Kiesel Started life as a Pickup company but strangely their pickups don't get much love on the Internet. Is that justified? Is it just because they are not "Big Name" brands or is there more to it? waza ds1 is worth the money x 2.
i'm not rich enough to but stuff like these cheap garbage..
This has been holding me back for over a year. Thanks for the great explanation!
Can confirm this is an awesome way to get the most out of your TONEX
Great Video, great information to help me make my purchase decision so Thank you! would like to know if I can grab that backing track at the start please?
@@Clive007 sorry man I didn't keep it but there are loads on UA-cam.
I had to put a thin layer of silver solder on the ends of my B and high-E strings where the string wraps around itself several times near the ball because when I would bend the B and high-E strings they would get out of tune, I'd tune them up, and eventually the string was so long I couldn't tune it up anymore and had to replace the string. Years ago that happened to me when I owned a Steinberger GL2T and GL7TA. I bought the GHS double ball end guitar strings at JustStrings because they are lower in price. JustStrings told me they won't be stocking the GHS strings anymore and that their website will eventually be closing down once they sell all their strings.
Ive bought one from china but not used it yet, now i know its a mangled delay pedal i won't be shocked.
Billy Joel said it best, 20 something Billy Joel wasn't writing songs for old Billy Joel to sing.
BEWARE: The bridge posts are made of weak material and bend forwards over A COUPLE OF YEARS.
U shoulda got a strandberg iif u want a headless, the kiesel is the same thing as a regular guitar without a head. The strandberg is designed to be a headless, they are also way more ergonomic with how the body is shaoed enabeling you to play it in 6 different positions. I love playing mine on classical on the right leg
Very informative and easy to understand. Keep it up. Good info sharing. Appreciate it so much Sir.
@@yusrock thank you!
I've been trying for a few days to combine my HX Stomp XL with my ToneX One via the FX loop. The problem is that I can't hear any effects that come after the FX loop, like delay, for example. I've already tried different cables, both mono and stereo, different effects, etc., but somehow it doesn't work. Could you help me with this?
@@D.G522 if you have the Tonex set up in the loop properly you should be hearing the signal from the master outs on the hx. If it's not working there would be no signal. Anything between the FX return and master outs should work as normal.
Maybe he signed a deal with the devil, and the deal ended
Oh yes I fucking hate that on my HX stomp, it has happened to me a couple of times on practice, thank god not on live, but its bound to happen
"I can hear the difference...and you can't. Therefore, I am clearly better than you."
The measure of tone is the amount of money you paid for the guitar. The more it costs, the better the tone.
/sarcasm...if you couldn't tell.
Exactly! And did you know the currency you use to pay for the guitar makes a difference too. If you want that genuine British sound you need to pay for all of your gear in Pounds!
clickbait bulls**t
That's good to hear. They really stepped up their customer support service lately.
Thanks for sharing your facts and experiences and for committing to being rational in your presentation of them. I've used Carvin guitars and basses since the 80s and recently ordered a custom from them. I had a great experience building it with lots of good advice and guidance from them. All my questions about the tech specs, options, and interaction effects were well-answered by knowledgable people. The guitar itself looks and sounds amazing, exactly as I designed it, and it's built extremely well. I have other custom shop guitars, some much more expensive than this one, and this one is better than most of them in build, sound, and playability. It's currently my favorite guitar. Anyway, not to trivialize what happened to you but just wanted to share. I wonder if the long shipping route had an especially bad effect on yours. I hope all worked out with this one for you! I'll watch your later videos now and find out! Cheers from California.
Buy an old Carvin better quility for your money
@@msean100 sounds like you have a lot of experience with the brand. Have you had problems with some of their guitars?
Made from US asshole guitar cheap 50 dollar guitar with big name and cheap builds. Chinese is better.
I did rather buy a 200$ amazom or temu guitar
Kiesel guitars quility sucks so does Jeff.they turned Carvin in to crap
Thanks! Helped me with midi implementation
Omg you just opened up a whole new world of shredding though my favorite tonality!!! Thank you so much for this lesson on connecting these shapes! 👌🏻👍🏻🤟🏻
It is a chinese piece of crap. Gibson has nothing to do with it. I am a luthier and took the thing apart. You are going to find out that the zink alloy (not steel) bridge is creeping up to the body because the posts who hold the bridge are even softer and going to bend.. cheers.
It seems they have changed from how they used to treat their customers quite a few years back. Glad to hear they are looking after their customers now.
Very intersting Thanks for the vídeo. Do you think its possible tô conect the tonex one into the chocolate ditectly without passing Through a Cell phone and midi chief ?
No you cant do that. The Tonex one itself does not support general midi
Amazing instructor, you break it down cristal clearly ! keep it up !
