You know it's a great tutorial when things are clicking in your mind that didn't before. Stoked to watch this again before the next flatground session.
@@bobbyrussell90 360 pop shuvs are a struggle because of it going behind u/escaping it id say the better way to do them is to catch with the board at 270 with ypur back foot and to pop them forward more than turning
Certainly one of the best skate tutorial channels on the Internet. The tricks are so clean... thoroughly explained! Makes a hard trick it look so easy. Really enjoy watching it. Makes wanna have a go at it! 👊🏼
Ive never seen someone explain the different shuvit you need to do. Ive always heard its a shuvit w/ a revert but a bs bspin isnt flat its vertical. Im going to try this now. Thank you!
I've been trying this trick every day for about a week and a half 2 hours a day. My biggest issue with it is that my back foot always ends up just behind the tail. No problems with it flipping over. Watching this video for the 12th time, I noticed that you are riding dead straight before you pop for the trick and something I notice from filming myself is that I always lean forward and my board is already turning before I pop. This for me might be what's causing me to not land. I've landed about 5 so far but I hope that after observing you riding dead straight every time will help me make this trick a consistent one. Thanks so much for your bigspin vids man. Helping me tremendously. 🤘
The super nerdy insights are what separate your tutorials from others. I’m an older skater getting back into this and I watch a lot of these tutorials, trying to get back what I lost and improve on what I had. So many of them say the same shit; verbatim at times. The best teachers offer their own takes and experience and it’s often the strange little insight only you can articulate that makes it click for someone else and helps them improve. Do more of that, please! You have a super polished technique that I covet, sir! I’d learn as much as I can from you.
Personally I love this trick it's also my favorite. The biggest tip I could give almost seems suicidal for it tho. For me I just had to start hucking this trick as fast as I could go. Once I started doing that I learned to control it was easier and now can do it stationary or going mack9 speeds.
Your just a good teacher period...your one of the main reasons why i started skating... thanks man..!!!.good video..btw..i started skating at 33 yrs old..its never too late.?😲😆
do you recommend learning this at speed? Mine are flipping over, so thank you for the tip. Love this channel, no bull just straight to the point. Thanks
I find the hardest part of this trick is landing switch blind and rolling away. I end up heavy on my leading foot during the land, but for me it is easy to keep it from flipping. You really only covered the flipping issue. I find most tricks are easy to execute until the landing part. Maybe I need to work on my backsides more.
I usually land it but I feel like my body motion is not right and I think maybe it's because I catch it with the back foot instead of the front foot idk. By the way sick one at the end! Keep it up your videos are really good. Greetings from Spain!
Was just planning to plan a clean one today in my garage. Hit my left ankle so many times trying this today. I can do 360 shove its but I still struggle to keep this under me
Great tip. The funny thing is that i always caught my pop shuvs with the back foot. I catch 360 pop shuvs with the front foot, though, because it helps to stay over the board but i can't do them nearly as high as 180 pop shuvs, where i really slap the tail and jump as high as possible, so the nose stays up rocketed in the air, which makes it easier to catch it with the back foot. Once caught, the board levels out automatically. Seems it's time to go one step ahead and practice bigspins, but i struggle to get used to catch/land varial tricks in fakie stance. I'm right handed, regular stance, so it should feel natural to me. But it doesn't. No idea what's the problem. Any tips for me on this, please?
Can you make a tutorial on how to pop shove it into and out of grinds? I find it hard to commit to pop shove it into a grind. I am comfortable with doing a pop shove it on and off stuff
@@bewatermyfriend7355 Funny you say that, the last pair of shoes I had were the Nyjah's, they were far to narrow and really hurt my feet, so now I'm rocking the Es Accel Plus and find them really good, however I'm still on the look out for other Vegan shoes....can't have too many options!
@@George-um2vc There are really not many options. If you found some good shoes, let me know please. Agree, far to narrow the Nyjah shoe and I also don't like that the heel is a bit higher. Just doesn't feel right. No idea how Nyjah skates so well with them. lol
Man I suck at backside 180s/bigspins. I can land any frontside 180 trick no problem, everytime I try to backside 180 the board flys out behind me or I can’t even get the rotation
Try other foot position, other timing on shoulder rotation, more power on your shoulder rotation, little bit less pop but more jump.. Try to change where you body go. Idk but for me when i suck at one trick, i try some other "settings" Just want to help you!
Could you make a video on switch frontside bigspins? especially on how to avoid that the board is landing too far behind the feet? I can get the rotation pretty well but my front foot is landing off the board most of the tries and I've seen a lot of people having the same struggle with this trick
sounds like you need lean into your back foot with it, heelside, like fs 180s. Its because you're leaning forward a lil much so you throw yourself in front of the board, with your weight back the board should go forward with you.
The boards gonna go forward, kinda like a 3 flip. You gotta move your body with it and since its also backside it feels like your jumping pretty far. I like to imagine my wieght being slighltly ahead of the board, and for spin tricks the upper body and shoulder rotation to be just ahead so your leading the board not catching up to it. learned bs bigspin on a snowskate. When i fist did them on a skateboard i barely popped it at all while just trying to spin it around real quick and stay with the board, the pop came later. Everyone different tho you'll get it if you keep tryin

Did you get it?
Gonna give this a go, this trick has haunted my dreams for years.
Bobby Russell no matter what I try, this trick just doesn’t translate to me
This trick and popped 3 shuvs, why? Hopefully one day it's makes sence.
Bobby Russell I hope so man. I’ve literally been losing my mind over this trick for over a year now lol

@@RedOctane9 Same here. I can do them but they are NOT proper (the board bounces on the ground every time before I roll away)
The idea of showing a pop shuvit in the way u catch a bigspin was really good helps you get a deeper understanding of the motion
Perfect timing I’ve just started landing these

explaining the physics of it really makes more sense as a trick tip. thanks for that.

I really like your great videos, the teaching is great

frontside heelflips next would be cool.peace dude
Pretty mind blowing how different the skill level is for this trick between fakie and regular.
If nothing works, figure out pressure flip, bigspin is the same backfoot motion with toes hanging off less so your board doesn't flip.
Increasing my skate IQ with every video.
Would love an Inward heel video

Shot a lot. I only have fakie bk big spins. This is the next one I'm gonna get.
Do front big spins next
How long or year you paractice your big spin to come perfect.
See I always land like I’m setting up for a switch Ollie when I do it so i can land it but I wanna get them bolts
Dude I’ve been trying to get this trick all day, so frustrating
enjoy the struggle, its a part of it

Finally landed it! Id say the tutorials didn’t help me as much, but instead just practicing every day
yea I agree but once you have them, this video will definitely help you get them better
Some of the best bigspins iv'e ever seen, question, what are your go to Vegan shoes atm?

One thing to notice is that you are actually catching the shuv after it spins 270 rather than 180

new vid on HOW TO FS180 HIGHER please that would help me alot!

Do you need 3 shuvs in order to to this trick ?
Do u get razor tail doing these often? My board is fucked from fakie bigs
i just need help with the pop
Do u practice alone?
They go behind me and I only land with my front foot.

how do you commit to the trick and every time i try it with a pop it dose a flip
Papanouri try experimenting with foot positioning
Even though that’s not what you want but that’s still good bc that’s a whole different trick if it starts to flip

I always slip out
I can land big spins but they don’t stay in one place, I do a weird looking one where it jumps out like 2 feet in front of me and I follow it
i cant keep the board under me.
