I think it'd be cool to see a video on skate posture/form. How weight distribution, foot placement, upper body effects tricks in specific ways. Like a trick tip on how to fix every trick on your own. I think you'd be able to explain that well. Hopefully, that makes sense.
This couldn’t have came at a better time, board was flying behind me and was getting so pissed I was just gonna say forget it and try tre flips, the shoulders and flick direction tip helped landed the cleanest heel flip ever today, thank you dude
Your tutorials are the best on UA-cam. Just wanted you to know that. I love how relaxed and comprehensive they are, and your slow motion videos of personal reps help me to believe that I can do it too one day. Thanks for the content.
My skate progression is going rocket fast since i started watching your videos couple days ago fine tips clearly explained i corrected many mistakes Thanks Dude commitment is the key as you said so true
before every session i look one video of your channel, then i go out and try what is told me. result is way more solid flips, shuvs, varials. And i love what you say about commitment.
Thank you very much. I struggle with my weight distribution and have to remember to lean back, in my head I try to force my whole body to go back. I also try to pop the tail as hard as I can and it seems to help. The main issue is still the right timing of all the moves. Your slowmotions help a lot. Beautifull tuto! Much repect!
It's worth mentioning that there is a second completely different technique for heelflips than the one demonstrated here whereby you flick with your pinky toe and not your heel. Some people refer to that technique as the Neen Williams heelflip. He has a berrics video where he explains it. I find that technique allows for a lot more control of the flip and fewer rocket heelflips.
I've been skating for 10 years and this spring when the snow melted I couldn't heelflip anymore. I literally had no idea what was going wrong I've been skating long enough that I can usually self diagnose any issues, adjusting weight distribution, set-up, truck tightness, changing where/how I flick off and literally nothing made sense. Sometimes I could land them and other times I'd be totally hopeless. TODAY I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT! WHEN LEANING BACK YOU MUST STICK YOUR REAR END OUT FURTHER TO GET MORE WEIGHT BEHIND THE BOARD! THIS ALSO HELPS YOU SEE THE BOARD ROTATE UNDER YOU! before I was literally bending straight down to pop and trying to lean my shoulders back which would put my head behind my knees so I could hardly see the board rotate as well and making you land with your weight way to far forward and difficult to land.
Wow bro u deserve so much more you really give me an understanding and a run down of things going wrong and what I need to fix thank you keep up the greatness
Yesterday was my first day trying to heelflip at the park as I have been doing only scoop tricks for a couple of months. Trust me I can heel flip the board with not much of a stress although I can’t land and roll away on my board after the flip but when you mentioned about the commitment that people lack by just making a habit of flipping the board without committing to landing it, I picturized myself so hard that I couldn’t help but stick to the points you mentioned here in this vid. I’ll be back here with my feedback once I land it while rolling. Thanks a lot Skate Hacks and sorry for my english if its not correct!
Before watching this I would land on the graphic of my board or land a really gross looking one after 3 days off trying these tips I can land them almost every time thank you so much for this video
Finally a UA-cam tutorial that talks about where your weight should be. You did a much better job explain where to flick off the board that other tutorials do too 🤙🤙
Something I've noticed most heelflips have that people don't mention. The back foot is in the back pocket of your tail. That way the board kicks a bit forward on the pop.
I think the commitment part is mostly fear. Afraid of the board shooting out and falling on your butt or face or other injury. But can become habit I can only do stationary pop shoves, but I’m taking less “warm up” time to land them So could also be more confidence than commitment. The more I’ve landed them, the more confidence I have in myself in landing them when “warming up”. I need to get over that initial mental block which will come with more practice and landing them
I was basically throwing the ollie and at the apex of my height flicking straight out with heel, it was doing precisely what you showed, going behind me, can't wait to lab them tonight and maybe even add a trick to my bag.
I've been trying heelflips seriously for the past few days and manage to land with the board upside most of the time, just can't seem to get the full rotation
A year & a half ago I heelfliped the local 3 stair. Jacked up my left knee and haven’t landed one since. Thankfully I kept my kickflips but hopefully with this I can get my heels back 🙏🏽 Edit: I jacked up my knee from switch bs 180s, i landed the heel off the 3
another tip is to roll from pavement to grass, attempting the heelflip (or other tricks) at the grass line so you land in the grass with no rollout issues. (Just keep in mind not to get too much momentum going so you don’t fly forward once on the grass.)
I notice your trucks a fairly loose. Could you do an in-depth video about the pros and cons of skating loose and tight trucks and explain how it affects board maneuverability?
I have them on banks to fakie but not on flat. The bank keeps my body aligned over the board and helps be flick up. I still have lots of work to do on flat.
I’ve had trouble just simply catching the board for about 3 years straight. I’ve seen people land these in an hour yet all my progress on them stopped about 2 years ago.
i can do the perfect flip almost everytime, but i land with my backfoot...i cant suck both legs up so i can land it . i landed it sometimes standing still but never again since then.
Learned My heels before My kickflips, but i lost them, and after this quarantine break i realized that . Is necessary for me to relearn the techniche since i hace the muscle memory no more. I'll correct My body distribution for the next time. Thanks a lot bro
Bro not joking and I'm not the one to usually comment on tricks tips but broooooo I never knew why I had good heelflips but I would always land with my toes on the ground and my heels on the board but it turns out it was all on how I leveled myself. Thank you
Aah, so _that's_ how to prevent it from rocket flipping. I kept trying, but I suppose my heel just always leave early and as I got credit carded a bunch I just didn't feel like trying much. The one time I got close to landing one, I actually did slide pretty much 70% through the nose and 15% of the pocket, but it _barely_ flipped. Which made sense. Just was stuck between either such a super slow flip or getting credit carded. The weight distribution is a good one also. I'm leaning too far back before I pop and too far forward when I did the flick. So basically my front foot is prone to getting too low to land on it.
The board used to never level itself out and the nose would land on the side of my leg with hard pressure since my back foot would actually land on it. Heel flips are a night mare to me now...
I have learned heelflip with my entire front foot inside of my board, now, I tryhard so much inwardheel and , that's don't work at all, so frustrating !
I cant find anyone with the same problem as mine. I used to have heelflips down. Now every time i do them they dip down and almost makes me credit card myself every time. I credit carded myself once about 6 weeks ago and it hurt so bad i haven’t done it since. Im scared to commit and its super frustrating. Please help
i’d say about 20 percent of my attempts result in the board turning like an inward heel. i landed the heelflip two months ago, but i just cannot get them consistent

