Cheaper than water slide too!! Thank you!
Clear contact paper works for bigger images.
you can also do stencil black images with a normal printer it wont pull the white from it. I used to use that method years ago before i bought a laser printer....i love everything you do...i never thought about doing this with the laser printer....
I really enjoy your tutorials but the fur stresses me out! I'm a messy crafter and I'm always worried about what adhesives etc are getting into the fur or what fur is sticking to the crafts! LOL!
Me too. I always think everything is going to top over. or that the fur is going to be in the epoxy and her hard work will be ruined.
The fur seems crazy to me as well
How on earth did the photo stay on the tape, after you rubbed it off?? !!! Crazy!!! You are amazing!! So I could do your tumbler photo like this with laser printed photo and that tube of stuff? Oh my goodness!! Then could I epoxy over it?
Do you do epoxy before the picture?
On Your tape transfer.
I use to make labels for products and I waterproofed by using a wide tape.
Uline has tape 4”, 5” & 6” + a tape dispenser. It’s called (label protection tape).
Hope this helps. Love this technique. I’m a newbie great channel.
Do you do the epoxy before or after putting your image on it?
Can u use epoxy afterwards? What happens to the packing tape
Thank you so much!! So many people are unwilling to show how they do their tumblers.
Summer, once you have the image on with the packing tape, with the "tails" of the tape, do you cut it down to the image, or pull all the tape off?
Tammi Schuetz That was my question too. :)
Tammi Schuetz yes cut it down to size and the epoxy!
Cassie Kent so you leave the tape on the image - cut rest of tape away? Just want to be clear
I had the same question on the tape method, is the tape left on the image is expoxed over the tape after cutting the excess tape off?
Instead of using the packaging tape. Couldnt you just use transfer tape since it's bigger and could make a bigger image?
Andrea Stone holy crap you are a genius!!! I was racking my brain trying to figure out a “big” piece of tape that would be bigger than tape and came up BLANK! This is amazing!! I just had an A-Ha!! Moment!! Join my FB group immediately so I can award you a button..... They are super fun!
@@LittleLeeandRose thank you! What is your fb group?
Andrea Stone littlelee and rose Tumblers and More
The link is in the description!
Use the clear duck brand contact paper it’s permanent adhesive and works with inkjet as well
Andrea Stone your comment was an Aha! Moment for me as well.
i can't thank you enough for doing this. i tried doing my sisters family on wood but seen someone do modgepodge but never said it had to be laser printer and i used inkjet and it's didn't come out. thanks i learn alot from you..
I’ve been doing this since the 1980’s. It works, but not new technique.
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me!! You’re enthusiastic nature is SO contagious and You’re SUCH an inspiration to me! Definitely my favorite you tuber!! I just can’t say enough about how you inspire me, and not just with crafts, in life in general. I absolutely can’t wait to be able to afford to subscribe to your sway bag. It would be a dream! As you know everything to do with making tumblers is SO DANG EXPENSE! So, I’ve started with WalMart glitter and dollar store cups. I’m hoping to be able to afford the swag bag soon! PLEASE keep the videos coming! Thank You!
Can you do video on pictures on darker cups? That’s this easy on the lighter colors cups. Btw your awesome!
You are so good!! Your so thorough, so professional. I’ve watched everyone and no one holds a flame to all the things I’ve mentioned above and your talent. I have not one single thing to do cups but you make me hope and dream!
Summer, can you do this method with a quote or lettering, like a name? I don't have a cricut and I created a quote for my niece. Just wondering if you will be able to tell it wasn't cut out. Hope you understand what I am asking. Thanks.
Will the packing tape yellow under the epoxy over time?? I like this idea if you don't have any more waterslide paper tho. Love watching your videos and I've learned a lot! Thank you for sharing them and being so generous with your talent and your time!
Great video! the gloss gel is sold out on amazon, any other alternatives that i can use please!????????????????????
Your absolutely the best if no one has told you that already 😊😉 ty
Do you take the tape off?
I’ve got a question, the epoxy Tumblr video I first watched shows three times to do epoxy… The first coat is paint and glitter, the second one is a thicker coat, then you scuff it and do vinyl stickers, Then you make a final light coat to seal in the vinyl stickers. Using the medium to put a picture on which coat would you put the picture on, would you put it after the second coat and it’s been sanded
Sorry you completely skipped how to get excess tape off your tumbler....
