DUDE! this is what Braille and those other million subscriber challenges dont tell you. Just one simple tip thats so precise yet is the difference between you landing and rolling away from a trick or messing up. I've watched your videos for a while now and overtime have come to realise how underrated and helpful the channel is. Keep up the good work thx for helping me out on so many tricks :)
I watch that braille guy tell a kid who never skated if he could do a kickflip he give him ten thousand dollars and all he did was ridicule the kid for 2hours he a dixk fr
Oh boy, this was gold. I've been skating for 20 years now and manuals have never been my thing. This tip (along many others on this channel) just made it click in my brain. Thanks for that! You have a keen eye for these details!
Dude, yes! Thank you so much for this. I could barely hold one for a few seconds and maybe go like 10 feet at best. Now I can hold them over a minute and make it across a whole tennis court. Not one video I watched mentioned this. Seriously, thanks man 🙏
Your insights are really helpful because they key into specific details rather than just generalizing about basic direction, movement, etc. This is how we learn tricks, even if not consciously--we might be able to get about 60-70% toward learning a trick but the devil is in the details so to speak when it comes to really adding a trick to your repertoire. I was trying to explain how to skate to a friend of mine who just started and it made me realize how many small details I take for granted and never really think about.
Been struggling for years with decent manuals. I always knew I dipped my toe too much but it wasn’t until I watched this and actually put more weight into the heel side that they actually got fixed. Cheers dude, made a massive difference to my skating 🍺
A tip that helped me with nose manuals was to land on it with a straight leg, not locking your knees straight tho. One of those rare aha moments for me and i got em down very quick
Was kinda expecting a 'do 'em all the time, everywhere' trick tip, but this was really informative and something you don't often hear about. U used to always try to 'pinch' my nose mannies on my toe side but lately I've been finding that holding 'em on the heel side makes for a steadier manny - especially if I'm trying to nollie or shuv into it (no flipping in for me, I'm in the geriatric squad)
Never thought about it. I have been working on manuals for the last 4 session. Feel like i need to go try this before i edit the next video. Good tip thanks.
Great tip went and tried and realised i always tried to focus leaning down the centre of the my heel to the sort of flat pocket just on the outside after the bolts.. nose manny a box is the next aim i guess
Dude... this is definitely the best piece of gem on how to manual. No other video I've seen on manuals talk about pivoting *between* the 2 wheels for balance! Priceless!
specifying that most people actually lean forward or back while in manual is actually so helpful because i have been working so hard to fight leaning either way i think it’s been pulling my focus to be honest
Been skating for 20 years, I never thought of that ^^ I'm not much into manuals but still... I guess I'm a heel guy on mannies and a toe guy on nosemanny - thanks for the insight as usual man :) KEEP IT UP !
This was really informative and also explained how I broke my arm trying them last time. I didn't figure out how I wanted to balance, so I got the board wobbling from side on top of the manual (and it being 12am...). Stoked to get back on it and try again soon!
I'm 37 and I've just started learning to skate ;) I've made it my current mision to be able to do a proper manual. Every day I discover new nuances that go into it - rear foot placement, the bend in the front foot, body position. I'm going to try this tonight too ;) Thanks! :)
I honestly thought the pinched manual thing was a joke but this makes so much sense. In hindsight I can never hold them if I land on my back wheels evenly but if I land toeside or heelside on flat I usually "lock in" to them where I only need to worry about "steering". Great tips! Excited to practice some more with this in mind.
I have been struggling with both nose and tail manuals ( I do not know if such phrase even exists) for more than a year, and your tip might be the secret ingredient! Tomorrow early in the morning I'm gonna focus on the toe or heel factor! Thank you!
I knew it....whenever I keep the weight on my heel over the one wheel I can balance it but I kept thinking i was doing it "wrong" and that I needed to stop doing that and keep the weight completely even on the tail....glad you did this video so now I don't feel wrong still.
I can't wait to get out and do some manuals after watching this video . Choosing to rest on the heel or toe has definitely been something that I've struggled with . I ride my trucks on the looser side. In retrospect whenever I've done my longest manuals was when I fully committed to either the toe or heel as a resting point. Good tip mane
Thanks for the tips. I think I've never heard any other skate tutorials that mentions about deciding to balance on either the heel or toe side, this would be a huge difference in improving the manual trick. It's like deciding whether to push goofy or regular. I would definitely try it.
The best thing I heard was to find that sweet spot when u raise your front wheels and just stay still like you’re frozen . After I applied that tip I could manual longer than all my friends . Even the ones who have much more skill than I do .
A detailed and precise explanation on a trick I’ve always struggled with. I look forward to trying this on my next Skate session. Keep up the good work with this great channel 🙌
I would really appreciate a tutorial on how to Ollie out of a manual. I feel like when I do a normal Ollie, there is so much power coming from my knee, calf & ankle, but with the Ollie out of a manual, it’s all down to the ankle, which makes the pop really difficult! I’d like to hear your thoughts on this.
Skate Hacks won't respond so I will take care of the light work my guy. Basically you have a smaller ZONE to work with so either get you're legs stronger or scoot you're feet back, their isn't a pro in the game that doesn't have monster Calfz I hope this helps comment back for further advice 🙂
Imagine being able to nollie 180 flip an 8 stair and being like one day I will go Pro this guy is the best skater non pro on UA-cam fight me? Ridiculous, Pros don't share these tips friends bask in the glory! For you have borrowed greatness in itself, also drop a like and comment, he deserves it.
I was having trouble with locking in and grinding frontside nose grinds pretty much because I kept wanting to be balanced on the heelside and that just made it shoot over or angle in to an awkward front krook. Locking in toe side on a front nose would help level out and keep it going forward.
You should do like a starter/begginer series or whatever that you explain every single trick from the start like before tho u should make videos on how to put ur legs on ur board and really simple stuff and then upload tutorial videos with the begginer tricks like ollie then 180 then shuv it then kickflip then heelflip and inside the videos u give every possible information and then u will advance to an advanced tricks series where u gonna be doing more advanced stuff like tre flip varial kickflip + + . That will help a lot of begginers , you gonna grow ur channel and that was my suggestion sorry for the bad grammar and hope u the best !
Aren't there about 200 youtubers out there who do that already? Including the once that charche for their video with that "amazing" skater A.K. as owner ?
I always just thought you had to have talent and natural balance to do the manuals but recently I saw a little glimmer of hope when I held a manual for like 6 seconds instead of my usual 1 or 2 lol
I can manual pretty long and I used to put my weight on the heel side wheel too,but it's hard to pop when I try to manual ollie or manual kickflip, the pop is so weak.because with a usual ollie we put our toe on the tip of the tail,so that we can get enough power to pop by using the ankle, but when I manual,I have my whole foot in the pocket and have to keep the foot flat, that makes the pop uncomfortable.any sugestion? can you do a tutorial about how to manual kickflip or sth, really appreciate it.
Practise. :) It sounds like you do not really catch your kick flips and need to improve them. But its tough to say without seeing it. Do you kickflip any speed and land save in 50-50s etc ? If so .. it will be easy for you to catch it the way you can manual easy.
i definelly havent tough about resting my weight when doing a manual, now i understand why it takes me 15 minutes just to pop and get into a manual that wont shatter mid way.
I always hear the THPS 1 soundtrack in my head when I see skaters. I'm hearing voices!!! The voices of Rage Against the Machine!!! Ahhhhhh doctor, I'm clinically insane by your narrow minded observations!!! Ahhhhhh

