    I love to do all the small repairs on my cars. I recently put PowerStop Z23 rotors and brakes on my car, and I'm very happy with them. I saved hundreds of dollars and have better brakes and rotors than any shop would give me.

      In my experience, once the pads are half way worn, they kinda lose their bite.

    Question I know you love your Nissans and you have “/had a g35. My G35 final bit the dust after 15 years. I’m thinking to upgrade to an M35 or M37 what are you thoughts any particular year models I should focus on? Thanks!

      They both have the same VQ37 motor. VQ37 is the best VQ motor made. Try to get the M37. Please subscribe.

      So the 2006-2008 M35 came with the VQ35DE, in 2009 it got the VQ35HR, or High rev, Both are great engines but I would go with the VQ35HR because it has much less tendency to burn oil like the VQ35DE. I would go with a 2009 or 2010 M35. The M37 came with a different VQ motor, VQ37HR, and then a seven speed automatic transmission. The five speed automatic transmission is going to be more reliable, both are great cars, of course the seven speed is going to get better gas mileage… no offense to this gentleman that posted the video but he was incorrect..

    I made the mistake of buying Brembo smooth rotors and all Brembo pads and shoes for my Tacoma. I tow about once a month and little over a year they are trashed already. I don’t even drive hard. The pads and the nastiest pads I’ve ever used and they look about half worn already. I need something that holds up better. I’m thinking maybe go with the power stop z36 complete towing set or maybe EBC high carbon rotors with EBC pads or akebono ultra premium pads then stock in the rear since most people don’t offer performance drum and shoe options.

    • @runningrich
      @runningrich  2 роки тому

      Start with the z36 pads. EBC pads are high performance pads, sometimes they need to be warmed up before hard brakes and they might be noisy too. I don't have much faith on Akebono.

    Older vehicles used asbestos linings, not cork or rubber. Asbestos linings would produce cancer-causing dust. Then came metallics, which were better. Now, ceramic, and ceramic-carbon-fiber.

    Hmmm I'm not sure if that's even true anymore with these brake pads, I've seen some fellow UA-camrs run out their pads and then just putting a new set in during track sessions, no bedding process and the pads just stop like they should..

    • @runningrich
      @runningrich  2 роки тому

      It all depends on the pad, these days you can definitely find pads that are pre bedded.

    Garbage for a heavier car like my dodge charger after only 6 months the little pieces of copper in the pads squeak replaced then 4 months earlier and the same thing. Switched over to brembo pads with these same powerstop rotors and the noise is gone.

    • @runningrich
      @runningrich  2 роки тому

      That's interesting. What feature on the powerstop you think worked? The rubber backing pads?

    • @blkeclipsel2400
      @blkeclipsel2400 Місяць тому

      Interesting.. I have a 5th gen 2SS and no sounds or juttering. I'm not sure if it's as heavy as your vehicle, but it's not lightweight.
      Did you oil all the contact points, pins, and shims correctly? Did you perform the burnishing procedure?
      Also, did you have the z23's ? I was under the impression they are ceramic and carbon fiber. No copper.

    Two months after I purchased the Power Stop brake kit my right rear caliper failed and began leaking brake fluid. After waiting three weeks for the part, they now tell me the ETA is over a month away. This really sucks. I now have to buy and install a temporary generic caliper while I wait for the Power Stop caliper. Don't do it.
