I love the movie "Hell Night" it's one of my favorite horror movies of all time! Thanks for doing this review and letting other people know just how good of a horror movie Hell Night really is.
Peter Barton was in Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter as well as the TV series Powers Of Matthew Star & Sunset Beach.
Linda Blair is great in everything she's in! Great review and I'd agree that your wife is quite a talented painter.
Yes she is! Love Linda Blair. And I'll tell my wife you said that brother.
Yes, She definitely is. I do agree.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews i watched hell night a few years ago back when justinTV was up and there was a channel that played nothing but slasher movies and i watched hell night on the channel.
I actually got a chance to see this when it came out at the drive in
Holy shit I am SUPER jealous!
Chris Mayhem me too
Hell Night is one of my favorite horror movies. I saw it as a kid back in the 80's and loved it ever since.
Me 2.......Its a Classic
Yesssss me too, and it's kinda realistic
Same here
that Prom Night movie cover is pretty funny! damn good review as always man!
Haha I know right. Love when DVD covers are cheap like that haha. Thank you!
I’m glad you enjoyed this one. I first watched Hell Night at my Aunts house. She had one of those giant satellite dishes in the 80s and we watched this on HBO.
Great review as always!
I don't even remember this one coming to HBO. So glad I found it though.
Man, that Gabriel dude is hella nice. I can't believe he got you all that stuff. So jealous.
Yeah I can't believe it either man. Was shocked at the generosity!
Drumdums really nice gesture from a fan. Can't beat it. 👍
Yes very cool haunted house movie and Shout Factory did an awesome job now only with the cover but the extras as well. Great review Lee thanks u.
Thanks Shane! I can't wait to watch the extras.
More of a slasher movie with a haunted house vibe.
Hell Night was awesome. I saw it in theaters back when it came out. One of my favorites from 81 next to Halloween 2
For some reason, I have a fascination with Horror movies from 1981! Remember Elvira, Mistress of the Dark?
Hell night is epic until the guy says: lets follow him down the hole. Go peep Grotesque with Linda Blair. Def a 1980s hidden gem.
Indeed!!
Hell Night was originally written to only have one madman killer in the film. The producers later added the idea of two killers so the shocks in the movie could be extended and the finale more climatic.
Wow that was awesome what Gabriel sent you, too cool😁😁😁
Now He'll Night, omg I love that film, such a classic, Linda Blair was sooo gorgeous in it , the killer was amazing and it really did have such a great creepy atmosphere to it, and you nailed it on the music, such an amazing score, really did have that fifties horror film feel to it.
Such a great review👍👍
I had a friend recommend this one to me, I'll have to check this one out. Great video as always bro.
Desmond's Flicks This one is a must see if you are a slasher fan.
man i owned this on vhs when i was kid. seriously a underrated cool cool movie. have always loved it
Me and my brother use to watch this movie a lot when it use to air on tv in the 80s. We watched it so much that we use act out the whole movie with our action figures. 😆
@Jimmy Carter The whole movie lol
Great review!!! I am a new subscriber and have been binging on your videos!!! Keep up the awesome videos..
I was a teenager in the 80's and I really loved all the horror movies of that decade. Terror Train, Hell Night, Prom Night...if it had Linda Blair or Jaimee lee Curtis it had to be good.
It was a great time to be a teen. That's for sure.
this is a truly underrated classic. scared the fuck out of me.
Hell yeah great little haunted house flick!
a shame this got lost in the shuffle. I thought dude at the end would jump up, and didn't start breathing again till the credits rolled.
3:29-3:44 lmao!! And what great gifts from Gabriel.. that Scream Factory edition of The Fog with the slipcover is so hard to come by!!! So awesome of him.
Gabriel is the greatest!
Awesome review man !
Great review. I going to get the blu ray soon. It's actually one slasher title I've never seen before - even when the vhs was staring at me in the video store.
It's definitely worth buying.