I tried this tonight and the epoxy isn’t sticking to the tape… it’s made a horrible mess.. what did I do wrong?! Do I need to seal the tape image, before epoxying?
Yikes!!! Amazing!!! Really cool, can’t wait to try this...
I just discovered your channel! I’m so happy I did, love the energy! Thank you for sharing!
Is there a way to put an actual photo, not a water slide or printed on a printer, but one you would put in a photo album type, on a tumbler? I can't find a tutorial anywhere
Also, for the tape one, would it work the same with the transfer tape? Like the cricut brand (so you could do a wider photo)?
I assume if your image has words or something like that, you want to print it backwards in order for it to be the right way once you apply it?
I like that you showed three different techniques. I’ll definitely try. I’ve seen others print on the glossy backing of mailing labels and use a transfer medium. Once dried, they just peel it off instead of rubbing. I’ll see how all that goes.
Hi
Not sure if you answered this but can this be done with say a family photo or personal picture. Would I have to mirror it or something
I’ve got a question, when you put the picture on with the gloss medium have you already painted your cup the base coat or is the picture of something you put on the second coat and then your gloss is the final to seal it in
Hi so in need of help I am having trouble trying to figure out if printer paper would work as easy as it should
I hope you respond. So many have asked questions on here but you don't answer.
Would a pantum lazer printer work for something like this if anyone knows please tell me
The tape method would work well for the bees on your honey cups
Great idea!
Can I use the duct tape trick with a glossy printed photo I ordered from a drug store?
I've used the gloss medium before to transfer printed words on Artist Trading Cards because I have crappy handwriting. Note: make sure you don't use matte medium, it didn't work for me and it made me sad.
Also, ALOT of people that go to try this will ignore the LASER printer bit! I tried to do this on wood about 7 years ago, and screwed up several large "plaques" I had labored over sanding and staining because I ignored that very important thing... and basically just ended up regularly decoupaging it with Mod Podge instead of doing the actual transfer of the design. They still came out, but not the way I wanted. It wasn't until I just saw this tutorial that I realized what my mistake was years ago, because back then, people kept their secrets... they didn't disclose those SUPER IMPORTANT little bits of information. Thank You AGAIN! I can't love these tutorials and this channel enough!
Inkjet will work with the tape transfer.. tho you do have to be alil more careful with the rubbing
Can you use clear acrylic spray paint for the tumbler?
Has anyone tried this on the plastic tumblers?
Would this work with clear contact paper?
If there’s a word on the image for the gloss stuff will it come back backwards? Or does it come off just as you put the image down?
Print picture in reverse...
The gloss med the same thing as pouring med?
Thank u for these idea.
what do u do with the packing tape on the other one
Where do u find these all your pic images
How do I know if my printer is a laser printer
This video was awesome thank you.
Instead of your finger use a mr. clean sponge. TFS
can i use these techniques on metal tumblers?
Love your personality!
This just gave me a GREAT idea for my moms mothers day gift!!! Thank you for this awesome video!
hey summer, have you tried using transfer tape that doesnt have the grids instead of packing tape? I tried on Dollar Tree transfer tape and it worked pretty good.
bethany cissell I use the clear contact paper by duck ... it’s permanent adhesive.. I’ve used it to make signs.. photo transfers.. all sorts of things for a long time and it works amazing
Have you tried to use the clear transfer paper for larger images instead of the packing tape? Seems as though it would work the same.
yUP! filming it already!
Quick question, for the tumbler. What was the layer order? Epoxy, glitter, gel, photo? Or epoxy, glitter, epoxy, gel, photo?
So Summer
I was an Epson Rep for years , my point is I only own Epson Printers! I don’t have a laser printer! So will this technique work with them? If it does what do I seal it with? Or I am better off just buying the ll&r waterslide paper?
I have seen people use this on candles before and it looked amazing
Excellent!, so I have a chiropractors white business card (cardstock) with lime green and off black writing and artwork . I'd like to put it on a black tumbler that will have some lime green waves. Which one of your methods would you recommend? OR do you recommend that I should re-print it on printer paper with my LaserJet printer?
I’m so happy to stumble across this and your channel. My friend just asked me if I could put photos on a tumbler for her. Can I also do this with mod podge?
Mind blown🤯 Wow!! This is amazing!
Was the cup already glittered? Was the image done with the gel medium placed on the epoxy on top of the glitter? You didn't specify.
I have struggled due to not having an inkjet printer for images for tumblers...THANK YOU for sharing this idea. This is the best video for me and others like me.