Boiiiiiiii you ARE sooo good you helping me really thanks bro
+Maty&Luky SB Ya i've always said the same thing! He's super good at explaining/breaking shit down haha
Monke🥵😍😍😍😍
I agree whole heartedly
Thank you, that was so helpful !
Tre flip nose manual was SICK !
Thank you before this video I could only many for 2 seconds, after watching this and having a quick many session I can go for about 12 seconds
This is literally a game changer. Tried it today and now I can manual more at ease. Thank you.
A tip that helped me with nose manuals was to land on it with a straight leg, not locking your knees straight tho. One of those rare aha moments for me and i got em down very quick

Haha skate Hacks ain't an Instagram mer dude knows his stuff you played Youreself delete everyone other than him
Never heard the heelside/toeside advice - def gonna try this, I feel it's gonna help me finally unlock those manuals. Thanks a lot!
WOW I have literally never heard anybody discuss tilting to the toe or heel and never even noticed people doing that when they manual. Amazing tip
Never thought about it. I have been working on manuals for the last 4 session. Feel like i need to go try this before i edit the next video. Good tip thanks.
Thanks for these amazing tips man, you can’t begin to guess how helpful these are. These are months of frustrations trimmed in a few minutes.
Great tip went and tried and realised i always tried to focus leaning down the centre of the my heel to the sort of flat pocket just on the outside after the bolts.. nose manny a box is the next aim i guess

Why it's called a pro tip, cancel the others this guy is the real deal
20 year rider!!
It’s the subtle things that make all the difference... 🙌🏽 much thanx!

Definitely worth mentioning. I thought Daewon did that but never gave it another thought so thank you I'll try for sure
Can’t believe I haven’t thought of this! Excited for tomorrow’s session!
How is it going now?
Trying to learn and just watched the other 4 major tutorials on manuals, you are the only one who mentioned this aspect. Really good insight. 🙏🙏🙏
I'm 37 and I've just started learning to skate ;) I've made it my current mision to be able to do a proper manual. Every day I discover new nuances that go into it - rear foot placement, the bend in the front foot, body position. I'm going to try this tonight too ;) Thanks! :)
This tip came to me in a dream but only now do I see what the message was. I will try too
Thank you thank you thank you for all your tips! Pure gold!

