I got tired of fighting the lock out situation every time I went to set up camp. For some reason, it would not always clear right away, so I removed wire # 64 from the node "Brake Hight Input" capped and stowed...now no more issues. Caution if you do this, your kids could open things with your phone while traveling. Also, you can use the arrows on the hard buttons and cycle to "OF" press EXT and the system will shut down. Give it a few minutes then press 1 to restart. This can clear out problems in the system.
Most definitely jayco should put a higher end tablet in these crazy expensive coaches, and my biggest gripe is the tank sensors, these big rv’s come with very large tanks and there is a lot of space between 1/3 marks. And I also very much agree with everything else you mentioned, very good ideas.
Your video just helped me! Crazy thunderstorm came through while I was out. Came home and COULD NOT turn lights on from this panel. Did like you suggested and closed out apps and pairing was able to go through. Thanks again man for the videos!
Glad to hear. Thank you! I combined some more troubleshooting steps on the pairing all into this one video here: ua-cam.com/video/ijA74QSBfWs/v-deo.html
I totally agree about the smart thermostat options... you would think it wouldn't be hat hard to add. I keep a T-Mobile home internet tower in the camper so its always connected to the cloud and think there's more options they could do with that... like connect to my Watchdog. If I could connect my Watchdog via Bluetooth to the tablet and then view it via the cloud, that would be awesome! I could check usage and etc from anywhere! Mine is a 22 so I missed the voice control options by a year, but it shouldn't be that hard for me to connect to my Alexa in the camper. I keep one in there just to listen to news, music, reminders and etc. It would be great if I could control lights or thermostat with Alexa.
Great ideas! Imagine if they could tap into a weather source and by location have the app send notifications that a storm is approaching 30 min out and then if you don't acknowledge and take action by closing your awnings yourself, it would close the awnings for you at ~10 min before the storm arrives! That would be pretty nifty.
I’d like to see the rear high accent dimmable. Can’t understand why it’s not. They need a bigger antenna on the node so it actually reaches the cab with the basement loaded while driving. Also, the app is quite finicky to button pushing. Jacks start, then stop, same with awnings. Another great video. Please explain how you get the node on the web while you’re on the road. Lastly, if you haven’t already a detailed Winegard video would be awesome. Don’t understand the ins and outs of what chip to use if we want to enhance our mobile phone signal. Your videos rock! Thanks so much.
Thank you! Great points all around! I used the Winegard for almost 2 years, and really had a lot of problems with it...it seemed to hang up and freeze often requiring reboots. Don't think it's worth it in my opinion. A couple months back I found a suitable alternative that has exceeded my expectations so far, the TravlFi JourneyXTR... Brinkley RV and Riverstone are including it as OEM in their units.
The touchscreen on our BMPRO tablet is completely black and not turning on at all. All the buttons on the bottom of the tablet are still functional. I have tried taking the tablet out of “sleep mode” that I saw in a different video. I’ve also removed the tablet from the wall, disconnected and then reconnected. Nothing worked. The app on my phone is working fine. Any advice?
If the screen is completely black meaning off entirely (not just black screen, but backlit or dim/on), then it sounds like your tablet is completely powered off (abnormal). It is designed to automatically power on by default when it has power whether via battery or the 5V micro USB connection, so if no power at all on tablet it makes me think the battery could potentially be completely dead, keeping it from turning on even with external power (sometimes that can happen). Are you able to try removing the tablet from wall and shroud...then connecting tablet to a different wall charger via the micro USB port on tablet? The built-in power/charger cable that runs to the shroud is lower powered (amperage), so just a thought if you have another wall charger with higher amperage to test on it (any standard USB charger). Otherwise, if it doesn't even power up with an external wall charger, I lean toward the battery inside tablet being culprit...it seems to be a weak point on the tablet they source. However, it's possible a more serious problem has occurred and tablet is toast completely, but I'd try battery replacement next if you're up for it: ua-cam.com/video/7fFEkbqOi08/v-deo.html
I agree with all you have stated, additional hardwire would be a game changer. More than once we have arrived at a site and the bluetooth will not connect I will go thru the steps to cause that to happen but often it takes a few times. Not a big deal except when the coach is 110 degrees and everyone is waiting for a connection so I can turn on the A/C, to have hard wire as a fall back would be very helpful. The tank sensors would be my # two on the list, this would also be very helpful. Thanks
I am not sure it is a battery issue or wifi or just the 4 pin connector problem. I had a black screen for a week and took the tablet off the wall and installed. Now the tablet is working again.. How to test the tablet battery? Reading 100%. I guess I will wait and see.
Great question. If your tablet is close to 2 years or older and it seems to behave erratically/sluggish, it is possible battery is issue. The 4-pin connector is a much weaker charge current compared to external charger, so if you find that to be case repeatedly I'd lean toward battery. You'll have to report back though and keep us posted.
Yes, that would be nice especially to close awnings if you forgot and a storm was coming. I guess there's always that safety issue not being physically there and operating motors remotely, but maybe with a special disclaimer or safety lock-out slider that could be addressed?