I did this on sweatshirts for grandparents to show off all their grandkids and great grandkids. We weighted down the pics while drying on the fabric and dried them for 2 days. Then we wet down the back of the pics and pealed and scrubbed off the wet paper. The shirts were washable! We used A LOT of medium for pics on fabric!
Firstly, loved these techniques and secondly, thank you so much for not having annoying music. 😊❤️
Hi! What do you do with the excess tape? Do you cut it off or lay it on to the cup? Thank you!
Mindi Garcia cut off the excess!
I tried the tape and gel medium. They both transferred well but the gel medium leaves a sticky residue 😥. TFS.
Your link leads to a coarse kind of gel. It also says it is not available. I have surfed around and can't find exactly what you show in the video. Can you find it and send me a link?
So I was thinking.... Maybe contact paper to do larger images?
Awesome! I just ran across this tutorial...i can def try this! I wonder if I can try with laminating sheets for a bigger surface...
Your so awesome 😎
THANK YOU!! ❤️
It's called image/photo transfer. I have been doing this to put images on items for years. Tfs!
@@cherylg46 I wasn't putting anyone down I simply stated what the technique is called so that people would know what the terminology is when searching for it. I don't need UA-cam to look better and You'll know undoubtedly when I am being rude.
Michelle's Craft Connection I sincerely apologize to you that I took it the wrong way. I will delete if & pls accept my my apology .
@@cherylg46 No problem.
It's called a kids tattoo for years as well lol....temporary....and then Epoxy!!!!! Does it's magic! Great way to open up our eyes a bit more....thanks for your videos as always✨
? Do you do cup glitter etc. Then epoxy then put photo on then epoxy or spray again?
This was awesome !! Thank you so much for sharing !
Can you try tranfer tape so you can get a bigger image? I would like to see the results. Theres one at walmart and it has no measuring lines to it.
You're channel is absolutely AMAZING! So helpful, so visually peaceful. You're set up is perfect. I've noticed how you've started your channel, and I believe it's the same kind of theory I've come up with... I never knew if it would work, but I can tell by how much time I've spent on your channel in the last 24 hours that it absolutely does work. I'm so excited for your soon to be even LARGER SUCCESS! You ROCK!
You all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Justice Nasir instablaster =)
@Roman Callum I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Roman Callum It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my account!
@Justice Nasir happy to help xD
Is the cup washable?
Anna Dennis once you cover it all with epoxy then yes!! Watch my other tutorials to see that process
Just hand wash cups, no soaking or dishwasher.
Hi I want to order the Basics Gloss Gel Medium the link you have for it doesn’t look the same as what you used on video will it still work the same?
An old fashion image transfer!!! Who knew it would work on tumblers!! I don’t make tumblers but knowing it works is good to know!!
Does this only work with ink jet on paper? Or also magazine pages?
So sorry! Lots of questions over here, new to this! So you can epoxy the cup, then transfer the picture on the cup? How long do you have to let it dry?
And all it is (picture) is printer printed paper? Like everyday used?
How do I print a photo and get it on to a cup. Is there a sticky photo paper ?
I tried water slide paper but it has lines in it.
Hello thanks for the tip, is the glue you use same thing as pouring med?
This is amazing. Love it
Love it! Thank you for all your videos!
Is there any way to paint a portrait of my dog onto a tumbler and then take it to someone to put the clear epoxy on it?
Your tutorials are the best. I have a HORRIBLE memory. So I never remember I’m already following you, but I’m literally blown away every time I randomly stumble upon your tutorials
Polycrylic in the can does the same thing as the medium on wood. Haven't tried it on a tumbler.
Can you put a picture of your children on a tumbler and if you can do you know how?
Hi are all three dishwasher safe after spraying the clear gloss enamel?
How long will the image last ? And is it only hand wash safe or is dish wash okay as well?
omg i love this thank u
I have a question is there anything else to use besides the liquidex basic
For bigger images would transfer tape work?
To put images on with packing tape does it have to be a laser printed image?
My first time watching this I love it Santa Maria California
How you take a pic of kids on put at on a tumbler?
So excited for this one! So many pictures I want to do! Thanks Summer! I ordered the medium. So happy!
Can you do names instead of pictures? 🤨🤔
This question was posed to you about 5months ago with no response. Your response is requested as it helps to know the correct application method. **** Is the cup surface already epoxied??
If so, would that apply if using a ceramic tile also??
Thank you in advance.
It is epoxied but does not need to be.
