    Hello!! I am new to making decorative cups and tumblers and I absolutely love your video's, they are so helpful to me. I have sort of a dumb question, I see that a lot of people use epoxy to seal the glitter and decals in the cups but I have also see people use triple thick glaze. My question is have you used the triple thick glaze on your tumblers? If so how did you like the results? If you have not used it why not and would you recommend only using the epoxy? I don't have a cup turner and I am just trying to find a way to seal in my designs so they can be washed. Thanks in advance.

    So I only sand after the first epoxy if needed? I can put my vinyl on even if it's not sanded? Also how long do you turn your tumbler for?

    First of all I love your video's and I am excited to try to make something like this for my wife. I notice you mentioned that you are switching from ozarka to Hogg. I noticed that Hogg brand had the name on the bottom that sticks out. How do you get around that with the glitter does it make it uneven?

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  6 років тому

      Nathan Godinez Ozark sticks out. I buy blank hoggs and they are only branded on the underneath of the bottom of the cup. Smooth sides. 👍🏻

    Is there a reason why you don’t bring the glitter all the way up to the top of the cup? Thanks in advance 😊

    I'm having problems with my vinyl lifting while cups are on the turner for the epoxy. Do you happen to know why this might be happening? Or what I can do to prevent it?

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  5 років тому +3

      You most likely didn't press it down enough so it's not adhering very well and the epoxy is working itself under the vinyl. I would advise spending more time pressing it down, the entire thing. I like to run over my transfer tape with my scraper to make sure it is pressed down. Another option would be to let it "cure" to the cup for 24 hours and then try.

    is it okay to use a removable printable vinyl, print, then cut, then put it on the glitter tumbler, then epoxy and seal over it?

      Yes. It doesn’t matter what you use if you’re dealing it in epoxy.

    I’m a newbie to this... I bought some do the holographic vinyl to use on a tumbler. I’m not putting glitter on it before (i might try that on my next project!) However, I keep seeing something about permanent vinyl. Do you feel like this vinyl holds up good on a tumbler? Thanks in advance!!

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  6 років тому

      kelsocheer If it’s the cricut vinyl you’d have to test it. It’s not a permanent vinyl so not made to withstand a longer period of time like permanent.

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  3 роки тому +1

      I typically only need 1 coat of epoxy after decal...but sometimes it will take 2 coats.

  • @Lollietopreciouslittles

    I added the glitter over the epoxy, do I have to add another coat of epoxy before the decal or just after?

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, you will need to epoxy until smooth and then add the decal. The decal won't stick directly to the glitter and if you add it before your epoxy is smooth you will be able to see all the bumps behind it from the glitter.

    Ok so I’m new to this let’s see if I got it lol so first step, mod podge then glitter, then more mod podge and more glitter, then let it dry then apply 1 coat of epoxy? Then sand if needed put decal, one more coat of epoxy and let it dry and done??? Hope to get some answers I’m really confused lol I saw someone sprayed the cup with some type of spray glue after adding more glitter, is that needed?

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  5 років тому

      Monse Cruz There are really so many ways to do it. You’ll want to try the different methods and find what works for you. I use either mod podge or epoxy as my adhesive and then do generally do 2-3 coats of epoxy. 👍🏻

    I need to bother you once more! I have someone making my decals. I'm doing a few cups that will have color on them of course. I have the design I want, but should I go with just black outline and no color in the decal itself? Cup colors ombre black/yellow, red/green, green solid, dark red/black and blue/orange.

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  6 років тому +1

      Gina Clark decals are 100% preference. 95% of the time my customers choose. If I choose I do a coordinating color. I’ve done an offset of a different color if it blended too much with cup.

    What do you do if your vinyl lifts away from the cup while under the epoxy?

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  4 роки тому

      That's the worst when it happens. It's best to try and push it down with a silicone brush until the epoxy thickens up to where it stays under. If the epoxy is already cured, you'll need to sand it off down to the decal and reapply it and reepoxy.

    So these are completely done and ready to go then? In some other comments you said you put epoxy over the decals as well as over the glitter. But in the video you don't say anything about that & you make it sound as if all you need to do is stick the vinyl on and your done. I'm confused.

      sms725841 This video is specifically to show the decals being placed on the tumbler. I did not cover other steps as I cover the entire process in other videos. I do seal my decals with another coat of epoxy, however it’s not required if you don’t want to and you’re using a permanent vinyl.

      If you can feel pokes and bumps that won’t be covered by the final coat of epoxy. Depends on glitter too because if it’s metallic you probably want to add another coat of epoxy before sanding. I use 400 grit wet/dry and sand under running water.

      Mitko&Elena Conevi It’s cricut adhesive vinyl. I am not sure if it’s dishwasher safe, but my cups aren’t anyway so it doesn’t matter.

I also seen the variety of vinyls. The creation options are vast! Question can you put these vinyls on metal like a pen? And one more question... Lol

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  6 років тому +3

      Tiffany Goodhue If I can I wait until the next day to give it time to cure a bit. But as long as you press it on REALLY well you can apply immediately. If it’s not pressed everywhere enough, you can have a decal lift under your epoxy.

    Those turned out beautiful! I'm a newbie at this so excuse any dumb questions or comments...LOL. So you just sand around the vinyl and epoxy one more time...yes?

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  7 років тому

      AggieMom2 Maupin Yes, that’s exactly what I did. Where I placed the vinyl was super smooth, but there were a couple spots that needed a little sanding. I just sanded those spots and wiped with acetone, making sure I didn’t hit the vinyl with the sandpaper or acetone. I could have done the sanding prior so I didn’t have to be careful too, but I wanted to get them on. 😊

      Minderella, I've noticed in some of your comments that you mention "sealing". When exactly do you seal your tumblers and what do you use? And is it bad if you don't seal? Thanks and sorry for all the questions!

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  7 років тому

      I have not sealed one of mine yet. But, if I do another checkered I will. Sealing is done with a clear coat, people use different ones. I use the Rustolem Clear to seal when I have sealed my waterslide decals and it worked great. I would probably use that to seal the glitter. Sealing is done so that your glitter doesn't shift when you apply epoxy. The checkered cup I picked out shifted glitter for 45 minutes lol

    • @soniapm911
      @soniapm911 7 років тому

      So you seal as many times as you apply glitter?

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  7 років тому

      AggieMom2 Maupin I haven’t sealed before, but if I did, I would only seal after final coat of glitter before applying epoxy.

      Shannon Washington Until it’s cured hard to the touch. 10-12 hours is the soonest. I usually wait 24 Because I don’t have time before.

    Can you stick vinyl before adding the epoxy and once ur done adding glitter and vinyl can u use epoxy ?

    • @MinderellaCreations
      @MinderellaCreations  6 років тому

      Jessica Moreno The vinyl shows bumps very well and sticking it directly onto the glitter it would be very rough looking. It also wouldn’t adhere very well and could pop up out of your epoxy.
