Thanks a TON for this! Saved me a bunch of cash, and eliminated a very annoying message on our 2005 MDX. Really appreciate your advice and walk-through! Thanks!
I have tried many 'fixes' for this issue and the SRS light on my 2005 TSX, this is the first scanner and fix that actually resolved my issues. HUGE thanks!!
Thank you for your vid. I was so lost without it. I finally was able to get the lights to go off.
Thank you!! Bought one. Followed your steps and it worked. So grateful 🙏
One of the few UA-cam fixes that actually worked.
this is an excellent tutorial. i bought the exact tool, fixed it just like you show. thanks for taking the time to do this
100% totally works. Happy it works. Thanks. Got the 630 and it worked with it on the Honda Pilot 2005.
Outstanding! Ordered via Amazon this morning, delivered at 1:30pm, Problem Solved!! Thanks Man!!
Thank you!!! I have been using a Innova 3130c...it did NOT have the function that permitted doing the neutral position. My dealer told me the VSA module had failed and it would cost upwards of $2,000 including labor to replace it and get rid of the VSA light because he and the mechanic had determined the VSA Module had failed. After watching this video I elected to take your advice and go with a Foxwell from Amazon. I checked out several of the models and went with the Foxwell NT510 elite that is pre-programmed for Honda/Acura making sure it did ABS and SAS. Two days later, June 11, 2020 it arrived. the next day I successful got rid of the VSA light. VSA switch working normally. A light rain soaked a vacant parking lot and I tested ABS and VSA control.......both worked. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
My Car: 2005 TL with 6 speed and Brembo's. Mileage 289K. Tomorrow I'll replace the Canister Purge Solenoid with an OEM part. Having watched your video I feel certain that is my Check Engine light issue. Thanks for using Foxwell during your video presentation! The Foxwell 510 elite is intuitive and very user friendly. Much nicer than my older Innova;
Today 6/15/2020 I received a Canister Purge Solenoid valve from Amazon. Original Denso was made in Mexico, this replacement Denso was made in Japan. Took 30 minutes to replace it, I'm a novice,. I turned the key on, no faults were showing and the ck engine light was gone. I didn't clear anything. But I did disconnect the battery for the install, so the ECM had cleared some of its codes....guess this was one of them.
Thanks again!!!
Happy you were successful! Cheers.
Wow.. big thank you. Acura wanted 1200 to inspect and reset VSA system. Followed your video and saved over 1000 bucks! 06 MDX.
I tried this on my 2005 Acura RL and it worked like a charm.
Thank you.
This is So awesome!! My friend will be ecstatic to know this! Thanks a bunch!!
Thank you. I have the same scanner. With my iPad in the car I watched your video and after 2 years I no longer have that triangle.
Thanks! Fixed my 2006 tsx. Techs at a few shops in town told me I needed to take it to an Acura dealership about 100 miles away to clear the vsa light.
I made the mistake yesterday of not plugging back in the mass airflow connector before going for a ride. Almost every warning possible lit up on the dash. It took a tool like yours to clear all the errors so i could get an inspection. VSA was the most difficult to clear. Who would ever thought how many things a disconnected MAF could have. :-) (2008 Honda Element) I had just bought this vehicle three days before. Man, was I cursing the seller. LOL
Just wanted to say thanks for this. Bought the exact scanner you have in the video and i was able reset the VSA light on in my 2005 Honda CR-V.
Also, this is a much nicer scanner than the other, cheap, one that i have. It has a ton of really nice features, can even bleed the brakes using the ABS pump. Sweet.
Thanks again for making this video.
Thanks! Worked on my 2013 Honda Pilot EX-L.
Worked great on my 03 MDX. Better than other videos on the same subject.
Thank you very much for your help it really helps me out a lot
Thank you! I was able to fix my issue as a result of your guidance.
Thank you for your video, got a question, I also got the ABS light on. Any idea? I was able to clear the code, I got a NT650Elite Foxwell scanner. My beloved car is an Acura TL 3.2 2007, thanks.
Worked perfectly for my 2008 Acura TSX! Thank you so much!
Great to hear!
awesome, thank you. this worked with Autel scanner as well. No more anoying light!
I have a Acura TSX 04 and that same problem and I bought a scanner to find out what is happening since my car passed the inspection and everything but that light did not appear for a while. thanks for that detail! I have saved a couple of dollars in my pocket
Do you have any clue if this process would work with a Foxwell NT604 Elite scanner?
Thanks for making this video, work on my 2006 Honda Pilot
Bought the same tool. It worked! Vsa and tpms light would stay on my cousins 17 Accord Sport. Finally helped him turn the VSA light off.
