Great video ! I run the TC Electronic CInders ( Blues Drive Based ) in front of the MojoMojo into a clean Marshall amp, it's an awesome tone for not much money and great results
Nice tones, in the last couple years he has moved a JHS Pg-14 into the pedal chain. It is so huge, especially when he puts that MojoMojo in front of it.
Exactly as I’m using it, driving it with an AC Booster. I even used my SL Drive to goose the MojoMojo (i had it backwards before: mojo into sl drive, no good) and oh man it sounds glorious!
He"s using the signature Paul Gilbert mojomojo ovrdrive now with the 11 switch. Has a fatter sound Have to add some reverb and delay in front of it, and you're golden!
I subscribed right away! This video was so fun to watch because it was brimming with genuine enthusiasm. Keep up the good work! I am off to explore the videos on your channel.
Currently I'm running a DOD 280 optical compressor into a (gold) DOD 250 overdrive (set like the MojoMojo here) into my class A tube amp VHT Special 6 Ultra combo w/EL34 (ultra input) set for clean with slight breakup. I also have a DOD BiFET boost - should I use that instead of a compressor in front of the overdrive pedal? I'm sort of using the optical compressor like a slight pre-boost to thicken things up with sustain. A dyna type compressor doesn't sound as good. This setup has less noise and smoother sounding.
I saw that. As an owner of the original MojoMojo, I just wonder if the PG version worth it or if it's just marketing. It's 50% more expensive, and it's hard to believe the reason is other than his name on it. I'm saying that with all my love and respect for Mr. Gilbert, and as a TC Electronic lover.... but damn... Am I the only one?
@@RuCatania reading the blerb on the TC website it looks like its just more gain and a little more dynamic range. I find it goes flubby and fuzzy when the drive is cranked. Maybe the extra headroom helps with this. Either way. If you use it as an always on pedal you would never crank it anyway. Youbwould use, as PG does. Another pedal in front.
"Here's my clean tone..." Proceeds to play and it's ALREADY breaking up and FIRMLY into what I'D call "Overdrive"... How come NO ONE's "clean" tone is ACTUALLY CLEAN?!? ESPECIALLY on THIS VIDEO, where he actually mentions in the begining that Paul Gilbert uses a "really clean" amp... If your signal is ALREADY breaking up on your "clean" tone, we're hearing what your AMP sounds like, NOT what the PEDAL sounds like... Plug your guitar into a Fender Twin or a Roland JC and keep the damned gain BELOW 5... THAT is a CLEAN tone, and it will show us EXACTLY what that circuit that you're demoing DOES, lol... I mean, hell, if I had a super nice expensive amp, I'm sure I'd want to show it off too, but don't do it on your "pedal demos"... Also, just a tip, but Paul Gilbert says that that BASS knob is where "the magic is in THIS pedal" and he usually keeps his around 8 o'clock, his treble at noon, his volume matched to his amp (usually around noon for unity level) and the drive up around 8 o'clock... Hope some of this helps, hoss... but thank you for the demo...
Yea thats how Mr Gilbert uses it but its good in most things. If your amp flubs out on the low notes running the gain high may make that worse but its still works as a nice boost with good tone control or use it like you would an overdrive.
I'm not being funny but I've been doing original stuff on guitar since I was 10 and I'm 54 now still play every day all day when I can I never wanted to sound like any one else I took one lesson in my life from the guitarist who invented guitar hero he was in band called tribe at the time the teacher said who do you want to sound like I said me I want to sound like me I got so much music in my head and I want to deliver it to this day i don't under stand why people want to sound like someone else there not its like wearing another guys name on your sports shirt in high school your girlfriends did that not your mates the main goal here should not to be find something every one copy's to leave your mark yet to find something nobody's seen or herd and copies from you your own sound I do this with sound caps and bleed kits in guitars and pedals my own setups i call them and of course my own style of playing its me all me and proud to be that for me
Just what I needed! Great yet simple explanation. Thank you!
thanks for the tips! i was having some difficulty with it. This really helped a lot!!
Thanks for doing this video what an underrated pedal so cheap and sounds so great like a real tube amp
Glad you like it!
Tubescreamer -> Mojomojo = Amazing. That tubescreamer just tightens up that low end and you can get so much gain!
Awesome video, thanks for covering how Mr gilbert sets up this really cool pedal
Thank you.

Thanks for the lesson.

Thank you Mark. Much appreciated. I best go and make some more! 😊
So the Tube Screamer comes after the MojoMojo in the chain?
It can do but in this case it is before.
Great info. Yes indeed gain staging is the way to go.
Cheers man!
Did you put the tube screamer after or before the mojo? Great video by the way
Appears he said he puts TS in front of the MM.
Thank you for your help
And Special for him,
Signatur Mojo Mojo .
He Can Go, to 11 !!!

Hiii, can i use mojomojo boosting an distortion like RAT ?
Yea sure. Give it a go!
Great vid. Thx!
Ever try a tumnus or klon clone in front?
No but a Rat or Bad monkey can work well too.
@@leonbrownmusic I just saw a bad monkey at a pawn shop near my house! I’m gonna go buy it!
@@Imokyourok440 You wont regret it man!
Saved :) thank you friend, you are legend ...
😂🤣 Cheers man!
Isn't "mojomojo" one of those things you just get super tired of saying again and again. 😂 Thanks for the informative video!
It absolutely is lol!
So the guitar hits the ts then the mojo, dont have a ts but ill have to try the sd1
Yea MojoMojo last and add your other drives in front of it.
@@leonbrownmusic I’ve been using this for years with a dark matter TC electronics in front of it
Paul habe a New Mojo Mojo
Pedal ……
Yes ☝️😱. it‘s Purple 🤘
Now you can get a PG signature version of the pedal.
Cool!

But your amp is a Marshall, this pedal is good for this amp

Yea. In my opinion it works well in the Marshall. Works greaat in my Boogie and tried it in a Fender Hotrod and it was great in that too.

Hey. He ia a handsome guy! 🤣😂🤣😂
Run an SD-1 into the Mojo. You won't be disappointed.
I also run like this with the signature edition Mojomojo. Sounds great
