EVOMS - This would be a great prize to win, as I am about to start my garden building project (A physiotherapy room for my brother who has cerebral palsy) within the next few weeks, I was quoted over £25000 by a company to build one to my specifications which is simply out of my price bracket (I'm a carer), then I found your build series and thought I would build it myself following your instructions, I have zero experience in building anything and no power tools to work with at the moment and I have just purchased a hammer, hand saw, and a spirit level set. Thanks for taking the time to showcase your build and giving us novices the confidence to build our own garden room : )
EVOMS - Great source for information. When you are approaching a DIY job and have little or no experience in the task, this type of guidance (i.e. being able to actually SEE the theory and techniques being applied) is extremely valuable. UA-cam put to its best use, and a great example of one persons learning curve shortening that of others. Thank you.
EVOMS - Really useful video as always Ali. My partner and I have just bought our first house so I'm finally able to put all I learn from your videos into practice. Thanks
You’re so good at explaining each step and I’m needing to replace part of my fence and twin gates. Other YTers just say “this is how”, but then don’t explain why. Your explanations mean that I can make my projects based on my situation. Thank you :)
EVOMS There’s nothing like the seal of approval from your significant other. This would be invaluable for the retaining sleeper bank, workshop renovation and chicken coop we are going to build. Not forgetting saving our elbows. Great content.
EVOMS At 2:06, the reason this post had a big split in it is because the pith (centre) of the tree is in that post. When buying timber try to avoid buying any with the pith in, its more likely to split and warp. Great video!
EVOMS. Did double gates fit your garden 6 years ago. That have me confidence to go onto bigger projects. The posts I bought had a groove sawn in I assume to prevent further splitting. Was amazed when doing my research that so many guides had the compression brace timbers running the wrong way offering no support whatsoever. Looking forward to the final part.
So true, I looked up a local fencer before doing this project and there was a picture of the brace running the other way. Nah, I'll do it myself. When the brace runs the other way it's called a 'tension brace' which does work if you are building with green wood. As the wood dries out it pulls the bottom latch side upwards but all timber we use nowadays is kiln dried so unless you are a using a wire, it's generally wrong.
EVOMS - Watched all your work Ali, the Garden room was extremely informative. So this Vid is all EVO!.. EVO-lution and EVO-stik.. Lol... Fantastic grounds of your new house and tonnes of potential for building content for us to enjoy. Cheers Ali. Chris Jones 👍
EVOMS - Planning to build a garden room as a home office. Watched your garden room videos which have been very useful for planning out how to build my own
EVOMS Just planning my workshop and garden room projection. A mitre saw is going to be a necessity. Lots of inspiration and ideas from your previous build series. I know even may tackle a new gate too!
You know, I think it just comes across that way in video, I really wouldn't describe myself as high energy or super productive, actually I find focus and productivity quite a struggle!
EVOMS. Loving the mini series on your garden fence project Ali. I'm glad to see you are putting in as much detail as you did with the garden room videos 👍
EVOMS Love all your videos, best bit is they show you don't have to be scared of DIY. Plus there well explained..... I'll be starting my Garden office late this year.
EVOMS Really enjoying this series. I love the fact you recycled the existing post. I used a cheap table saw for half lap joints on my gate, but it’s tough doing the laps at the midpoint.
EVOMS - Garage gym build about to begin my stud work journey. Really found your channel massively helpful. Particularly the insulation and stud work on the summer room build you did. Thanks - keep great content coming
EVOMS Another great video. I always like how you include your mistakes and how you fixed the issue. Makes me feel better when I make an error knowing I'm not the only one. Looking forward to more in your series.
EVOMS - yes, agree with others that you’re very good at explaining the process. I probably won’t be building a gate or fence anytime soon but loved the garden room series!
EVOMS, really like your videos they are very easy to follow, im about to start an outside building project and found your step by step guide very helpful, it answered alot of questions I had.
EVOMS - Good tip about going steeper than 45 degrees. I had always thought it should only be 45 degrees. Thanks very much I will use that with the work I am planning.
