. Spider-Man started off so keen to join the big leagues but came realize the smaller stuff also matters.
"Why is he protecting Peter?" Um... maybe because he was saving his life??
This guy never understand the storytelling, everything goes over his head so it’s even harder for him to understand character motivation and decisions.
Also Peter did save his daughter.
@@reynaldolorenzo8409 Yeah, he does miss a lot of nuance. Keaton played the best villain until Thanos.
"That's a nice ass house, I wonder what her parents do for a living?"
I spit my drink at that line lol
fun fact: his own "internal jarvis" is voiced by Jennifer Connelly, wife of Paul Bettany, Tony's Jarvis (turned Vision)
i love that
Aunt May: Marissa Tomei
Vulture: Michael Keaton aka Batman, Beetlejuice
And another fun fact: Spiderman, (Tom Holland) and Michelle (MJ)(Zendaya) are dating in real life after meeting each other on this movie set!
oh shit no kidding?!
17:12 interesting fact I think you would appreciate Alex: the style of hotel with an interior atrium was the product of an architect named John C. Portman. In the 70’s many urban centers were experiencing very high crime rates, and it became desirable to orient your hotel to the inside rather then the street outside. Hotels could control and shape the atriums inside their buildings when they were unable to control or clean up the streets outside. In “Loki” they show the interior of one of Portman’s hotels in Atlanta I believe as part of the TVA’s interior structure. The Marriott Marquis in Times Square is probably the best example of a Portman hotel. I only know this because the first time I visited NYC I stayed at the Marriott Marquis, and I was so intrigued by the architecture that I had to learn more about it.
Kind a tangent, but I can tell you are also a curious person… great reaction as always man👍
Aunt May is Marisa Tomei, great actress and old Robert Downey 's friend, they were together in Chaplin (1992) and Only You (1994) one of my favs rom-coms when I was a teenager.
"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain."
I love Michael Keaton as Batman. But I love him a LOT more as Vulture.
You didn't catch that Donald Glover was Aaron Davis. That's the name of The Prowler, Miles Morales's supervillain uncle. He mentioned that he wanted to protect his nephew.
no i didn't get that!
"It's never too late to start thinking about college, I've got some pull at MIT"
I've got no words
You should watch Spiderman 1, 2 and 3, and Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2 to appreciate each take on the character and different styles by each actor and director. Even though, some of them get a bad rep, there's still a lot to appreciate about each movie
just a fun thing but at 24:46 he’s referring to his nephew aka miles morales (it was only shown in a deleted scene) but miles is from into the spiderverse it’s not really part of the mcu phases but just keep him in mind
ohhhhhhhhhhh
“Who is that actress? Aunt May…” THAT… broke my heart. Dude! 😳
he has spider strength, sense, etc 😀
Yes, it would be great to re-react to the Tobey Maguire (and the Andrew Garfield) Spider-Man movies. Marvel occasionally pays homage to the movies that paved the path to the MCU, and the Spider-Man (and X-Men-have you seen those?) movies are certainly part of that path.
Also, have you seen any of the Netflix Marvel shows-Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, etc? While I really enjoyed them all, Daredevil is universally acclaimed and would be well worth watching. At least watch the trailer to get a feel for what you'd be getting into.
Amazing video as always Alex, keep the great content coming.
Yes bro
The nephew that Childish Gambino's character (Aaron Davis aka The Prowler) mentions in the neighborhood is Miles Morales (a different Spiderman).
Also, there was a little throwback to The Amazing Spiderman when Flash was driving to the homecoming dance he mentioned Branzino which is what Gwen Stacy's mom made when they met Peter.
Having Peter Parker at 14/15 years old was a great idea for the first MCU Spiderman.
Every week that passes i get just a little more ancy.
Alex as always you're movie reactions are fire. I'm looking forward to seeing the next 3 movies as they build towards something truly special.
I really can't wait for you to finally get to Avengers Infinity War and Endgame.
Great reaction, can’t wait for the next Thor. Fun fact you may already know, the main baddy here is Michael Keaton, who is the Original Batman.
I honestly had no idea!
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault - Maybe one day, you’ll go through the DC universe? If you haven’t seen them anyhow, that would be fun.
"Those damn alien gypsy weapons." This broke me.
I’ve watched a ton of MCU reacts and your run has by far been my favorite trip 🤘. Keep doin it and I can’t wait till you get to the climax of all this
Dude, everyone needs a friend like you! Love your vids bro!
this is genuinely such a nice comment! love you back bro!
You’re powering through these movies now, I can’t wait to watch the rest with you. 🤘
thank you so much for tuning in! :)
Peter corrected him that he's 15! Lol
I still think the Father reveal was the QUIETEST a theatre has ever been. Just everyone’s jaw dropped and we all stared at the screen in pure shock.
No, Toby Maguire is a totally different universe, literally !
lol
Of course, the humorous irony of Cap's educational videos about following the rules comes after Cap refused to sign the UN's Sokovia Accords and became an international outlaw.
And yes, you should watch the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies. Trust me, I'm trying to avoid spoilers but big shit's gonna go down later on and those movies will inform A LOT of it.
As far as I understand, Spider-Man was not one of the original Avengers, but throughout the years he would make appearances in Avengers comics, team up with the Avengers, fight the Avengers, etc. At various times he considered joining or was a potential recruit. Eventually he did join the Avengers, but I don't know how long he was a member, or how often.
OK, so, there is so much to breakdown here and update you on.
Aaron Davis is the uncle of Miles Morales. Aaron is a villain called Prowler and Miles becomes Spiderman after Peter.