Easily, one of my favorite horror movies..starring Linda Blair, Peter Barton, Vincent Van Patten.. . Hell Night, is a classic and its just fun, good time. Highly underrated and just a treat if you haven't seen it, definitely worth a watch. Its shot at the Kimberly Crest mansion in Redlands, California. You couldn't ask for a better Gothic mansion. A creepy but beautiful place. Love the costumes and the score is really good. And it takes place at night..all night and that makes it even better. Enjoy:)
Love this movie immensely Jessica!
;)
Thank you so much for this REVIEW! I love this MOVIE from beginning to end! It has become one of my favorite MOVIES in general! This movie, the Prowler, Terror Train, Intruder, and My Bloody Valentine are my favorite underrated slasher movies! I would love a Intruder review... Lol. I won't stop til I get it. D amn, I wish I could send stuff but I don't have many DVDs of old movies. Because I'm more of like... this generation. I honestly think that was really nice of Gabriel to send that. But I'll be waiting on that Intruder review and I hope you think of me when you do it. lol.
Your wife's paintings are so incredible man. Thanks for the review
Thanks brother! She says thank you so much!
Just got this for the Spooky 2020 season, cannot beat the vintage 80's quality, previously saw Don't Go in the Woods, unsure if you reviewed that one, but if not, ya should. Happy Spooky Season Drums!!
This is an awesome movie. The first time I watched it was 1985 I think...on TV. I actually watched it by accident, and well I watched it all. A few years later I found it on VHS and after that I think it went out of print. When I read this was coming out on Blu-Ray...I HAD to buy it. This is one of my all-time favorite movies.
Oh yeah this will be an annual October watch for sure!
Love your wife's painting Lee! It reminds me of the dark and sinister paintings from Vincent Price's Fall Of the House of Usher! Great Hell Night review!
She says thank you!!
Hell's Night such a classic. The old mansion was so dark and haunting and there were some decent jumpscares that caught me off guard. Highly recommended film
That mansion was horror gold!
Excellent review Lee. I love this film.
Hell Night is my favorite films off all time. I have it in every form multiple copies. I have all the poster us and international. And i even had a poster commissioned from a very talented artist in the U.K. this film has alot of great, great memories for me as a kid. If i had to describe the film in one word, it would magical. That film is lighting in a bottle. Everything in that film just works. From the cast, the atmosphere, the colors. The plot. The gothic tones. Been to the actual house THE KIMBERLY CREST HOME IN PASADENA REDLANDS.
thank you Tom Disimone and Bruce Cohen Curtis for that master piece. Very underrated film. And thank you for reviewing it.
Hey Drumdums, (random question) I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on The Babadook. Tried to find a video of you reviewing it but I can't find a video so I'm assuming you've never reviewed it.
I reviewed it a few years ago. Been meaning to give it another watch. Here's the review: ua-cam.com/video/A2XCjotuz_A/v-deo.html
This was one I'd seen at the rental store but never got to see - just like "The Pit" and "Chopping Mall" (have seen those two in recent years, finally).
I just had a weird premonition about your wife and her paintings when you introduced her latest creation. Now, this would only come from someone like me that have watched a lot of horror movies, he he he.
Wouldn’t it be interesting that the “reason” that your wife is doing all of these paintings is because she is secretly being influenced by some dark, evil demon? The demon really wants YOU, but it is initially using your wife and forcing her to paint horror images because it knows that you love horror movies. That’s its way of pulling you in. Eventually, the paintings change from horror movie characters to different dark images of you in some dark realm. This goes on for months, and FINALLY! She paints the final painting of you morphing into this demon on the night before Halloween. On the night of Halloween, after all the trick-or-treaters have gone home and you’ve gone to bed for the night, that’s when this demon makes its final move. You’re asleep, but awakened by a man calling your name: “Lee!” You jump put of bed, and investigate where this is coming from. “Lee!” Finally, you realised that it’s coming from the painting! You’re looking at the painting 👀 and realised that it is coming alive: morphing, swirling moving....then, it happens-your image in the painting is looking right at you -a huge black hand then reaches OUT from the painting and grabs you-pulling you into the demon’s dark realm--AAAHHHH!!!!!!! Lol!!
