George Carlin did make me laugh and chuckle but he was never one of those people who made me roar with laughter. I'll always love George Carlin. He was the funniest, most right on comic in the early 70s during the height of the counterculture. He was brilliant & poignant & painfully truthful. He made us laugh at ourselves. I miss him terribly.

I am so lucky to have been able to seen George during his later career. The man was an epic and unrelenting genius. The writing of his specials was and is second to none.

Thats kind of silly because most sex crimes dont happen in religious circles. Many times the sex offenses are from the people who are closest to you, not someone who was already busted for something. Its normally a brother, a dad, a uncle , a grandfather, your best friend or neighbor.. those are the people to be weary of..

George Carlin did make me laugh and chuckle but he was never one of those people who made me roar with laughter. Instead, most of the time, I'd be listening to him very carefully and then nodding my head in agreement. He always came across to me not as a comedian, but as a philosopher - kind of like a reincarnation of Plato or something.

Under rated? I disagree-any serious critic of people like him put him on Mt. Rushmore-he was a social/cultural critic using stand up as his delivery mechanism-saw a special about him recently and all the comedians without exception rated George as the greatest ever

I'd be lying if I said I laughed a lot during that bit, but that was easily the most entertaining, impressive stretch I've seen from any comedian. And that's what makes Carlin one of the very best to ever do it.