It's a life saver. Glad it worked!
Is it gonna reset the vsa even the tpms light is on
It worked! Thank you very much!❤
Thanks a lot bro. I appreciate your knowledge. God bless you
Does your scanner also have the TPMS function?
Do most scan tools for Acuras TSX (2008) going to have a VSA option under control modules? Also, how do you diagnose with the scan tool something is actually wrong with the VSA before reseting,? How do you know what triggered the VSA light to come up in the first place?
Works like a charm, thank you
I have a question that maybe you can help me with.. I have a foxwell scanner NT650, I’m trying to reset my vsa light but for some reason it’s not letting me. It tells me that the abs/vsa does not work during test mode! I also try going around this, but then it tells me that it can’t communicate with my vehicle?!
Any suggestions??
THANK YOU! I wish I had found this video before replacing fuses, blowing fuses (Stupid thing on my end) and being totally frustrated, purchased the Foxwell and had the VSA reset and working normally within an hour of its arrival on my 2006 Acura MDX that had recently had the transmission replaced (And the transmission shop wouldn't try to figure out the VSA issue)...
Last summer VSA, CMBS, ACC, and Air bag lights came on. We’ve checked each of those and fixed all issues but the lights wouldn’t go away. I ordered the tool you use and it got rid of my VSA light. My question is, is the process for clearing the other lights the same as the process for clearing the VSA light? I don’t wanna screw anything up! Thanks!
I have 09 crv but I have egine light and vsa what do I do?
Dude you are the best. Bought the same tool, cleared the code with same procedure that you mentioned. VSA system works now when i floor it from a dig. Bought my car used with bad battery guess thats what caused the issue in the first place!
Great to hear!
Anyway to get rid of the VSA light without a scan tool? Between the NT630 & NT510 which is better for an Acura TSX 2008? Thx
Thanks so much for making this video man. It did turn off my VSA light on an 05 CRV. I had 2 mechanics look at the car 1 said idk and the other started BSing and wanting me to change a bunch of stuff.
what did yu change to fix it
@@vicktor1246 abs sensor was bad on 1 wheel. Mechanic changed it and took out abs light but the vsa and triangle light stayed on. Took it to another 1 he started BSing and wanted me to spend more. So I got this scanner and removed the code and it was gone for good.
So if I hit a pothole hard or maybe a speed bump the light comes on?
I purchased that same scan tool (only difference is I didn't update mine like you clearly stated you should) but it did clear my ABS, vsa, and the ! With the orange triangle. But it didn't have me spin the wheel from one side to the other. So naturally when I tool my vehicle for a test drive all the lights came back on. But I'm going to say that's on me (operator error) as I too have a 2006 Acura TL and boy was I happy when I saw all the lights cleared out. I'll definitely update my NT630 scan tool, take my vehicle to a flat surfaced parking lot and try this again. Hopefully it will not just turn them off but keep it off. Because after following the steps on the video I had thought all was well and even ran a scan but had no fault codes. But the recent changes I've made was the car had 20in rims and when I bought my new 18in rims I made sure to have new TPMS sensors installed so I thought maybe my car and those new sensors in the wheels weren't calibrated right. But I'll keep you updated. However I do love this scan tool as i perform my oil changes on 2017 Mazda CX5 and getting that orange wrench to turn off after doing my own oil change as was a pain but using the NT630 it was a breeze so I know the scan tool works as it's supposed to.. but I guess I just need a flatter surface to run the vehicle on when trying to fix the vsa problem
Dude you saved me a lot of money .... My pilot 2011 had the same issue after I sent it to the body shop they let the battery died and for some fkn reason abs and vsa ON// i called Honda Canada and they wanted just for inspection 189.oo+tax ... I found in Amazon the same tool and just plug and play // following your video I removed the fkn light 🚦 thank you
Hi do u know if the NT301 will do this too please?
U da man bro! 🎉
Thank you so much. I was about to lose my mind.
Does the vsa button click and stay in the downward position or is it supposed to spring back? Mine does not stay held down.
After 3 years of this video being posted, I'm pretty sure you know this, but imma say it anyway, YOU DA MAN!!!!!!. help clear that code off my 06 Acura tsx plus I know have a reliable scan tool. Thank you
I have the same car and scanner, I just went out and fixed the issue. thanks a whole bunch.