EVOMS - Always frightens me when UA-cam seems to know what I’m looking for. I’ve been watching lots of garden house videos, but I have a project to move the garden fence/gate forward so my side door is in the garden and not the drive. I haven’t researched or watched any videos regarding this, so saw part two which caught my eye. My plan is to put a 25/75 gate for flexibility. Great video 👍🏼
EVOMS - This video is great, I've been following you since you first started.... I was going to go for a garden building (How I originally found your channel) but opted to convert half of my garage (preserving valuable garden space!)! That said, I am doing some fencing and making my own gate in the next month or so so this video is SPOT ON!. Love your technical explanations mate. Very engaging and encouraging - Keep up the good work
EVOMS. Great stuff, Ali. I think I'm gonna wander down memory lane and have another look at the Garden Room series. It was only last year I built mine but it seems so long ago...! Best aye!
EVOMS Great set of videos. House hunting at the moment and one of the criteria is definitely a garden suitable for me to have a go at building my own garden room!
EVOMS - love how detailed each video you make is. Have watched your workshop series over and over - I'm about to start building a small shed as practice run for building our garden home office
EVOMS - Found your channel last weekend and have since binged watched the whole of the garden room series as we are currently clearing the ground to build one in our own garden, albeit with a pitched roof. Admire your attention to detail and the research that you do, and enjoyed watching your skills evolve as the project progressed. Like most posters would love the EVO saw but, for now, the content of your videos is the most important thing - keep 'em comin'!
EVOMS - Brilliantly timed series as I'm about to launch into fencing around our extension to our kitchen garden. I watched fencers at the local building site putting up fences and making it look very easy. But your series actually tells me what I really need to do! Thanks.
EVOMS - thanks for this series Ali, really helpful as I am about to embark on a similar project. Great that you mention mistakes you make along the way so others can avoid - top class !
EVOMS - really enjoying this and your previous garden room series. Have taken plenty of tips away especially from the garden room and hope to put some of them to use in my upcoming garage conversion project
EVOMS I really enjoy your videos Ali. I'm a good for nothing when it comes to DIY but I'm starting to give things a go thanks to your step by step explanations. What's next?
EVOMS Great videos, been watching since the garden room, and now this pops up along with the gate video just as I need to do the same in a couple of weeks
EVOMS - Great vid again Ali. Love your attention to detail and the information you give on all the projects. Got a load of 4x2s to cut soon to make some garden furniture and the Evo saw would be perfect! All the best
EVOMS - perfect timing i have just purchased my fence posts and about to start my double gates, however im am looking to build them useing mortise and tenon joints which i have never done before.......at least i have an alternative now if it all goes wrong. Thanks great series.
EVOMS - Thank you for a great video lesson on adding to a post height and building your own gate. You’ve helped me on how to build a good strong shed base for my beach hut project, and what bolts to use to secure to the dense blocks (still yet to buy the bolts, but thank you again for link and responding to my message). This is my next job as my gate posts are rotten. The EVO Mitre Saw would help me enormously as only have a good old fashioned hand saw.
Discovered your channel last night (21/7/20) love your content. My partner and I have just purchased a house and we need to do a bit of work, build fences and summerhouse/storage shed. I’ve found your advice to be practical and easy to follow. Keep the content coming....😀
EVOMS Another cracking video mate. I’m looking to start a garden room like the one you did at your old house and this would help a lot. Thanks for the very informative vids, they’re appreciated. All the best, Russ.
Nice job, can see a lot of work went in to that even if the video was quick-fire and fairly short, the finer details take the most time. EVOMS, think I need to upgrade my mitre saw.
Glad you enjoyed Peter. Indeed, I'm not sure whether professionals have quite so many issues but hopefully it's encouraging to others that most errors can be solved :)
EVOMS as usual great detail and explanation in the videos, also really glad you are continuing on to other topics now the garden room is basically complete.
EVOMS - Your videos are amazing!! They're really in depth with great explanations. I'll be using your videos for my garden room and fence this summer!! Thanks for the hard work, keep it up.
EVOMS. have the evolution circular saw and great piece of equipment. Even used it with a diamond tip blade and while it took a bit effort it cut the bit of concrete I needed it to cut. Great videos anyway. Loved the shed build and loving this new series.
EVOMS - another great series, I’m about to set myself to building a man cave/workshop combo replacing the growing kids trampoline with a den for them and a workshop for me. Your videos are just great and I love the technical bits as I really learn something rather than just learning how to dream! But first things first I need to redo my fencing (man cave needs a secure garden....) thanks again
EVOMS Good job! looked tricky getting around all those trees! Inspired by your garden workshop vids, I'm starting mine next year... once the council have approved! Needs PP and regs as it will include overnight usage. Fingers crossed!
