- Just a quick word on what is happening with the beaver pelts. It is plenty cool enough that they will keep without the hair slipping until I can get them back home and finish tanning them properly. Let me know if there is any interest in a hide tanning series. I would be happy to share the process if people are interested. Thank you to everyone who watches.

Love and agreed with your philosophy of getting the most out of an animal you have harvested. Hope you will indeed record and upload the tanning process when you get home, would very much like to see that. Would be interested in your thoughts on how earlier trappers dealt with the issue of tanning in cold weather, if you have any. Have seen some videos from Indigenous trappers on their techniques and process, but as I recall they to worked in very warm conditions.
As a life member of the Alaska Trappers Association, I'll say your ethics are honorable and right in wanting to do the animal justice. Good choice in deciding to take the pelts home so they can be taken care of properly. Please show the tanning process... it would be great for all. Peace to you from Alaska!

You mentioned the beavers (when trapped) had fleas, I would think fleas would drown on a beaver that spends much of it's time in and under water? 🤔
Turns out that fleas can hold out 24 hours underwater.
So, what are your plans to make the beaver 🦫 pelts into ounce their properly tanned, dried, and broken? Are you going to make them into fur hats, fur rugs, fur gloves, small fur blankets? Please post an update on this because we're all curious, and it's been over two months now.

How will you use these pelts when you've completed them?
The easiest way to thin the hides is to put them on a stretcher and after its dry sand the flesh side down thinner