This was God-Awful, I know!!! I know. Lol! But, that would be so insane if it were true! That ALL this time since your wife started these paintings, you have been living in your own real-life horror movie. Lol!!
Great review, Lee! I really enjoyed this. PLEASE don’t tell your wife this story-I don’t want her to get offended and come after me! Lol!! 😂😂😂
Haha that's actually a good theory. She just might be RW!!
Hell Night was filmed at Kimberly Crest manor in Redlands, CA. The manor was renovated after the movie was shot and looks really good. Apparently, it's an actual haunted house.
Awesome! I would love to visit there.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Yeah, Redlands is pretty interesting. Lots of old houses, especially in the area of Kimberly Crest. It's surrounded by orange trees and it's about a mile from the main road (off Highland and Prospect). There's a parking lot near the mansion, which I dont think was there in 1980 when they filmed there. Other than that, the surrounding area is about the same.
Thank you for introducing me to this movie. You are a great guy; very positive, nice, and a great horror reviewer
Great review bro, such a classic movie
Thanks brother! My first military station was in Denver btw.
Barely any reviewer of this movie ever mentions there are TWO killers.
I definitely want to check this one out.
I love the music score for this film. Hope they release the score one day soon.
Yeah I love that it had a more 50s vibe to it.
Do you have an external storage drive? I always upload everything off the card onto that into folders labeled "uploaded" & "unedited" so I don't accidentally lose anything. Never delete until I've moved it all 😉
Mother Mayhem My process is that I literally have my laptop right next to me in the same room that I will review. So after review I literally walk right over to my laptop and upload my files. But for that particular recording I literally had to leave directly after. I was kicking myself.
Drumdums that'll teach ya to have a life outside of UA-cam!
I saw this on TV during the early days of cable when I was 12 or something - late at night on a Friday - and it terrified the hell out of me, helping to cement my 100% undying adoration of horror / slasher movies.
I've waited forever for a proper release of this film, and was not disappointed with this version, so good! One of my favorites as a kid, perfect movie to watch on Halloween or late at night...👍🏼
Thank God for Scream Factory, or we might have never seen this come to blu-ray. So glad I discovered it. It will be an annual watch for sure.
I remember when the film was released in theaters, I used cut class just to go to the theater to watch it , I cut class for a whole week. Back then you got to stay in the theater and rewatch the film over and over again. Was there from 10am until 3pm...fun times. I caught thou...
Those posters...awesome * * * *
Oh my god I love Hell Night! Linda Blair is great.
YES YES YES!!
Drumdums Look forward to your Prowler review!
she was ungodly cute in it
Hi man i really enjoyed your review. This movie have special place in my heart because it was one of the oldest movies i have even seen beside Zombie 1979, king kong 1933 and evil dead .i was like 5 years old when i saw Hell night ! I was living in Qatar 🇶🇦 sorry for my English because its not my first language.
So glad this movie has a special place in your heart man. It’s so unique.
Love this movie! And also love haunted houses movies. I recommend you "The cat and the Canary" , "Burnt Offerings", "The Sentinel" and "Suspense" ;)
Thanks for the recommendations!
@Jessica Pazo it was one of the first horror films i saw. it really frightened me.
the tension is was incredible hearing the chauffeur coming.i never hear anyone mention it
Vince Van Patton was married to Betsy Russell (Saw 3-6) and currently married to Eileen Davidson from original house on sorority row.
Interesting.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Vince married two horror hottest. Lol.
Originally released by compass international same company as Halloween 78
Just watched it today. Pretty good 👍
You are one lucky man ! That has been my biggest dream ever since i was 15 is to meet Linda Blair she is absolutely my idol i love her films. My top favorite celebrity in the world. Not only that i look at her as a true Life Saver of animals.
