This video is exactly what I need right now. I can get in and slide a crooked grind pretty consistently but getting out of em is where I struggle. D: Hopefully can get one soon.
@@markf5314 approach the ledge at a parallel angle. try not to go too much at an angle though, cuz if you miss the coping you just go off flying. yeah, try it parallel first. this means that you should not go at an angle. just twist your body/legs to the coping, if i'm making any sense to you. good luck
@@caillouplat5307 yea same . I found crooks easier for me than fs noses . like whenever I try to fs nose I just miss the ledge cuz u need so much space but I'm like always having a bit more which leads to my death kinda x,d. but I'm sure I'll get there by time and I'll slide the shit out of the local ledges :^)
You'll get used to the scrapes and scratches if you wear no show socks long enough. It will also teach you how to heelflip with an easy ankle flick. Everybody is different tho!
You must've read my mind homie. Been on and off watching your k grind videos for the past year. In the past week, I'm the closest to getting this on lock than I've ever been. Just rewatched your tutorial this morning. Thank you.
Hey Will, love the channel. I have a rare request, which I realize there may not be enough demand for to warrant a video, but I’ll leave it here just in case. You made a video on (kick)flipping into tricks in general - I would love to see a video on flipping out of tricks in general. I’m at a stage of progression in my skating where I’m starting to be able to form flip tricks out of 5-0s, tailslides, etc., but could really use some pointers. I realize this is a more advanced topic that won’t appeal to as many, but I’m sure there are others in a similar boat. You could cover flipping out of different slides/grinds; for example, flipping out of nose/tailslides is likely much different than flipping out of 5-0s, nosegrinds, smiths, crooks, etc. The technique for flipping out of tricks is way different than what’s required to just do them on flat. As well, normal heel/kickflips out seem different than doing tricks out that also rotate, like tre flips. You should def do it cause there are hardly any tips on UA-cam about flipping OUT of tricks.
I understood how to place my truck on the curb, I am ..... this close to lend my first bs krook, thanks a lot. There is many "how to..." on youtube but they are rarely pedagogical.
Cool video. I'd definitely like to see a fakie big heel video. There's a real shortage of videos on that trick and I'd really like to see that trick covered on your channel. Thanks!
Really appreciate your videos. Is there any way you could do a video on flipping out of slides? I just can't get the bounce that you need to flip out and I don't know where to put my feet. Thanks!
It was very usefull to watch to understand the truck position on the ledge, thanks to the camera angle. But you did not give any tips for the exiting that I am currently, struggling with. :( I hope to find out by myself today. :P
never figured out why I couldn't slide this trick no matter how fast I went and turns out it's because I was popping too high. no one really talks about that part for some reason.
I keep forgetting to give it the little nudge at the end I can krooked grind for long distances but bc I forget that little nudge I hardly ever land them
My front rear wheel seems to be half off ledge when I try to crook, it slides along the ledge edge rather than on top of the ledge, can't seem to lock in properly, any tips on how to get the wheel fully on the ledge? Am I turning to much?
i had the same problem but fixed it: what helped me was keeping my weight centered over the ledge, when you lean too much forward or sideways off the ledge, you automatically flip into primo, because your feet 'fall' earlier than your board can leave the ledge, thereby flipping it
When first learning a smaller wheel is probably better. This was my biggest issue when I was learning a number of grind tricks. My wheels where too big.
christian roche I figure 53mm isn’t too bad... unless I wanted to get a set of 51s to dedicate for street... Anything less than 53 is too small on transition!
@@ER_aka_RAM 53 is perfect. 54 i feel is where it gets harder to lock in. I used to be in a cabin with Jamie Foy in woodward years ago. He had two boards one for transition and one for street.
christian roche Fawesome! 🤘🏽 …so far 53s have felt best (haven’t ever ridden anything smaller). I had just picked up a set of F4 Classics 99d, and rotate between Radial Slims . Was Foy’s setups identical boards, or completely different setups (street/tranny)?! Thanx for the feedback 🤙🏽
This trick is scary. When I was looking up noseslide most people said crook is easier than nose. I disagree I can nose slide easily and this trick seems scary :/ I tried getting into crook on a small ledge and ate shit without speed xD
Good tip on not ollieing to high. That is my problem, calibrating the Ollie. I get tossed forward. Always appreciate your tips.
Still working on my frontside 5050s. Just started. Been skating since 2001 on and off. Landed my first one on a small step :)
Ay let’s go bro!!
Suprisingly i learned them on accident 😭😂while trying nose slides on a curb so now I can bs 50 for some reason
Love that I look up a quick tip and see a clip from LBJ. Keep it up!
Always the best videos come to your channel learn new tricks all the time