I have a 2004 acura tl and my vsa light works t stay off. My friend has a pretty device it shut it off, but when I went down the road it just came right back on again. He didn't straighten tires up or turn steering wheel he just did diagnostics. Like I said it turned ou off but came right back on. Do wheels need to be straight and DC o you need to turn steering wheel us that important? Please help
Hello my abs and vcs and sh-awd lights are on but not the check engine light on a 2007 Acura Mdx do you have any suggestions where I should begin as I am not a mechanic and don’t have a lot of money any help is greatly appreciated ty
The best video
Thanks soo much for this video you saved me from replacing the ABS pump which i really didnt really wanna mess with i would clear the code and as soon as i hit 30mph it would come back , i never went into control modules and that did it , this is on a first gen Acura Tsx
Happy to help!
I purchased the same scanner and cleared codes except the 8401 and tried the visa sensor but tak memorization but mine loads for a minute but then says no communication. The scanner reads dtc codes or anything else but won’t do the visa reset
Snap on scan tool works also, Jus had mine recalibrated on my 06 TL
Super video
OK it's been 2 years since you made this video. What is the best and cheapest scan tool now a days that can reset VSA and abs?
The Autel MaxiAP AP200 works also. It's a 2 step process but it works. On Amazon $62
Man this video did the trick. I followed your video step by step. Light is finally gone ?? Thanks so much
Glad it helped!
I see recommendations for the Foxwell NT630 Plus and the Foxwell NT 510 to turn off those VSA lights. For some reason the 510 is more expensive than the 630 and only works on one vehicle make. I'm assuming it might have some more or better functions than the 630 but not sure. So, why did you pick the 630 Plus? Price?
Thank you
You’re the man. Worked. 08 TL!
Sweet!
Nice demo, problem solved.
Awesome!
Oh I thought something was wrong with mine. My icon is that triangle too. I thought it was supposed to be another icon like the cat drifting. So when I turn my VSA off the triangle light comes on so that's normal? And when it turn the VSA on the triangle light come off
Does anyone know if "CGSULIT SC870 " perform this same task? Thanks.
I have an Acura tl 2005 that has an abs vsa triangle exclamation point lights that come on with a check engine light that is supposedly a gas leak, they come out randomly and I just switch my car off and on again and everything goes away except the check engine light, what can it be ?
I have a very expensive autell scan tool it can't do it oddly lol so I ordered that tool u used and 2 years later $140 down to $100 I got it for $109 after taxes brand new should be here today and I hope it works for this 06 TSX same issues and everything is working properly fuses are good etc appreciate this vid 😀
Did it work for u?
Great video! Thanks! Will this also work with the NT510 with Acura/Honda software loaded?
I don't think you'll have a problem using your scanner.
@@CarsNToys Purchased the scanner (actually bought the NT530, but that's just an updated NT510) based on your advice and indeed it did work! The menus are slightly different. And...the VSA light is off now, thank you so much!!
Can this scan tool run idle relearn?
Will this work with Acura TL 2004?
Are the tornado sirens going off in the background? lol
I've got a 05 TL which was in the front end low speed collision. The airbags did not come out but the yellow triangle light, VSA light and airbags light stays on constantly. Do you think getting the airbag module reset will eliminate all these lights ?
Have you tried turning off the vsa light as a start?
mine wont let me clear one of the codes. 18-19 it says and then 18-13 when i go into the DCT. ECM/PCM relation failure or something. im so stuck figuring this out. it all started after i replaced the clutch myself. I must have hit something reinstalling the transmission.
I had this same code. It could be so many things. Relay, fuse, or the manual transmission speed sensor. I got rid of the code though 🤣
Thanks!
Much obliged! I appreciate the Super Thank!
Thanks buddy... i was thinking the worst
Glad I could help
This procedure can also be done manually without a scanner. In the ODBII port with the ignition off you must install a jumper from pin 4 to pin 9. You then turn ignition to the 2 position. As soon as the ABS light goes out press the VSA OFF switch. As soon as the ABS light comes back on press it again. Remove the jumper you put in and start the engine. The light should be gone.
Thanks
I tried that, didn't work. Will try again.
@@longhuynh5249 how did it go
@@aceca3283 they are NUMBERED if u look closely. Take a small piece of wire or a paperclip and push one end into the hole of pin 4 and the other end in nine.
@@jimmyp410 I'm fiddin to try this right now. I did an auto to manual swap on my 2004 TL and that VSA light and that damn triangle have been on ever since. I do have ABS codes for one sensor, but it shouldn't make that light come on.
why VSA OFF key has no effect? thanks for your video.
Preciate that
I put in the VCMUZZLER 2 and my vehicle instantly ran better no more vibration and no more check engine light or VSA light on
Ive got a nt604 and i dont see anything like whats in this video.... i cant get my vsa warning light off
Hey there! I'd like to try this for my 2013 Acura ILX, but my VSA/ABS, BRAKE, HILL ASSIST, and POWER STEERING lights all come on and I'm not sure if it will address all of these things. I brought it to an Acura dealership and they replaced the VSA sensor for $90, but I drove off the lot and all lights came on again. Do I need to just pay the $3300 they're asking for to replace the VSA modulator, or should I try this? Would love your input!
