I was raised on the comic genius of George Carlin and in turn, raised my Daughter with the same comic influence and taught her of the legend of "Uncle George". Got to meet the Man twice at shows in San Diego at "Humphreys By The Bay". Super cool dude. I watched as others stepped up to greet him and of course, they all had to say some humorous line that George wrote. I realized how ridiculous it was to do such a thing so I just shook his hand and said, "Hello Mr. Carlin. It's absolute honor to meet you." After a short 4 to 5 minute conversation, he ended with, "Don't ever lose your sense of humor." Words to live by. I have made it my life's goal to be Carlin's ghost and to carry that with me throughout my life in the hope of keeping his memory alive and to distribute his thoughts and ideas as I go along. @Raspian Kiado Socrate’s society publicly executed him for “poisoning the minds” of the youth. The ideal society that he envisioned, as depicted in the book The Republic, was very different to the Athenian government that put him in a hemlock.
Beautiful. This is EXACTLY why I use Adblock, listen to an mp3 player in the vehicle, and flip the channels on TV. I am so SICK of commercialism. God Bless George Carlin.
George left us over 14 years ago. As of today there isn’t anyone close to his observations. All comics have a space in their careers where things come together. George had his low points as well. But when he got it right no comedian has been close. The majority of George’s work didn’t insult us. He did do some pathetic fart jokes. It also seems some comedians have two acts to choose from. People seem to laugh more and easier when you have alcohol in you. This is the reason that many shows enforce a two drink minimum. COME BACK TO THE STAGE GEORGE, WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THEN EVER!
No wonder they killed him. Why anyone votes in the USA or the UK is beyond me, as all politicians are vile, corrupt, deviate scumbags. BUT the general population have a room temperature IQ, so they get away with it. Checkmate.
Ivor Biggun You might just be right my friend, in the world of today there are so many overfunded bullshit intelligence agencies protecting our "freedoms" one loses the fucking count!
Well common sense is a mistake in itself since if it was common everyone would have it so I guess we should just call it sense from now on and common sense should just be another phrase for bullshit
I really like this comment. My take on common sense is that it was common sense a long time ago when there was still some critical thinking in the world. Example, there was a time when people didn't need to be told it was a bad idea to try and take a selfie while trying to teabag a great white shark or piss on an electric fence while doused in petrol. In the time we live in the uncommon sense is where you want to be because then at least you have any kind of remnant of sense as opposed to none at all
When he puts it that way... the "almighty" kinda sorta sounds a little bit like a mean drunk of a deadbeat dad with a gambling problem... doesn't he? ^^
They disliked him because he hit them with the truth. Made everyone look at themselves in a mirror and realize what fools they were. So many of them had that blood he mentioned dripping out of their asses
I never knew that anyone thought he was crazy. I met him during the filming of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Nothing crazy that I detected. Extremely intelligent.
I've followed GC since he became known on the comedy scene. No one ever referred to him as crazy. Most people agreed that he was ahead of the times. The material that George started with became quite commonplace in the world of comedy after George got the ball rolling.
I’ve watched this over and over again. It feels fresh and relevant in 2022 and only further confirms his unique type of genius. I’m in awe of his brilliance ✨
He was a 'profit' of modern times! I really wish George was still with us. The way things have gone these days...I wish I could hear his take on things currently!
Citizen of the Republic marketing is simply the principle of getting your product known and convincing people to buy it. If you product *will* make people's lives better, or make them feel good, what is unethical is to *not* market it. Just like a shovel, you can use it to kill or you can use it to build. What matters is what you do with it (just so happens most use it to sell bullshit rather than make you happy) If doctors and scientists were bad salesmen no one would ever get healed.
It wasn't until the last 15 to 20 yrs of his life until people started to listen and respect the honesty of his message. What a genius of comedy, thank you George ❤
eeeeh. he was a bitter jaded man with a lot of frustrations related to how heart renchingly soul rending the world was turning toxic. At least in his view. Unfortunatly comedy stages were one of the few veniews left him. It was comedy in the in the court joker sense. the person who knows the only safeway for him to say what he needs, is as comedias, to illuminate. Not reely thinking mans stand up, or stand up at all. a very frustrated recovering addict having to stay busy is more like it.

Only certain people trust the government. But there's a group of us that knows they are a bunch of bs but they use their power against black people so white people live them for that not knowing that the government is against them too. But they like seeing the government do what they are doing so they keep their eyes and mouths closed. This country is going down in a hurry and guess who will be the blame for it???