Thank you! The heel or toe tip just blew my mind \m/
I suck at manuals, will defo have to give this a try and hopefully it will help me.
Thanks bro for keeping the skateboarding community alive

Best skate tutorials on yt !! For me I focus on toe side, and I always like curl my toes to grip the board
Really great video, bro! Thank you so much, this helps a lot!

I never knew this! I think this explains why I can’t manual once I Ollie onto something. Damn it’s been driving me crazy, thanks man.

3:25 this fixed it for me, ty brother!
*damn ace trucks* 🙃
Man you have the BEST explanations in youtube. I appreciate these videos a lot! You go way into more detail than the Ride Channel videos
That's a hack that I never heard before! Can't wait until my knee heals from my last bail so I can get out and try it!
What's helped me with many's as well as this, Is just making sure I flex my back calf super hard when Im in many
I think this video might have just changed my life foreal. Wish I could have subscribed years ago. Will now.
You've very talented bro, thanks for sharing your knowledge
You helped me pop shuv and heel flip a couple years ago. Hope you’re doing good 🫡
This video changed my life. Thank you.
Thanks for the amazing content you bring
I can't wait to try this today. I absolutely suck at manuals and I hope this helps!
A detailed and precise explanation on a trick I’ve always struggled with. I look forward to trying this on my next Skate session. Keep up the good work with this great channel 🙌
Thank you for all these great videos, they helped me out 👍🏿
That's cool, I hadn't thought about it, imma try

This is a brand new concept to me imthere have been days where i Manual for days and days i can barely keep my wheels up
I didn’t know this so thank you. You always have good tips.

@@oskargarden4559 There are but everybody has diffrent tips and tricks to show from their prespective and how they see it.Not everyone the same ;)
Big help for me bro! Thanks
What am I supposed to look at for the best balance? As of right now, I’m looking at my front foot/ nose of the board while manualling.
I always just thought you had to have talent and natural balance to do the manuals but recently I saw a little glimmer of hope when I held a manual for like 6 seconds instead of my usual 1 or 2 lol
Good video I'm learning this
Bro my manuals went from half a second to straight up ten seconds W tip
A manual is definitely a trick dude
U should do two ones related to this one on how to kickflip into manuals and how to flip out of them
Omar Villalpando power Ollie’s and power kickflips kinda help with that
I can manual pretty long and I used to put my weight on the heel side wheel too,but it's hard to pop when I try to manual ollie or manual kickflip, the pop is so weak.because with a usual ollie we put our toe on the tip of the tail,so that we can get enough power to pop by using the ankle, but when I manual,I have my whole foot in the pocket and have to keep the foot flat, that makes the pop uncomfortable.any sugestion? can you do a tutorial about how to manual kickflip or sth, really appreciate it.

@@oskargarden4559 you are right,I haven't got my kickflips consistent, just need to practise, thank you bor
Thank you so much!! I really needed this!
Keep your head centered between your center most of gravity. Point your toes slightly forward. and keep your off-ground side loose, but aware.
👍🏻 keep em coming!
Been skating for 18 years and never thought about that
Thanks for the tips! Keep it up homie
damn saw that clip of you mannying that huge circle thing in downtown SA and subbed immediately
i definelly havent tough about resting my weight when doing a manual, now i understand why it takes me 15 minutes just to pop and get into a manual that wont shatter mid way.
Really helpful thank you
awesome video and god damn this makes me want to play THPS 4!
@05:17 bro those moves were *DOPE* af
I always hear the THPS 1 soundtrack in my head when I see skaters.
I'm hearing voices!!!
The voices of Rage Against the Machine!!!
Ahhhhhh doctor, I'm clinically insane by your narrow minded observations!!!
Ahhhhhh
Newbie here, haven't tried that yet but wouldn't it make me turn instead of going straight? 🤔
Albert Skowroński no
So then how do you turn while in manual?
Joe Wakeman by leaning to the side you want to turn to
Does flipping out of tricks change which way you lean? Like, if you're doing nose manual nollie flip do you lean on your toes so it's easier to flip?
Good question, yes it does help to lean heel or toe based on the flip trick out
I need to do the beginner trick like manual, pivot, and caveman
i love you with my entire heart
i was talking about it with my bro, that the tony hawk bar for manuals was fake, that you also have a sideways bar
Which park is that at the beginning? Looks like you're in San Antonio
The first skatepark is Floresville, but yes I’m based out of San Antonio
superb, i never thought of toe or heel. thanks great tutorial. I cant manual :
Great tip thanks
Solid video brohaus thanks for the tips
Appreciated
Do a vid on varials
Never thought bout that
i didnt know that , thanks !
I do have tony have Tony Hawk pro skater 4 and Ametican Wasteland but on Gamecube
Sick
Great tips as always 👍
Can you do a now and later reflection vid on giving up on getting sponsored and instead choosing the path you're on now?
Living in SA? Thanks for the manual tips
Great channel🙏🏻🏆❤️