Oh yes Linda B is a huge supporter of animal rights.
The posters are so sick ❤️
I loved this film when I saw it way back in the 80's. Loved the scene when Andrew Garth rose from the trap door underneath the rug.
Check out another great horror from 1981 called "The Burning". Love to see you do a review on that 👍.
Applause for Gabriel Lewis 👏.
I've reviewed The Burning actually. One of my favorite camp slashers!
I do love your wife paintings. I love hell night. It was a great movie and Linda Blair is awesome too.
You know.. I've never seen all of this. I gotta get around to it.
Bro...get on that right now. Loved this one!
Nice video how about reviewing 13th ghosts
I just watched this on Shudder the other day along with Madman.
Are you interested to watch horror movies click here - www.houseofhorrors.com/hell-night-1981.html
Just watched the movie. For its time I thought it was outstanding. Thanks again Lee for the review!
Oh yeah Hell Night is a classic!
Yo Lee! This just in! There is a petition going around that you can sign online. Fans of Nightmare On Elm St are trying desperately to recruite none other than my boy, BILL MOSELEY to play the new Freddie Kruger! I'm all about it ! Peace.
Sweet!
I enjoyed this nice horror flick.
Oh it’s a classic straight up.
Another great review for one of my favorite horror films Lee! Halloween Resurrection doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Hell Night though ....
Hell no!!! I have regrets that I mentioned it!
04:49
🤣 Nice observation 😭
Haha thanks!
I also have the scream factory edition of Hell Night couldn't agree more about Linda Blair in this she's great!!!
So glad I finally got around to seeing her in this.
Drumdums Can't Wait for your review on The Prowler i loved it!
Me too!
I saw that at the drive in with Humongous on Halloween night 1981 both of them are fabulous
So jealous!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews lol 😂 sorry
UA-cams best reviewer!
Thank you!
Linda Blair looked great in this movie.
The outside of Garth Manor was shot at a mansion in Redlands, California. (The Kimberly Crest mansion was converted from a private residence to a museum shortly after filming was completed.) Storie is that it's really Haunted and there's a park right next to the property that's called prospect park Google the stories very interesting love my city.
Interesting! I love visiting movie sets.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews i recommend it👍
Just some trivia, the shirtless guy is Vince Van Patten, son of the legendary Dick Van Patten. 😊👍🏽
Interesting!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews haha yep! He was also in Rock N Roll high school with none other than....(Drumdumsroll)...... PJ Soles! 😂
It's Great!
You know I would like to see a list of old movies I would like to see remade, like THEY LIVE- CHOPPING MALL - KILLER KLOWNS FRIM OUTERSPACE- SHOCKER- WAXWORK.
I don't think they should ever remake They Live.
It drives me nuts when I can remember a movie I saw when I was younger but can't remember the dame title, like there was a movie where two college students I think take there dates to an abandoned house and I believe this old witch demon or ghost starts killing them off but still can't remember the name of the movie ugh!
Oh that sounds interesting!
the background music for this video sounds like the incredible hulk when he’s walking away
ICK CREAM It’s actually from Hell Night.
Drumdums wow they sound similar
Hi, I'd like to see what you think of an After Dark Movie. From within 2008. It has a solid opening, and ending scene.
Interesting. I'll look into that one.
I have to be honest....when this film came out, I was 13 and I watched this, hoping Linda would do a topless scene😅
Turns out she didn't. But it is a good, fun Horror film.
I am a huge Linda Blair fan and got to meet her afterwards ago, get a picture, and sit in on her Exorcist Q and A
I believe your wish will be answered in Savage Streets.
True.
For me she is her most beautiful in Roller Boogie and Hell Night.
Huh I definitely check it out on DVD.. I love great classic horror..
This is the definition of a classic.