Thank you!!! So informative…
Definitely too radical! 😂 Modelers are at their best as a fully self contained unit. One and done. Once you start sacrificing all that I/O and processing power in place of size, you’ll end up having to supplement it with extra gear, which defeats the purpose in the first place and you end up spending the same money you would’ve anyways, and now you have more cables and more junk to keep up with. Plus you gotta get a pedal board to put it all on, pedal power, a gig bag, etc. It’s real short-sighted approach. You can do any gig with nothing but the full Helix direct-to-board and never feel like you’re missing something. If you’re in a blues band and all you do is a simple amp/cab thing, these stripped down modelers make more sense. But if you’re in a rock band, where you have to have different sounds and need processing power, nothing but the big dogs will do the job. You gotta go all-in. And losing the screen for iPad control? No thanks! We already have the pc editors. At a gig, I wanna see what patch I’m on and all that. I’ve seen gigs with iPads on stages, usually those bands aren’t the best performers, to say the least.
How many of the guys here arguing that tonewood makes no difference have heard or own more than 1 electric guitar are making an assessment and an opinion on this topic? I mean honestly!!! To believe in being for or against the tonewood argument? You can't come to that conclusion by watching some guys demo on youtube. How many of you here have actually messed with an electric guitar and swapped out pickups, hardware, etc? How many of you here can hear the differences in guitar string brands? I've read people making comments that Daddario, Ernie Ball, GHS all sound the same 😂. Are these the same guys arguing about tonewood and have never actually gone down the rabbit hole of what makes an electric guitar tone???
Just because an electric is not an acoustic (obviously)! Does not mean that the solid body doesn't have acoustic properties. Electric guitars have acoustic properties and the wood affects the tone. Talk until you're blue about Faraday's laws. If you have a working brain and no hearing damage? You can hear this. Take an electric guitar and use the same strings that you always do. Pure nickel, nickel plated steel, whatever they may be. Make a recording through your facorite amp. Then change your guitars hardware from say? Pot metal or zinc to aluminum, add steel studs and anchors (I'm talking Gibson here). Record the guitar after the changes. Does it sound the same??? Absolutely not! Now take your LP pickup's and swap them into another LP. All other hardware, strings, amp, amp settings, etc. left the same. According to this argument it should sound 100% identical due to the what only matters. The pickups and strings. Does it? No! Been there and done it between 2 Les Pauls and the same pickups. Wood is the source but its the totality of everything coming together that makes the sound. Wood, nut and bridge materials, hardware, pickups, and strings. If you don't hear it? You are not listening hard enough because wood 100% makes a difference. How many old school guitar players in the 60's used Marshall's and Les Paul's. Duane Allman, Jimmy Page, Clapton, Peter Green, Dickey Betts, etc. Those old Les Pauls sound very different from each other. And a lot of those guys used the same amps and strings. Clapton and Duane both used Fender Rock n Roll strings. Hendrix gauge 10-38. They sound nothing alike.
Hahahahahaha I love how you make fun of that name 😂
I've never liked the Taylor sound. They play fantastic tho and seem to have excellent QC.
you must be joking: ua-cam.com/video/-fgWmI8p_sY/v-deo.htmlsi=FknTVT5MMowd6YcZ
You're a brave man, living outside the US and ordering a guitar from a compaby with such famously bad customer service and QC.
Hi! Two things you must do with this Spirit is replacing that worthless pickups and add a thrust bearings under the tuners. Also you can add a grease to everywhere in this trem. I think it can stay your main guitar for a long time.
Where do you find the correct size thrust bearings?
I had an original ce-1 fantastic sounding pedal.Great demo here,Best on UA-cam
I might be the only acoustic guitar player alive that prefers the ES1...
nice
The link at the end of the video went to something else. Can you put the link you intended in the comments or description? Thanks.
Odd. I have added a couple other Chocolate Tonex vids in the description.
Practising
amazing tone!
Thanks for this video. I learn something with each one you make! I have a frustrating issue with the Chocolate/Tonex in that they aren’t communicating via TRS. I’ve wired the cable as type A (then tried type B), but no luck. Is there something I’m missing when programming Cube Suite that isn’t saving the commands to the Chocolate pedal? Maybe software or firmware? Meanwhile I got an Ampero controller, which is working fine. Ultimately, I’d like to run both. Anyway, any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
@@leewarren I messed about making cables and struggled too. In the end I just bit the bullet and bought the Boss one. But try the cable into a different device to make sure it isn't that.
@ Thanks Leon, I’ll try that. I liked the tip about putting Tuner and Tap Tempo on the same switch. Brilliant! p.s. where in the North are you from? I was born in London, but Mum and Dad were from Sunderland.
Happy days! It turns out my diy cables work fine. I messed up the programming of the Chocolate, making me a midiot. Doing much better now!
Great video, you're the best
Capture not available anymore. Does anyone have a copy of the capture to share?
@@steveliberty I think I need to do a Mkii of this video!
They all sound great. The Kiesel pickups are just fine. My personal preference is the Tone Zone, but then again, I've been using them for thirty-four years.
Hi Leon, another really useful, well-produced video mate, many thanks. Got any videos on midi for ex-drummers who are getting on in years? 😂 I’m about to try and use the Chocolate to replace a missing 4-way foot switch for a Blackstar combo which does have midi in so I’ll no doubt be back and forwards between it and your video 🤞
@@southsidejohnny5624 cheers man. Don't know much about the black star but if it's Midi pc it should be fine.
Great video! Very explanatory!
