Want your mind blown?! Check out this tutorial. We have been doing waterslide and making our lives harder than they should be! This way is so easy! I am not the first to do this but I have never seen it done on a tumbler tutorial so I wanted to share it! I recommend only doing this method if you are covering it with epoxy to make it permanent. I have not tried this with the backing and not sealing method so I am not sure if it works for that.

Its applying just like a temporary tattoo. Did you have to spray the sealant on this?
bethany cissell you seal it only if you use an inkjet printer:) before you put it in the water
@@LittleLeeandRose thank you!! I cant wait to try this way :-)
You are so very welcome! Join my FB group! Play all the games and win cool tumbler stuff!
What did you seal it with? I'm just getting started with water slide so this is awesome! I've seen clear Plastidip, regular clear spray... what do you recommend for this method?
Elaine Richards just clear spray paint! Plasti Dip is too expensive and does the same as clear spray paint
I WATCHED 2 VIDEOS AND HAD TO PRINT AND CUT 7 SUNFLOWERS BEFORE I FOUND YOUR VIDEO. TRIED IT ONCE AND, BAM! WORKED LIKE A CHARM. Yes, I had to type in all caps bc this saved my life lol thank you!
I haven't tried tumblers yet, but have my tumbler handmade by my hubby and getting the last of my materials together. Definitely needed to see this before trying my first tumbler..... thank you!!
I absolutely LOVE your videos! Yours are the BEST and most INFORMATIVE *BY FAR* I've yet to watch. Thank you for being so thorough! I can't wait to start 'Tumbling'!!!! :)
I tried the waterslide for the first time this morning. I did your method and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
You literally saved me endless hours of frustration! I've got almost 20 steel tumblers to make for Christmas!
Wow!!!! SO SIMPLE YET SO IMPRESSIVE!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!! 😍😍😍😍
So excited to try, I have just found you and subscribed and binge watching. Your info is amazing. I have learned so much already; I feel my projects are going to improve immensely!! Thank you
seriously one of the MOST needed videos I have seen on a MONTH! This is like miracle information #LittleLeeandRose ! Thank you so much! Jerri
Ok, I never fall in love with stuff on You tube. I usually just think its " cool". BUT THIS. !!! MY LANTA I LOOOOOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
This is the best little trick ever! Thanks so much 😊
Thanks for sharing this tip. I've had issues with waterslides cracking which has been very frustrating. I'm using an inkjet printer and sealing my slides with clear. I guess the only thing I need to do is reverse my images. I powdercoat all my tumblers and I was using white printable vinyl but the white has a tendency to turn to a light cream color. I will give your method a try this week.
Curious how this worked for you?
Mind blown! Thank you for the FANTASTIC tip! I'm so tired of wasting waterslide!
This video is the best! Save time and lots of wasted waterslide paper😉😊
Love it. I will start doing waterslide. Thanks.
So cool! I want to try a water slide now. Would I epoxy over the decal?
Awesome job and so much simpler
This was great! Question, after you apply the waterslide do you have to put an epoxy over it? What if you want to put it on like a coffee mug, is that doable?
You can put waterslides on coffee mugs the directions are on certain waterslide papers. They say to bake it very low or let sit 3 days. I personally have not tried reversing or mirroring and then using it on a coffee cup you would probably want to make sure it has adhesive on both sides if it wont be under epoxy. Xo
How do you know which one to use? When do you use a white water slide? When do you use clear? What color cups
My mind is completely blown! Thank you for sharing!!!!!! Going to try this tomorrow.
Do I need to sand before applying? Or can this go right onto a layer of resin without sanding?
Are you printing the water slide the exact same way, on the glossy side? Also, are you printing and cutting using your Cricut?
You are a genius!!!! Just getting started and now I will do it the RIGHT way!!!! Thank you!!!!
Do you spray the water slide with a clear sealant after your print it?
Yea I would allow ink to dry first
Wow! Definitely going to try doing this on my next water slide.
So with clear water slide you have to put a white square behind it?
This is awesome. Going to try it. TFS.
I thought waterslides had a glue on the side against the paper and when you remove the paper, the glue is what sticks to the cup? If you reverse them, does the glue cause any issues with the epoxy? Thanks.
