I was literally at the point where I had put a lot of work into the 180 but I had issues with leaning on my tail instead of the nose and wasn't going all the way through, and just by leaning over the nose legit made me land a knee height BS 180 first try!

After working out, getting legs strong again, skating a lot, in three weeks I was 360 flipping like I never stopped. However, I could NEVER BS 180. After watching this video, and about an hour or two of practice, I'm banging them out all Easter Day. What helped the most was the tips you put in there that none of the other skate tutorials do. Thanks, and great/informative video!

"shoulders first" wow... im gonna try this next time and finally get my back heel.
it makes so much sense aswell. maybe im focusing too much on my feet rotating.
because the same thing always happens to me. im not rotated enough but my board is perfectly rotated.
for some reason on one insane day i had fs flips down. i only underrotated the kickflip but always landed prefectly on the board.
and now i have the same issue on that trick. board rotates perfectly but i cant get my backfoot on.

I’ve already commented but i just have to say again practicing that “pivot” was SO clutch for me. I can BS revert so easily but pivoting is completely different bc the weight shift and now i have unlocked this trick!

  • @paragon215
    @paragon215 4 роки тому +1

I found that if you follow through with your head more than your used to doing, like look all the way around to the landing point so when you land your already set up for another trick just makes back 180 smooth as it gets. Just focus on you head turning all the way around so when you land your ready to get anther trick in your lines. This goes along with your shoulder technique.

No idea why this popped up in my suggestions. But your channel looks sympathetic.
Sean, if you want a tip for your bs 180s to improve, if you don't mind me placing it unasked.
Well as you said there are two types of bs 180s that is almost like a total different trick to me.
From what I saw ... most of the times you don't pivot nor slide the rest of the rotation on the floor but do the full rotation. When you land, you land fakie. Try landing switch. You are always looking backwards when you land them. Try to land them looking forward. I am not sure wether I expressed myself.
I learned to do mine on 4 different ways all for different purposes or simply style/feel.
-Over something : I ollie almost straight and shoulders are prepared and really active. Once cleared I turn my shoulders and. Rest of the body follows almost automatically. Make sure the back food is also leading the rotation and is active.
-Full speed just to torn around for doing a fakie or switch trick afterwards. Also the only way I manage to do them switch. To old to focus still on switch... lol. You simply do them like a 180 power slide but pop slightly. Most of the times yours are like that I saw. As I told you before.. try riding away switch, not fakie. Makes the following trick easier and makes it more "stylish" too in my opinion.
-pivoted, almost like the first one.. but you turn your shoulders much slower after your peak and simply pivot them out.
-rest of rotation slides on the ground. Also like the first one, but you do a proper full 90 degree or even more power slide at the end. You need speed and power in your back foot for that, and confidence and a floor that allows that at best. Because if you buckle that one ... you buckle
    Have a good one

Learned it within weeks but didn’t perfect this method until months later
