Planning to install a new stereo to 2010 F150. Crutch field says that with one of the bundles they offer, the factory display screen above the stereo will only display “DVD”. Yours shows Apple Car Play. What step achieves this?
That sounds like the PAC interface module, which doesn’t have full support for the screen. This is the iDataLink Maestro which does fully utilize the screen.
Just successfully installed the DMX809S (I wanted wireless CarPlay so I splurged) with Maestro and using the Scosche kit. I can’t thank you enough for this video. You’re the man!
@@TheBurnoutBroadcast Can you add a back up camera? That shows when's switched to reverse or just tap on screen? Just bought a similar truck and want to upgrade. Thanks great video
Yes you can, the stereo has a yellow RCA plug on it for regular camera signal. For power just tap into the reverse signal so it turns on when in reverse, and set the stereo to switch to camera mode when in reverse.
Factory USB will work if connected to the new unit as shown in the video, AUX will work if connections are made to the Maestro and it is configured correctly, or if the jack is rewired to the appropriate connector on the new unit and connected that way.
Fantastic and most detailed I have seen. Can't wait to replicate on my 2012 XLT.
Does this and most aftermarket radios still have the ability to get Sirius radio?

@@TheBurnoutBroadcast Thanks Phil, for your feedback.
Just a quick question why you tap into the ODB
Any suggestion on where to screw the mounts to the stereo? I cant seem to line it up.

I got the same head unit. Did you splice into the Sync unit as instructions said? Just curious if I need to do this.
Just did the same setup with same radio. I cant get the voice, phone answer and hang up to work. The volume the seek button works what could it be
Make sure to check the maestro settings for steering wheel controls when you flash the module, the values may have been changed.
Can you give part numbers or links for these items?
All links are in the description.
Is this the same for a 2013?
Yes if the dash is the same as in the video. Some were this style, but most were the newer style with the small screen in the centre.
does the backup camera still work?
This truck doesn’t have one, but it will work on trucks that do.

Where did you connect the reverse an parking brake wires. Location please.
All done through the Maestro module, no other connections made.
Does it mirror his phone?
It can mirror Android phones, but not iPhones.
Do you loose the climate options on the sync original screen?
They will be retained as long as the options are set correctly when flashing the module.
Does the factory usb and aux chord still work?
Factory USB will work if connected to the new unit as shown in the video, AUX will work if connections are made to the Maestro and it is configured correctly, or if the jack is rewired to the appropriate connector on the new unit and connected that way.
Hey do I need to take the radio to get spliced at all?
Yea because the after market stereo needs more volts than the stock radio has. I tried to install my stereo and it didn’t turn on bc of low voltage
where did you put the maestro unit?
It is directly behind the stereo, since this stereo is quite low profile it fits well behind it.
Will this work for a 2010?
Yes
Did the upgrade alow you to still have the use of the backup camera?
Yes
