4’ fence (48”)… 8” each horizontal board (x3= 24”)… leaves 24” left for the 2 horizontal gaps in the fence(12” each)… 12” spacing between the rail boards

We only use western red cedar because it lasts so much longer. If you keep it coated with a good oil based stain every+/- 3 years it will probably outlive us! Let us know how your project works out

A ledger board is attached to the column with lag bolts and then the roof is attached. The city will ususally help you with this when you apply for the permit and they send it to the engineers. Thanks for asking

2X8 at 16" oac and the 2x2's are 2" apart

We have about 50% who want the top cap and 50% who don't so you can't make a mistake. Note: The top cap is a 2x6 and the squirrels love having a 6" wide highway for their adventures

I think having extra trim on a fence makes it look that much better. Just don't go only two feet into the ground. I'm doing 3 feet.

The gates are custom made on site based on the size of the driveway. There is no kit. Where do you live?

The heart and soul of the gate which is the motor and chain is a kit. U might need to trim the chain shorter or longer but it is a kit. The rest is pretty much diy able

Each project is a one off custom build.

We run into this quite often. The gate will be 3' longer than the driveway. You must have enough room for it to fully open. We also have a double rolling gate for that reason. Give me an email address and I will send you a video

Have you tried Lowes or Home Depot.... they carry everything here in the Dallas - Ft Worth area

@@affordablebackyardconstruc2215 Its funny, I go to HD and Lowes all the time and never would have thought they were over there. Never did ask. I always saw pickets but one day I was looking for something unrelated and stumbled on a section of exactly what I needed. lol HD is where I ended up finding them and built with those. Heck even on the website it says not available in your area but they were darn sure there in the store. Thanks.

Each gate is a custom build and therefore the weight is different on every one. We use a Liftmaster CSL24U commercial opener and have never had a problem

I would have dug it 4 feet since it is a 12 foot pole and a lot of weight to hold up.

We cut the tops off the posts to match the 8' tall fence