Is water slide paper the same as rice paper sold at Staples??
i have watched a couple of your videos and super excited to try this. i have never tried waterslide but your method looks so easy! Just want to be clear , i have HP deskjet , so you have to spray it before placing in water?
Monica Guerrero Yes clear coat spray paint it if it’s inkjet:) Apply the waterslide to the cup (let dry)then epoxy it in!
@@LittleLeeandRose sorry i should have asked this as well. If the image is going to be mirrored how will that work? sorry i think i missed a step . lol
You mirror it because you are placing it down face first
@@LittleLeeandRose yes i understand but do you need to spray it even though you are putting it as a mirror image. or do you spray it only when it is non mirror image?
Monica Guerrero you spray it if you are using inkjet printer always . Inkjet printer ink is not waterproof so the clear spraykeeps the water away from the in
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I followed your tips and it's awesome! I just did my first waterslide tonight and while I have to practice more, you mad it so easy!!!! Thank you!!!
Elaine Richards make sure you seal it up under epoxy!
Definitely !
Do you apply epoxy after you apply your waterslide?
You. Are. My. Hero. 😂. Seriously. I gave up on waterslide after a few tries. Game changer!
Can this method be used with white decal paper? Do I mirror the image and/or text?
What a great tip! Thank you . So when you pull down, just the picture adheres to the cup. What happens to the excess that’s around the picture? Hope the ? makes since.
it's clear so it will pic up whatever is on the cup, you won't be able to see the access once epoxy is on it
This is totally awesome! Bless your heart! ❤️💋
That is soooo pretty!!!!
Thank you!
After applying the waterslide and letting it dry, I have to do another layer of epoxy correct? Do I sand around the waterslide to do another layer? Was told I need to sand between layers of epoxy.
So it's ok right over the glitter?? And then spray sealant before epoxy?
If you’re going to buy the water slide already made how do you know which way they put it?
What about using white water slide paper? Can I still do it this way? I’m doing a solid blue tumbler for my dad, and we don’t want the blue showing through the water slide. I’m having serious issues with the edges curling and folding back on itself when I place it on my tumbler!! It’s extremely frustrating! Now I’m wondering if the water I’m using is too warm?
I need some advice!! I have a inkjet printer and white waterslide paper, how would I make my waterslide come out like this ?
Love all your videos!!!!
Great tip! Thank You! Can I ask where you got the horse image? I love your short, very informative videos!
LoisB google watercolor unicorn and scroll through images to find her!
Crazy! Too simple. Love it!
Just a little FYI....Dollar Tree sells the silicone brushes also. I bought a few jet to have extras...
I was always under the impression there was a type of glue between the waterslide and the carrier. No? Awesome!
Chasing Rainbows I guess there is a debate about this but I have never had an issue. The waterslide company has directions to do it this way so that leads me to think it’s fine
@@LittleLeeandRose I have 2 brands here - Sunnyscopa says to do it the way we have all learned and I have Hayes that says to do it the way you are showing us. I don't have any waterslide to do right now but do you think the Sunnyscopa would work your new way as well? I sure hope so because then I can use the Blinggasm and Hayes paper that I have here that I have hated!
Doug even if it is a paper that only has the adhesive only on one side it still works fine because it does still stick down and then you epoxy over the top and that makes it permanent for sure!
Can I print on waterslide with a deskjet printer? I've noticed everyone uses laser or inkjet, is there a significant difference?
Wow this totally makes sense. There is no sticky side so yeah this is awesome. Thank you so much. I have waisted so much waterslide. Wooohooooo oh u do have a question. Do you still seal it before putting it in water and if so how do yall do yours ?
Sherry Ebersole Yes if you are using an inkjet printer you need to seal it before putting it in the water
Thank you 😊
What waterslide paper do you use?
Thank you so much! Can't wait to try water slide!
Hi there! I've got one question.
When then decal on the plastic tumbler is done, how do you make the plastic tumbler dishwasher and microwave safe with the image permanently on it without the image fading or damaging?