Awesome! I like how your back foot rolls and helps with the pop off. Like you nollie out. Looks slick either way!
Thanks it reallly helps! Sometimes I just lose crooked grinds and it’s frustrating
Super helpful and straightforward. Much appreciated.
but when you miss the coping and the trucks don't lock, that shit is scary ;) takes you by surprise when you slide out at mach speeds ;)
Same for me when I learned the fs nose slide 😅

Bro idk how you skate with no-show socks and slip ons. I skate with crew socks and Vans sk8-mid highs
id be scared of my ankles lmao.

I will definitely try this on my next day off! Thanks!
Haha I immediately recognized that ledge you’re skating, San Antonio skatepark 👌👌👌
Thans for helping me to skate better 🙌
Thanks for going over this again
Thanks! I was waiting for this tutorial

Its fricking scary once you lock it in just right and it grinds flawlessly.
I keep forgetting to give it the little nudge at the end I can krooked grind for long distances but bc I forget that little nudge I hardly ever land them
I feel like popping out of the crook is a bit easier then just kind of rolling off

niiice that's exactly where i'm at right now, ty
I’d really like a how to do 5-0 grinds on round rails trick tip
my problem
is grinding them i can lock in most of the time but have trouble getting them to grind on a buttery ledge
Yooo I was just at this park yesterday. Small world
can you make a video for kf kgrind please ,also kgrind to bs lip . please
Front feeble on rails or front crooks on ledges
Yeah will!
LEYKIS 101!
Backside nosegrind back 180 out trick request
thank, my ankles is knackered from 30 year's of skateboarding, but I need to get my krooket grinds on lock
Can you practice lasers?
When you learn it's easier to FS shovit out of them on ledges.
Practiceing boardslides please
Keep it up man
The end of my crook always goes primo
This might be too late but i used to do the same. I found that using my heel to nudge the board keeps it level. Hope that helps
i had the same problem but fixed it: what helped me was keeping my weight centered over the ledge, when you lean too much forward or sideways off the ledge, you automatically flip into primo, because your feet 'fall' earlier than your board can leave the ledge, thereby flipping it
Would a wheel size between 51-52mm make it any easier to slide... or is 53mm still okay to work with?
Its the same. Maybe 58 or bigger would feel weird, but vert guys are working it out no problem.
When first learning a smaller wheel is probably better. This was my biggest issue when I was learning a number of grind tricks. My wheels where too big.

hi how to do these on round rails? it feels very different
Whenever I try and pop out, my board for some reason wants to flip a nollie heel. Anybody know why and to make it stop?
Same :(
Your probably not keeping your weight on your front heel
Doing more of the ledge is scary but it helps me avoid accidentally nollie heeling out.
Bigflip tutorial?
Frontside crooks next
I thought we dont come at an angle cuz whenever i dont i either get into a nose or overcrook
How would you get into an over crook? Lol
Hopeful
When the ledge has an end they’re not too bad but if you’re trying to get out early it’s a pain for me personally
Practicing front and back noseslides 🙋♂️

I tried getting into crook on a small ledge and ate shit without speed xD
for some reason I can always get into the lock of the crook but can never slide it
Brum because ypu have to press very hard on your front foot if you lean too forward you will never slide
Back 360 heel
Yo you got Instagram?!
frontside flip much please!
Most of time my crooked fall into noseslide
Do impossible please