EVOMS - and many thanks for the informative content which has me feeling I could possibly tackle some stuff I would previously have considered beyond me
EVOMS - I do love these vidoes, the way they are explained and then shown really help me understand what to do in situations like these. would love to see you do a set about pergolas or gazebos after your fence and workshop is is done.
EVOMS I didn't think I'd enjoy the gates videos as much as your others, but actually so far I have. Given me some ideas of my own project. Thanks.
EVOMS - Great source for information. When you are approaching a DIY job and have little or no experience in the task, this type of guidance (i.e. being able to actually SEE the theory and techniques being applied) is extremely valuable. EVOMS - Really useful video as always Ali. My partner and I have just bought our first house so I'm finally able to put all I learn from your videos into practice. Thanks
EVOMS - great video as always. Like the fact, that you're honest about your mistakes, so we can all (hopefully) avoid them.
You’re so good at explaining each step and I’m needing to replace part of my fence and twin gates. Other YTers just say “this is how”, but then don’t explain why. Your explanations mean that I can make my projects based on my situation. Thank you :)
That’s great that they resonate with you!
Good knowledge! I’ll have a look at the other post and see what kind of cut they gave me.
EVOMS - Enjoying this series as much as I did the garden room build. Always very detailed which is great.
EVOMS. Did double gates fit your garden 6 years ago. That have me confidence to go onto bigger projects. The posts I bought had a groove sawn in I assume to prevent further splitting. EVOMS - both your garden building and this fencing series are very well explained and presented. Thanks
EVOMS - Never mind your capabilities (which are impressive), it's the sheer energy that amazes me.
You know, I think it just comes across that way in video, I really wouldn't describe myself as high energy or super productive, actually I find focus and productivity quite a struggle!
EVOMS - Been following since the garden room series. Brilliant channel. Glad your back.
Exactly. Mistakes happen, but nearly all can be solved with a bit of thought!
EVOMS
High quality in depth content as we've come to expect. I don't even need to build a fence and I'm enjoying it 😂
Haha, thanks Andy!
EVOMS - The garden office is almost clad and now moving on to building a fence so really useful to have these videos
EVOMS I have to replace 50% of my fencing due to poor quality work. You videos really help and explain the process in so much detail. Thank you
EVOMS. Please keep making these, they are invaluable to the even more casual DIY er!
EVOMS- great series and lots of great tips and info.... planning new fencing myself, just need a good mitre saw to help with the job!
EVOMS Another great video. I always like how you include your mistakes and how you fixed the issue. Makes me feel better when I make an error knowing I'm not the only one. Looking forward to more in your series.
EVOMS - Thanks Ali, constantly quality content with so much detail. Keep it up!
EVOMS - Love your diligent approach to DIY, looking forward to part 3.
EVOMS - yes, agree with others that you’re very good at explaining the process. I probably won’t be building a gate or fence anytime soon but loved the garden room series!
EVOMS Starting my garden office build later in the year. Using your vids every step of the way. Many thanks! 👍
EVOMS, really like your videos they are very easy to follow, im about to start an outside building project and found your step by step guide very helpful, it answered alot of questions I had.
EVOMS - I'm building the exact same double doors for my workshop. Really well timed video. Thanks!
EVOMS - Good tip about going steeper than 45 degrees. I had always thought it should only be 45 degrees. Thanks very much I will use that with the work I am planning.

EVOMS - Another informative video. I've got a gate to replace, feeling more confident that my approach will work now with the hints from this video.
EVOMS - I really enjoyed the garden room office build. I look forward to your house developments.

EVOMS. Another great video Ali. Love the post extension, it will soon become less obvious with weathering.👍

EVOMS I really enjoy your videos Ali. I'm a good for nothing when it comes to DIY but I'm starting to give things a go thanks to your step by step explanations. What's next?
Good for you! I’ll outline that at the end of next video 👍
This is the best most well explained video I have yet to find. Thank you!
So glad you like it. I'm secretly quite proud of my gates, they've held up well so far :)
EVOMS - Another great video at just the right time for building a shed door. Thanks.
