My question is, when you put the 2.3 internals into the 2.0 block, does it become a 2.0L, or 2.3L afterwards? I have been trying to find the answer to this, but maybe i have not been wording it properly.
There are exactly zero secrets revealed here. De-bur and prep, bore, torque plate hone and deck. A more common engine machining procedure you could not find.
Awesome video thanks for the content
Do you guys work on escapes with the 2.0l?

the 2.0 is bored to a 2.3 and 2.3 internals are used making it a 2.3 with closed deck block.
@@jim6807 Thanks for the explanation. I figured it was something like that.
2.0 and 2.3 have same bore. The difference comes from the stroke, and the crankshaft.
Jim do you know if the EcoBoost motor that comes in the focus ST is closed deck? I can’t find much on it and am curious
@@idontpaytaxes6250 yes unlike rs witch is open deck