You couldn't land heelflips and decided to practise 360 flips? lol...that's another mistake
@@alejandroperez5368 haha yeah right son, now my heelflips are mean and I've almost got tre flips on lock. you must watch braille too much
@@alejandroperez5368 Lmao it doesn’t really matter. I can tre flip but I can’t kickflip or Heelflip. People just have different learning curvesz
i was intensively thinking about this exact issue on my last session you're a nostradamus?
Einstein
Dude exactly. You gotta retrain yourself to try and actually land on the board
Me rn
Easy hold on to something land it build that confidence do it without holding on or no wheels

his take on commitment is key!
Skilled and well spoken.clever. Thanks. I’ll bet so many youngsters have benefitted from this and your vids
This is probably one of the most useful tutorial Chanel’s I’ve seen
Thanks for this, seriously I've been thinking about trying heelflips more and this is immensely useful
your videos are by far the best trick tips videos out there. thanks man.
This is just what I needed bro, thank you so much for your videos! I definitely keep coming back to your channel for more tips.

You really cover every area and every concern one might have, thanks dude
What's wrong with my heelflips:
Nothing. Because they don't exist...yet.
The other thing I really struggle w is the timing. You gotta really wait for the pop
Wow that last point is spot on bro

kickflips look easier but they take more force the heelflips that why i say heelflips are easier than kick flips and the take less time to get down
3:59-4:40 is a brilliant lesson in self awareness and how to stay focused on learning. "Accountability" mmm yeah thats the stuff.
