I have this fear of overshooting and going back lip on the ledge. When I try to compensate, i end up missing the ledge completely. Such a mental game. Lol.
I very rarely comment on anything ever... this is one of the best skateboarding videos I’ve ever seen, in any capacity. Truly a quality clip. Bravo, well done brother.
I've found learning front boards helpful as a bit of a gateway to this trick, it gets you used to the feeling of sliding backwards/blind. Still not got these but getting close - hopefully by the end of the year! I'm always surprised when I actually land onto the ledge and slide. In that moment I tend to panic and don't think quick enough to turn out and make the land. It'll happen soon no doubt. Patience and persistence is the key. :)
@@Nofacenocase6420 Took me like 6 months and pre shit at them still, but you figure it out! I went back and got good at back 5050's Now I focus on doing back 5050, then shifty, commit and look where my back foot was~ Have you figured them out yet??!!!!!
@@aaronleghissa yooo I read your comment this morning and thought I’d try it out. I’d done 1 before today, but it was pretty trash, but after your tip I’ve now learnt em properly. Cheers bro!
@@Nofacenocase6420 helll yeah!!!! Good to hear! I got mine better yesterday too, actually sliding them for a little while now./ My shoe kept stopping me, but I put my back foot up not on the tail as much, on the approach and my shoe doesn't get stuck anymore!
Your videos are so much better than any others for sure man. I will def donate and support soon, keep it up much love and respect from Northern California
rad video you really go in deep and this trick is one that really needs it. I have never been able to get this locked properly regular, with nollie or fakie i can do em no problem most of the time.
Great video and good explanation! Love your vids. There are no videos on how to flip out of slides anywhere. That's actually how I found your channel. You think you can do one on flipping out of noseslides? Thanks!
i second this! i'm trying to learn nollie heel out of noseslides. i don't have them good at all but till he makes a video, try popping out of nose slides a lot, it reallyyyyyy helps because if you don't pop out you're not gonna be flipping it. also, sliding longer, gives some time to prepare for the pop/flip out. i guess just trying to flip out of nose stalls would help too. nollie flip outs though... damn how?
informative stuff! im trying learn this trick still, for some reason i can kickflip back tail and nollie back tail but i cant get the regular down lmao subbed!
Been skating for years but just cant get that tail in the ledge :( im not afraid my board dosent follow i can do so many tricks except this one and bs lip lip slide its frustrating
Two things I reckon old mate should have mentioned. 1. Learn nollie back tailslide on curbs first. You get used to the slide that way. 2. The key is getting the board to start sliding before your weight comes down.
Sliding part is not the issue here, the main problem is getting to lock in the tail, once you get it locked then the sliding part should come after. Probably should learn how to bs 5-0 and bs 180 first before going on with bs tailslide.
Dude great explanation of trick I have the same problem, I start pop too far of the ledge now l try to get closer dude could you help with back nosegrind back 180 out that trick is really cool
Backtails look like fun . I'm goofy and right footed so my strong foot is forward. I never see any videos on this discussion. So (for me) flip tricks are done with my strong foot and i pop off my weaker, for backtails i never felt comfortable landing onto my weak foot while going blind side into the ledge. The board always either sticks or slips out, or dont make it onto the ledge, and either bend your ankle the wrong way which isn't nice on your weak side, or end up scraping all the outside of my foot down the ledge. It's a horrible trick I wish I had
Work out your foot and legs. Once i started working it out everything i had trouble with became easier. No fucking joke. I've been skating for 20 years and this past two years I've progressed more from the benefit of having stronger legs.
@@eddym54 ye man ive been thinking this for a while tbh.. seems pretty obvious , but yeah stronger legs would of course make jumping easier and landing more comfortable. And core. Any particular exercises you focused on? Or advice from anything you've learnt in the past two years 👍🏽
I’m learning them at 10 months of skating. I just needed a few tips on how to lock in bc I slide on the box without locking in and sometimes it shoots out and I die. Still get up and do it again tho. Next is kickflip back tail and once I get the tail consistent then the kickflip back tail will be easy since I can backside flip
Built me a grind box about 1ft high then decided for better ledge trick practice as far as positioning and landing on the ledge correct I cut the box down to about 7” and later on I’ll get another bigger box built gotta learn all over again lol
UA-cam doesn't automatically add subtitles in any language, only in the original language that is spoken in the video. But i've turned on the 'community contributions' option: so for anyone that speaks English and both another language fluently: feel free to contribute those subtitles yourself if you'd like to add to it. I don't want to google translate my English into another language and have something get lost in translation - especially since this is skateboarding lingo.

I don't even skate anymore but this is so much more informative than the "trick tips" that came out when I did.
This is definitely one of the most wanted tricks is skating.

Hey I happened to hit this park last time I was in SA! Bowl is so gnarly but, I liked that ledge and going up the little 3 stair
Great channel, man. Can you do a BS NOSESLIDE tutorial?
Nice its so cool.

Question for you. Every time I do backside tail sides I can't stop at the 90° with my tail on the ledge. I pretty much do a back 180 tail slappy

5-0, fs noseslide.. My experience from beginning-
50-50, bs noseslide, 5-0, fs tailslide, boardslide, fs nosegrind, crooked/smith/feeble, lipslides
Camilo Vásquez degree in ledge ripping
Best trick tips going.

"...Stand on top of the tailslide and just own it." Is that why I can noseslide for 8-12" but slip out if I try for a longer slide?
Haven’t try this yet
took me almost 2 years to really get this trick down. tbh i think the biggest issue was fear and not looking down at my back foot
For some reason I can’t get any noseslide/Tailslide tricks down.
To pop slow and low is the hardest thing for me, bs tails and i are not good friends 😞
I got 2 today!! Real shit ones. I'll commit like you say. Thank you!
my back foot will land on the ledge but my board just refuses
make one of these for noseslides, i cant even get it backside