Dianna Davidson you should always try the cheaper solutions. I bought my VSA switch at the dealer and just replaced it myself. It was easy. Although it didn't solve anything. So now, I will try to buy the scanner.
Can you use on any vehicle
Can i use this scanner on an Acura RL 2008?
Yes.
this $140 scanner is sweet, my Autel Diaglink does NOT cover steering SAS.
VSA light can be fixed for free with a simple wite jumper in the OBD plug during the VSA reset procedure.
My VSA Fault was caused by battery removal and OBD2 reset.
@glasser2819 - can you share details on the simple wire jumper fix?
@@adamsusa I can't off the top if my head.
I have done this jump on two occasions. Last time took me 30mn to find the instruction video where a young man explains the key-On-Off... On-Off tedious procedure.
Note: whenever you reset a fault code in ABS Module the VSA light will require the reset procedure be done to initialize function.
I have a ‘13 TL and my VSA light as well as my uphill assist light came on, hoping to get this cleared ASAP. I saw someone say that oreilly’s scanner won’t clear these codes, is this true?
I haven't tried O'Reilly's. This scanner worked great in my case.
Yes this is true
Vsa light stays on wont turn off. My buddy has a pretty good device but we did not turn steering nor did we have wheels straight he just hooked up device and light went out like I said it just came right back on again please help
If someone has a problem shortening pins and car won't turn on check the fuses for pcm ecu or acg
I got a ODB 2 reader . Paid $40 bucks 4 years ago and it works perfect. Clears all codes .
ALL CODES. I Have 2 Hondas with VSA and it clears it and done .
Dont believe that BS that u have to spend THAT much for one.
I have a great scan tool, but it couldn’t reset the system. I just bought this one on Amazon and then immediately returned it once my VSA was working, no biggie
What scan tool did you buy for 40 bux that resets vsa and abs?
@@jaybourbon8608 you know....the 40 dollar one...duh.
Well, I wrote and re-wrote all the steps you performed. There is one difference between our two NT-630 Plus scanners. Under Special Functions, my unit has four options - 1. Pulser Test, 2. Mode Clear, 3. All Sensors and 4. VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization. In following your procedure, I failed. In following the # 4. VSA Sensor Neutral Position... it also failed. Perhaps the lights can't be shut off if there is a real problem? I do have two codes - 66-1 and the 84-1. So I guess I'll have to put up with the lights until I decide to repair or replace the ABS module behind the right, front headlight.
Try to erase the 84-1 code first, then perform the VSA Sensor Neutral Position Test.
0:53 😂😂😂 Very Slick... Fukswell Btw... 😅
Or try a paperclip in obs2 pins 9 and 4 then ground pin 9 , look for a video on how to do it .
Why doesn’t my scan tool have the special functions I have the same one
Is it safe to drive after this procedure is done?😊
Hey bro, I know this is an old video, and I just got a 2008 Honda Accord and the VSA LIGHT came on . I will try this tool and let you know 🙏🙏🙏
Did it work??? I have a 08 Honda Accord too
Man that scanner really fucks well
Is this scanner returnable? I need to use it once for this reason only. No dtcs just the triangle and vsa light
Gypsy King go to your local autozone o ‘reilys or parts store and ask to borrow their reader in exchange for your driver’s license you will be able to complete it in their lot and return once done!
The scan tool at Orielly and Autozone is just a code reader. Can NOT read ABS or SRS faults.
Also could be a wheel speed sensor
Sensors has separate lights. It says TPMS
😊I have one
I had vsa triangle and abs lights come on after getting some rusted wheel bolts changed on my MDX. I managed to remove the abs light and vsa. The triangle never left and after a couple minutes of driving the vsa light always comes on and later the abs. Ive now bought this scanner hoping it’ll clear my problem
Did you ever fix it with the scanner? This problem is happening to me now again for the second time following a transmission rebuild. The exact same thing happens the vsa button doesnt work and the VSA light plus triangle always staying on.
@@garrisoncullen7476 same problem here... anything to share?
How in God's name did you ever figure out how to do that? I started out in OBD II, I think, and cleared all my codes and then went to SAS. Didn't work. I figured maybe it would be better to come back to your video and write down step by step what you did. So I gotta start with ABS/AIRBAG to scan the system, clear the code and align the SAS all without leaving the ABS/AIRBAG section. I would never have figured it out on my own. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thanks.
Got the same fault 81-1 on 2005 honda accord
84-1