It's important to know because I'm getting ready to turn some of my artwork into coffee cups and tumblers. I need to know so I can make the plastic tumblers both dishwasher and microwave safe. Thanks
Nekoenjeru if you ever use epoxy they will not be able to go into the dishwasher or the microwave
was that a premade picture, or did u print it yourself, if printed yourself and u sealed it, how can u put it on that way
Sweetheart she has a link where she got her waterslide. Wicked shimmer supply, the owner is amazing! You can also buy special waterslide paper for your type of printer and inkjet or laser. And google images if you have a silhouette or cricut you can print them through there. If you dont have one you can still download the silhouette software and edit the images. Its amazing. I have a Facebook group myself and I sell glitter as well as waterslides. They are so fun to play with. But you can totally do it yourself. If you have inkjet you must seal your images. I highly recommend joining little lee and rose Facebook group!! She is amazing!
Sharla Kaye Girl you need to reach out to me! I would love to see your stuff! What is you company name so I can check it out!
Beckie Dunning You can apply it this way on a tumbler because you seal it down under epoxy! Even if the glue is on the wrong side that doesn’t matter under epoxy
I will be using an injet printer. So I know I need to seal before wetting. So if I'm not using apoxy I need to bake it if it's a mug or seal it if it's plastic correct? Thanks for you video.
Do you epoxy the tumbler before applying the waterslide? I know I do after applying the decal.
Nancy Draper yes
Question, Do you still have to spray with sealer before applying? And this is awesome btw!!
Laurie Ballora Yes, if you are using an inkjet printer then you seal before putting it in the water
Thank you!! I was wonder why it wasn’t done like this to start. Glad I came across your video before I actually did my first one
Wow this is definitely a game changer!! your awesome luv your videos
Toni Marie Gagliano thank you! I love making them and helping everyone!
Toni Marie Gagliano join my FB group! We have a lot of fun
LittleLee and Rose I would
Love to join thank you very much!
LittleLee and Rose what is the name of your group?
Andrea Coykendall if you go to the top she list the Facebook link! It’s littlelee and rose tumblers and more
This def worked for my clear water slide but didn’t work for my white one. Thanks!!! Great videos
Belle Cruz no this doesn’t work for white because it is opaque
You ma'am are the bomb!!! Thank you
Do you still have to spray it and seal it first??
Shannon Russell if you use an inkjet printer then yes, you still seal
Before or after you apply it?
Darby Hendley right after you print it before you cut it from the sheet.
SHUT UP!!!!! That is freaking AWESOME!!! Thank you for showing us that!
Do you epoxy after applying the decal as well?
Can you tell me if this will work on the white waterslide?
What brand is this water slide paper and where can it be purchased?
Super helpful! I have a hack of a time trying to get my waterslide just right. Thank you
Can water slide decal be applied to a plastic water bottle ? Can you forgo using epoxy?
Shelli Bruce thank you for responding!!!
Did you print your decal from your computer or cricut?
Thank you. Every time I try to print from cricut, it turns out horrendous.
Do you print using a "word" program or something different?
@@aryllwren228 thank you. That's what I'll do.
This is funny, I always wondered...why not do it this way before, the other way was so difficult. I still haven’t tried it, but I had thought of doing it reverse. I don’t think it will work with white water slide paper though, will it?
Do you have to add epoxy back on or will it forever stay in tacked? Also what if you wanted to put a picture could you do the same method?
Denitra Richardson it will need epoxy to be permanent:) and yes you can print a picture on the waterslide paper and apply it like this or you can watch my tutorial on putting an image on your tumbler not using waterslide paper!
I love your videos, they are so informative. Thank you for this. But, where do you get your decals from?
Suzi I make them! www.wickedshimmersupply.com will be selling the matching decals to my new release tutorials starting today! Use coupon code LITTLELEE for a discount
I’ve never tried using water slide. Do you have to seal before applying to cup? What’s an inject printer?
Michelle Champion there are two types of printers inkjet and laser jet. Laser jet printer ink is waterproof inkjet is not. So if you have an inkjet printer you have to spray clear spray paint over the top before cutting the image from the sheet. This seals in the ink
Wow Thank you showing me this, I've been struggling with the water slides tearing etc.
