  • Quick video, and I’m sorry that I’m not great with these! This is how I do my water slides to help keep them from wrinkling up. I’m sorry I cut off at the last teeny bit but the important parts are all there.
    ***UPDATED 1/2022 - I never dreamed people would STILL be referring to this over 2 years later! I've updated the amazon links below - yes they're referral links, they cost you nothing extra and I get a tiny reward for each purchase:
    CLEAR waterslide paper for inkjet printers: amzn.to/3rMs63S
    WHITE waterslide paper for inkjet: amzn.to/3rN0DPr
    CLEAR for LASER printer: amzn.to/3qxNrzn
    WHITE for LASER printers: amzn.to/38a5fYq
    My FAVORITE glitters come from Britches N Bows Shop on Etsy, or from Mr. Nola's.

    • @margaritamondays4985

      lenora nikia if it’s a waterproof decal yes. Get a smooth coat of epoxy (it may take more than one coat!), then apply the decal, then another layer of epoxy to seal. If the sticker is a paper-y sticker, the epoxy is going to soak in and make it look awful.

      Katie Warrant for anything other than VERY light backgrounds, white. HOWEVER to save on having to buy both, if you have a vinyl cutter, you can cut vinyl to the outline (JUST inside the outline of your waterslide) and place clear waterslide over that. Whichever is easier. I do that if I don’t have white waterslide on hand.

    • @margaritamondays4985
      @margaritamondays4985  3 роки тому

      Yes, you want a VERY smooth surface before waterslide. You want to sandwich the waterslide decal between layers of epoxy. You can sand before the waterslide if needed, but if you’re using a clear Waterslide, try to avoid it because the marks from sanding will show through and make it look cloudy.

      Sure! This is called waterslide paper. The brand I used in particular is called Blinggasm, but you can also buy on Amazon. I used white here. It comes in white and clear. Clear will be (obviously) clear, and most of your ink will be somewhat transparent. Generally you would use that on white or VERY light colors. Nothing white in your image will print (printers don’t print white). It doesn’t show up well on anything besides very light backgrounds. White will print just as you would on a white piece of paper and not be transparent.

    Hi everyone, can I get some help? :/ I am having massive printing issues. My printer leaves scratch marks all the time and sometimes the print is totally unusable. My printer back feed uses wheels that make contact with the ink on the paper and leave marks, and my front feed keeps bumping into curved or elevated surfaces on the paper, scratching the ink. Does anyone know how this can be solved?
    Many thanks in advance :)

      Smerfy 956 double check that you got the right type for your printer. If it is the right kind, it does probably need more clear coat. Many folks report good luck using a coat of clear spray, and Plasti-Dip Glossifier (clear). I find using 3-4 good coats of clear is best.

    • @staciwilson9529
      @staciwilson9529 5 років тому +1

      I spray mine with 3 thin coats of clear rustoleum. No problems unless I spray closer than 12-16inches from the image. 1 coat every 30min to make sure I have a good seal to the ink. I have correct waterslide paper for my printer, but inkjet printers need a sealer. So I print my image. Let it dry for a day, next day I spray it (once ever 30min) 3x total. After it dries after the last coat, I cut and trim. Then I use it on whatever.

    Cold/ luke warmish water....dunk the decal in there and count to ten SLOWLY....pull the decal off the paper and put it in place on the item. Sqeegee the water out of it and let idry over night before moving on to the next step.....Different brands of decals need different water temperatures......experiment......

      Rhonda Walker you can, but waterslide has no adhesive properties and I would think it would need to be sealed If it’s going to be handled

      You have to bake it if you use it on glass or ceramic.

    Okay, I do these on my nails all the time. If you use a big mochie stamp, you can lay on flat on the stamp, then stamp it onto the cup. It's leaps and bounds easier than this