EVOMS so happy seeing what you are up too ! keep up the good work
EVOMS. I love the detail you go into in all your videos, your garden room series is my go to videos whilst I’m planning a workshop 👍

EVOMS - your videos have been a godsend as I'm currently building a garden room/shed, very useful indeed!
EVOMS - Great vid again Ali. Love your attention to detail and the information you give on all the projects. Got a load of 4x2s to cut soon to make some garden furniture and the Evo saw would be perfect! All the best
EVOMS - Loving the content. Can’t wait for the last part in the fence/gate building series.
EVOMS. Great video Ali! I need to replace a sagging back gate, and this has given me the confidence to attempt it myself.
EVOMS I am so jealous of the way your garden backs out into the woodlands ❤️
Nice job on the gates 👍
EVOMS - really enjoying this series. Very thorough as always!
EVOMS - Cheers from the Newcastle/Gateshead area! Learning a lot and looking forward to apply it once I get my first house (in progress!)
EVOMS - your'e doing a great job and have an excellent delivery in terms of theory and practical
EVOMS - perfect timing i have just purchased my fence posts and about to start my double gates, however im am looking to build them useing mortise and tenon joints which i have never done before.......at least i have an alternative now if it all goes wrong. Thanks great series.
Ah you're braver than me then! That will make a very solid joint
EVOMS - Thank you for a great video lesson on adding to a post height and building your own gate. This is my next job as my gate posts are rotten. The EVO Mitre Saw would help me enormously as only have a good old fashioned hand saw.
Nice to see you back. I definitely will be doing a side gate build.
I enjoy the approach you take in explaining each project. Well done. EVOMS
EVOMS currently planning my garden room/workshop. Your videos have been invaluable!
EVOMS- Excellent video as usual. I have been looking into buying a saw as I am doing my house up.
EVOMS perfect timing on these videos as I am currently at the start of the same fencing project
Discovered your channel last night (21/7/20) love your content. My partner and I have just purchased a house and we need to do a bit of work, build fences and summerhouse/storage shed. I’ve found your advice to be practical and easy to follow. Keep the content coming....😀
Thanks Andrew and welcome! Congrats on your home purchase :)

EVOMS - great video, as usual! Especially appreciate the info in the video description!
EVOMS - Your videos are amazing!! They're really in depth with great explanations. I'll be using your videos for my garden room and fence this summer!! Thanks for the hard work, keep it up.
EVOMS excellent series of video’s my ‘go to’ for great content.
EVOMS - thanks for doing this! Would be a god send for the planned garden room build.
EVOMS. have the evolution circular saw and great piece of equipment. Even used it with a diamond tip blade and while it took a bit effort it cut the bit of concrete I needed it to cut. Great videos anyway. Loved the shed build and loving this new series.

EVOMS - another super video, very informative as always and I love the style with you commenting on the video, makes for much better audio!
EVOMS - another very informative video and the new house looks awesome!
EVOMS with this I'd finally have no excuse for not replacing on my own fence :). Great video as always
EVOMS - just what I need to build my garage doors. Thank Ali
EVOMS Good job! looked tricky getting around all those trees! Inspired by your garden workshop vids, I'm starting mine next year... once the council have approved! Needs PP and regs as it will include overnight usage. Fingers crossed!
EVOMS - Keep it up mate, your videos always go into so much detail👍 quality as always
The video equivalent of Ronseal - does exactly what it says on the tin. Very matter of fact. Even covering the mistakes that we all make. Like it! 😁
EVOMS!
Love the vids, I keep referring to the garden Room series as I plan my own workshop/man cave!
EVOMS - and many thanks for the informative content which has me feeling I could possibly tackle some stuff I would previously have considered beyond me
EVOMS. Always spot on info and entertaining at the same time. Great job 👍
EVOMS
Love your detail mate, thanks to your effort and patience!! Keep it up and looking forward to the next one!
EVOMS Yet again another excellent detailed build video. Well done Ali it's looking great.
EVOMS - great to follow this video, a real help for a similar (but thankfully smaller!) project I’m just about to start...
EVOMS - I do love these vidoes, the way they are explained and then shown really help me understand what to do in situations like these. would love to see you do a set about pergolas or gazebos after your fence and workshop is is done.
EVOMS Always look forward to your videos, expertly explained and narrated
Thanks Ben!
