I am going to build an 8ft privacy cedar fence with a kickboard and top cap trim and the zoning requires it to be no more than 8ft from ground level. If I use the 8ft pickets the way they come with the extra inches on bottom and top it will be to taller than 8ft. So would you cut all the pickets down to make the overall size 8ft? I assume that is what you do or would do. The other option I see is just not worry about the extra inches and hope no one notices. Any help would be great. Thanks