There are 2 killers in this movie I have no idea why but theoretically there’s 2 of them.. Seth kills one of them
USDA Choice beef brisket smoked for 16+ hours, cheddar, mayo, Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce. Boom!
Why the fuck do you always have to one up me?
Why the fuck did every post 2008 Subway sandwich that I've had suck ass? Why the fuck has every Firehouse Subs sandwich that I've had fail to disappoint? I'd say you earned the one upping.
Great review. I really liked this movie. The suspense was good, the build up was fun and the setting really works for a slasher movie. Another good Linda Blair horror movie, she is a bit underrated. She was also in a Wes Craven movie called ''Stranger in our House'' Some people know it as ''Summer of fear'' But that movie is very good to. The Exorcist needs no explanation haahaa, that is a masterpiece.
shane slikker I can’t believe it took me so long to finally watch this. Loved every minute of it!
Who was the second killer in hell night? I know one was Andrew
Can't remember haha.
“Andrew manor” 😂
My bad.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews no problem
This was a fun little movie- and I dug the gothic look of the old mansion!!!! This movie is actually kind of a miracle- that it even got a blu ray release! Ahhhh!!!
King Of Arthur No doubt. And you can tell that the print has some damage to it. Luckily they will were able to restore what they could.
Drumdums I'm just glad they released the best possible version- I remember before this blu I was searching for the DVD- it was craaazy expensive and impossible to find!
Awesome reveiw, this is one of my all time favourite slashers and scandelously underrated. And i actually thougb your wifes painting was the ba goul, its pretty awesome
It's kind of a female bagoul, but it could go either way really haha.
Thank you for doing this review! I completely forgot it exists. I got it on VHS. Gonna have to fix the VCR now and dig through some boxes. BTW Prom Night and Terror Train are awesome. Terror Train is slightly better IMO.
Yeah I've reviewed Terror Train. Pretty fun little slasher. Can't believe you have Hell Night on VHS!!
I had a great rental store when I was a kid that had pretty much every horror movie you could think of. When they switched from VHS to DVD they sold all there VHS's for cheap and I pretty much bought most of the horror movies I could get. I have a pretty good collection of horror VHS's.
Ok I just finished watching it. Who was the other killer? Seth kills one then Linda kills one at the end.
The killers are Raymond and Andrew.
Can you do happy hell night 1992 ?
Lee, if I could, you know I’d be sending you a bunch of horror gems because I’m a horror (especially slasher) fanatic! Anyway, I was going to ask if you plan on reviewing I Still Know What You Did Last Summer!
Scare Scale Yes I’m definitely planning on that one.
I enjoyed this movie too the only snag for me was the runtime they could have condensed it slightly but no complaints otherwise good review as always.
I didn't have a problem with the runtime. Adore the score though.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Agree on the score, maybe I was expecting a few more kills in the runtime I dunno maybe I expect too much sometimes
this movie sorta reminds me of the slayer, i always get these two mixed up for some reason
Love hell night
Classic!
Did you know that the director of this movie used to direct gay porn?! Crazy! His brother is the pervert paramedic in Friday the 13th part 5
Damn! Deborah V told me a LOT of directors back then got their start in porn.
God Linda Blair is 😍
You hated Resurrection, but had Linda Blair sign Exorcist 2???
That's the only Exorcist VHS I had, so why not.
great movie and a great review. now go check out the beast within.
Will do.
Or the Zombie movies of george a. Romero
Now do THE EVIL DEAD
All these 80’s guys and their thick luxurious hair...
HAHAHA
alejandromolinac Peter Barton went on to have a long career in Soap Operas, aftet a pit stop in Friday the 13th part 4.
Awesome review! Not enough love for Vince Van Patten.
Just posted my review very underwhelming for me
Oh man sorry you didn't like it that much Matt. I adore this one haha. But I'm a massive Linda Blair fan. And the score is great.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews yea I know you love some linda Blair, im a gore hound so I think it needed that for me to love it