Eureka! LOL. We HAVE been doing it wrong! Wow. Have you tried sealing it after you get the water slide on then adding glitter accents to it for a 3 D look? I wonder if that will work.
Love this video!! Thanks a bunch! Can you tell me why my decal is cracking after I've sealed it?
thinking it has to be the brand of paper, I have never had this happen
What else can u apply water slide to?
Veronica Ortiz with this method it needs to be sealed on by epoxy but you can appy it the opposite of the way I do it and bake it into all sorts of surfaces. Like mugs plates flowerpots etc
Was this already epoxied when you placed the water slide? Also I saw you mentioned sticker paper. How does it work for clear sticker and have it show the glitter through it? TIA
Isa Tamez yes it was already epoxied and then I epoxied over the unicorn
LittleLee and Rose oh cool!! And does Clear Sticker Paper so the same thing?
What is the best water slide product to use? I’m new to making tumblers and any help would be much appreciated!!
Mind. Blown. You are amazing!
What brand waterslide did you use? Did you use a inkjet or laser printer?
I use inkjet and seal. I bought this participators from wicked shimmer! They have really good quality paper
@@LittleLeeandRosethank you! I cant wait to try this method
OMG! You are brilliant!!
has anyone said i love you today .... game changer....
Great information
Are you meant to epoxy even if you're not using glitter? My waterslide started to peel off from corners and it's killing me. I tried to seal it with clear spray as a finish coat as well as pre slide. It's got a gloss to it but I wonder if that makes it permanent... also do you reckon epoxy should be used on mugs if you have permanent vinyl on it aswell to get a smooth surface. Sorry for all this, but I really need help.
Where did you get your waterside at? I really think they are pretty, do you sell them?
cesia Vasquez This image is on google! Just type in watercolor unicorn and scroll through images until you see it:)
What’s that brush you’re using? I want one cuz I LOVE waterslide!
Semuteh Rogers it is a silicone makeup brush/facial brush. You can find them on amazon or most craft supply FB pages have them!!
Do you seal the waterslides before applying?
Debbie Castonguay
Yes, if you use inkjet then seal. Apply epoxy over the top to make it permanent
@@LittleLeeandRose thank you so much....I can't wait to try this
Brilliant Hack! Thank you for sharing
OMG Thank you! Thank you! I have watched so many video that showed the backing being pulled from the back. When I bought my paper the instructions showed to put it on with the backing on top. I kept looking at the instructions over and over because it didn’t match the videos. I could see that the images were mirrored on the instructions, but there were no instructions on mirroring images with words. Which is very important! I asked another crafter, but didn’t get a response. It’s nice to know I’m not going crazy! ☺️ I’m having issues with my sealer. Do you have any suggestions or brands. I’ve been using Krylon UV protection clear sealer.
Love that tip thank you. Do you have a video on how to glitter a plastic tumbler or would you consider doing one thank you so much.
Sarah Moore I am working on that tutorial now! It may take me a couple weeks to finish filming and editing but subscribe and click the bell so it notifies you
Thank you so much will look forward to that video 🙂
Do have anything showing an easy way to apply white waterslide?
😯😯😯😯Omg... Awesome!!!!
Do you still need to seal it with the clear spray?
Margaret Malia yes you do but only if you are using an inkjet printer.
Love you videos!! Going to try this👍😊
How many coats of clear do u apply to the waterslide
Thanks for sharing!!!!
I get my silicone brushes at DT:)
I was doing this already... thought it was right all along! 🤣🤣
Jennifer Taylor hahaha it’s not really the right or wrong way:) but most tumbler makers are doing it the other way and really struggling
Summer!!! This is the water slide of the horse I have messaged you about😊😊😊😊😊 Is this one of yours? Can I buy it? Or can you tell me where you got her from? Thank you in advance for help?
💜🦋T
She said in another comment that you can find it by googling watercolor unicorn
Cynthia Brown you are the BOMB!💣🧨! I have been trying to get my hands on this water slide 2 months and you helped in one night! Thank you so much! Plus I found some other great water Slides! Thank you again!

What kind of printer do you need to print these?