I needed my weekly fix of Carlin...I can only imagine what his material would be like if he could see the shitshow the world is in now!...
p40 tomahawk would love to see him skewer “ethical billionaires”

ASeasonedWitch all of his truths still apply.
Especially right now
He was a gormet comic
He really was a genius. RIP George
Rest in Peace...I think he would find that hilarious.
KerayZ he was a disgrace, he should have weighed his words, he is way out of line, but he probably was never taught how to talk about something you don’t agree on with class.
I swear George Carlin could see the future.
Everything he Has Ever joked about as far as government and people are spot on !!
Socrates said that the three things necessary for a healthy society were Purpose, Entertainment, and Contemplation. Carlin embodied all three.
Mmmm 2 of those...onstage he was very intense. He did settle down by the time he was on comedy central as a regular host, and (seemed to) love his time as Rufus.
Purpose?
@@JDG-hq8gy to wake people up and make them question all the bullshit that they are programmed to just go with
@Raspian Kiado Socrate’s society publicly executed him for “poisoning the minds” of the youth. The ideal society that he envisioned, as depicted in the book The Republic, was very different to the Athenian government that put him in a hemlock.
@@JDG-hq8gy I thought Plato wrote The Republic?
I miss him so much. He said all there was to say. Pure genius.
Beautiful. This is EXACTLY why I use Adblock, listen to an mp3 player in the vehicle, and flip the channels on TV. I am so SICK of commercialism.
God Bless George Carlin.
To my Google family: WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE.
Yeah because having a car isnt commercialism.
@@koolkitties8552 Yikes! A car!
''What do you call a female peacock?..............a peacunt'' ~ George Carlin
Probably the most intelligent American I have ever seen.
Brilliant! :-)
Interesting. PS I reckon Mossad is behind the Paris shootings.
You can always tell when a politician is lying. Their lips move.
He's all powerful and wise, just can't handle money :)
He loves you and he NEEDS MONEY!!!
Yup. The struggle is real. So am I
The struggle is real

Dude was a Genius no doubt. his ability to dissect serious real issues to their bare core is extraordinary
Is he not alive ?
@@shantie66 um, no dear, the great George Carlin has since passed. He is now torturing the god he so loved to clown.
You mean common sense?
Well common sense is a mistake in itself since if it was common everyone would have it so I guess we should just call it sense from now on and common sense should just be another phrase for bullshit
I really like this comment. My take on common sense is that it was common sense a long time ago when there was still some critical thinking in the world. Example, there was a time when people didn't need to be told it was a bad idea to try and take a selfie while trying to teabag a great white shark or piss on an electric fence while doused in petrol. In the time we live in the uncommon sense is where you want to be because then at least you have any kind of remnant of sense as opposed to none at all
I am a Brit. Never heard of George but he is brilliant! His religion bit was just pure quality, every theology student should listen to it
"But he loves you. He loves you... and he needs money! He's all knowing, all powerful, just not great with money."
True
When he puts it that way... the "almighty" kinda sorta sounds a little bit like a mean drunk of a deadbeat dad with a gambling problem... doesn't he? ^^

It's sad some people thought he was crazy. He just knew how to communicate so much of our problems without wasting time.. genius rip
They didn’t think he was crazy. They didn’t want to hear the truth.
Who thought he was crazy? I never heard that, and I’ve been a fan since I attended his live show as a kid in the early 80s.
I've followed GC since he became known on the comedy scene. No one ever referred to him as crazy. Most people agreed that he was ahead of the times. The material that George started with became quite commonplace in the world of comedy after George got the ball rolling.
“But he loves you” the comedic timing is so poetic
This should be mandatory material on every school, I would love to see how the advertising industry reacts.
Jon theGreat according to Bill Hicks, they should kill themselves lol

George Carlin has no equal. I love Richard Pryor. Not apples to apples, but Carlin is the king.
Quite possibly the greatest social commentator of all time. RIP George, you are immortal.
2022 and everything he says is STILL true.

This is advertising not marketing ..
Marketing is a bigger more important, useful word.. If you are. Studying marketing you would know what I mean.
Same shit, different scale.
Citizen of the Republic haha
Citizen of the Republic marketing is simply the principle of getting your product known and convincing people to buy it.
If you product *will* make people's lives better, or make them feel good, what is unethical is to *not* market it.
Just like a shovel, you can use it to kill or you can use it to build. What matters is what you do with it

It’s gotta take a lot of skill to be able to do a whole show without forgetting any lines. I don’t think he ever messed up on any of his shows.
He just says what’s in his mind
he has a couple slips in his shows between 86 and 90. The only reason i say it is because how strange it is to hear him slip, it stands out
He rehearsed and replayed these a thousand times. He was a professional and took his job very seriously.
Both of his parents were very gifted funny people. Both in advertisement, too. (How ironic lol) people in advertisement remember those lines well
@@RobBahouPictures yeah, I noticed this- it does really stand out lol

George Carlin, the thinking man's comedian
Or the laughing man's philosopher.
Both
eeeeh. he was a bitter jaded man with a lot of frustrations related to how heart renchingly soul rending the world was turning toxic.