Toomes is Vulture and is a member of the sinister 6. His crew in this were Shocker and The Tinkerer. All well known villains.
Flash is Flash Thompson from the comics, Peters high school bully. He eventually becomes Venom.
Ned becomes a villain in the comics too. He becomes Hobgoblin.
Pay attention to surrounding characters too, they'll come back. Like Betty.
Actor easter egg, Principal Morita is played by Kenneth Choi. He played Jim Morita in Captain America who was in tye howling commandos. Its meant to indicate that Jim was his grandfather.
The gym teacher... Hannibal Burress, one of the finest stand up comedians I've ever seen
Also, Tom Holland, his dad Dominic, he's a stand up comedian too, I used to watch him when I was younger. May even have been before Tom was born
I know he was familiar! I used to love Burress’s stuff!
burress is hilarious!
I'm not sure how many got the Easter egg during the interrogation for where the weapons would be.. Karen said the guy that Peter is "interrogating" is Aaron Davis.. He also briefly mentioned his nephew... Aaron Davis' nephew is Miles Morales.
I still wish something continues with that!!!
@@ZachRenko Its coming... Sony owns that property, so it will have to be one of the future sony/marvel/Disney spider-man movies coming in the next trilogy
@@brandonhughes7484 Yeah I know, one of the pains of Sony owning the rights to the Spider-Man movies. We never got closure on Scorpion, Aaron Davis and the deleted scene of Miles being teased. Hopefully Homecoming finally gets closure in the next trilogy.
I've been waiting on this all week Alex! How dare you have a life and stuff! lol
The moment that 1000% sold me on this movie was when Peter is trapped under the concrete and cries out for help. The quavering voice, the shaky pitch. The fear of death in his voice, you can hear that he’s in actual pain. This isn’t some man child in college. This isn’t an adult. This is a teen. A nerdy kid who does his homework and loves his family, who was given power so strong he has to help others. But he’s still. Just. A kid. This franchise has its strengths and weaknesses, as did all the ones that came before it. But I love how inspiringly accurate of a base character Peter is. How real it feels.
Man that scene broke my heart I started crying. I love this movie so much
Also Zendaya as Mj is the wildest choice, and somehow she is absolutely PERFECT
My favorite spider man love interest by a trillion miles. She’s so real and genuinely lovable and quirky but quirky because that’s actually who she is, not for the sake of being quirky. She’s a genuine inspiration to me.
I can't imagine how much restraint it takes to want to watch all these movies and hold back. I'd be watching them one after another.🤣
Oh it’s fucking hard!
The scene in prison, for me... was "he saved my daughter, he risked his life to save me, even after I tried to kill him. I'm not telling anyone who he is."
But thats my personal take on it.
I think there is an additional line of "I'm going to kill him myself when I get out" at the end.
Yasss made it in time to watch live!
I love your videos man! You've got great energy, you're funny, and your laugh cracks me up every time. Keep it up!
I love you Alex. How is everyone doing? How is everything going? You're freaking awesome and amazing
love you back man! things are well! hope everything is going well with you!
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault that is awesome. I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you. Virtual hugs to you
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault I am doing alright. Thanks for everything. You are freaking awesome and you look amazing as well
Have you seen all the old spidermen? Theyre great. And there are some Easter eggs from their movies in the other MCU Spiderman movies
I love your videos! Thank you for the happiness!
I've been looking forward to this reaction.
While Tobey will always be MY Spider-Man, I can’t deny that the MCU Spider-Man really breathes new life into the character. I love the innocence and the youthfulness of this version of Peter Parker. Tom Holland really does a great job of selling that, I think he was 19 when he shot this movie, and perfectly portrayed a 15 year old. I bet this was one of the only times he appreciated looking younger than his age. I really can’t wait for you to get through all the Spider-Man movies, though you still have a ways to go before then. 😄
Really wish Alex would watch the 2 Amazing Spiderman films before viewing No Way Home. Would really add to the experience, but I realize it's a big ask for him to just casually slip in 2 more films
Your comment about the high pitch during moments of trauma or pain is accurate. I’ve had it twice in my life now due to physical injuries that have occurred to me. Felt very surreal.
Aaaww no...
"How is she"?
😱
Marisa Tomei.
Shes an Oscar winner AND looks like that... at almost 60 years old.
How does anyone NOT know?
So a concept in Marvel comics is the "Multiverse", the idea of parallel worlds all stacked right next to each other where things are just slightly different or wildly different. The Maguire movies take place on a different Earth in the multiverse. And that's all I'll say on this topic.
Still my favorite Spider-Man movie. Don’t @ me
it would be mine if NWH didn't exist lol
ever?
watching this reaction for the 10th time ...still awesome ...Alex's reactions are amazing bcs they r genuine
Ahem, that's no janitor, that's Batman playing the Vulture!
love these
This video gave me just the smiles I needed today! 😁
This right here is the reason I make videos!
Alex doing a reaction..
We're having a dope ass day!
What fantastic timing on the “Wonder what her parents do for a living?” question
Dude I love your videos I’ve only been watching for about a month or so but I can’t get that song out of my head lolol ear wig on crack. Thank you for all your videos and brightening my days :)
This reaction was super nice to watch, thank you Alex.
Lately I don't have enough time to watch a full movie, but a reaction of a movie has been perfect 👍
Next one is Thor Ragnarok which is my favourite of the entire MCU 🥳
I'm sure you'll love it too 😁
I am really enjoying all your movies reactions you should keep it up!
thank you for the love!
35:09 he was bitten by a radioactive spider. That’s where he got the strength to life heavy objects.