I’ve got a 2023 Jayco pinnacle. Everything has worked fine until day before yesterday. I absolutely have not been able to get my Bluetooth to connect. I have a iPhone 13 Pro Max. I have done everything I have found online to do including taking the pads off the wall unplugging it and put back and still can’t connect. With that being said my phone showed it’s connected but I can’t get past the pairing screens on the tablet. I have the cloud connected but I can’t get any function with the cloud connected. That has never worked, even tho it says I’m connected. In at a loss as to the next step to take. I’ve called BMPro and left messages, called Jayco of course they are closed til Monday. It’s 80+ degrees and I can’t run the AC in my RV!!!! Please help!!!!!
Sorry to hear about the troubles. That is frustrating for sure. In case you haven't already, try the steps in this video first (starting at: ua-cam.com/video/ijA74QSBfWs/v-deo.html&si=6x1TpSH6MCc8w9OB You may also try clearning the paired devices: teambmpro.com/wp-content/uploads/035285-RVMaster-Help-Guide-pairing-node-controller.pdf
I have a love hate relationship with mine for sure... I want to like it, but I just cant. I get that yellow pop up every time I try to use my phone with the system. The Bluetooth range is pitiful... our camping friends can control his camper from my campsite and I can hardly control mine from outside my camper. (he has a Grey Wolf or something like that) I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I like your videos and we would be camp buddies if you lived closer Haha... we are both nerds! I mean that in the nicest of ways!
Thanks, appreciate that! :) I have heard some mention bluetooth range is poor too. I wonder if it has to do with different versions of the node or the mere placement of the node in relation to rig floorplan. My range has been great, sometimes all the way to the next campsite or in my truck cab no issues, but I've had others comment they cannot get but a few feet out of the RV before it disconnects...that's frustrating for sure.
MY TABLET DIDNT WORK WE GOT IT TO WORK NOW THE BUTTONS WONT CONNECT TO THE NODE. SO I CANT DO ANYTHING WITH MY RV. I CANT CONNECT TO MY PHONE EITHER HOW OR WHAT CAN I DO
You are a God send for me!!!! I have a 2021 Pinnacle 36FBTS and have owned it since 11/21. I’m having my first problem with the BMPro after experiencing a power issue with the RV park where my Watch Dog power surfer saved my electrical in my coach. The tablet is now not charging and I’ve had to remove it completely from the frame and it’s charging via micro USB on my table. Do you think the power surge incident damaged anything that would inhibit the continuous power to the pad?
So if I understand correctly, the tablet will charge fine via an external AC plug via micro USB...and it gets to 100% that route, but then when you plug it back into the bezel/wall mount it discharges again? And, do all your hard wired buttons on the BMPRO bezel (separate from tablet...1,2,3, EXT, RET, , etc) still work fine?
My thought is triple back up on all features. Sure the wifi is great but analog buttons and an easy method to manually work the slides, jacks, awning. I had a problem w/ power and could not easily lower the awning.
Love your Video's, I'm not sure? but have you done the Winegard setup in a previous video? I wanted to see if it worth installing a Sim card? I followed the LED changes you made and it was real easy to replicate, thank you for that!
Thank you, appreciate that! I used the Winegard for almost 2 years with both Verizon and ATT SIM cards. I found the Winegard to be incredibly glitchy where it would randomly freeze up and force you to reboot to get Internet back...just very unreliable. Being candid it was kinda frustrating when you need reliable internet for work. I think the Winegard router itself is to blame or perhaps glitchy software. The BMPro integration basically just allows you to switch between 4G and WiFi repeater, but that intergration is extremely glitchy...most people can't get it to work (it'll hang on the log-in screen idefinitely basically). So when I did use it, I just used the Winegard interface directly via web browser. All that to say, a couple months back I discovered a replacement for the Winegard - the TravlFi JourneyXTR...and I have been 100% satisfied with it so far between the speeds, signal strength, and especially the price points on the data plans. Brinkley RV and Riverstone both picked it as OEM in their units, and that's how I heard about it. You may have seen the video I did on it already, but if not here it is: ua-cam.com/video/5ahb8oUdeo8/v-deo.html
My screen quit working after the 2nd year of owning it. Since it's constantly connected to a "charger" the battery swelled till the screen popped off. After disassembly it's a $35 dollar Chinese no name brand tablet. Jayco charged $500 to replace. I believe the module attached to it is to charge it and a quick function for lights and slide functions. I'll be trying an LG more modern tablet.
I hear you. I was actually surprised when I looked into swapping the OEM tablet with an aftermarket that the specs on the OEM tablet were actually halfway decent with 2GB of ram and a quad core processor. A lot of the aftermarket units in the $40 range have less ram and slower processors, or they have hacked operating systems that make the units appear to have more RAM and faster processor than reality. I was really surprised in the end, and that's why I decided to replace the battery in my OEM tablet and stick with that. Here's the video where I tried the aftermarket route: ua-cam.com/video/bK8FWiivxeQ/v-deo.html

My factory tablet has been replaced 3 times under warranty. They are not trying to make it better. They are trying to make it work until the warranty expires. The physical switches work perfectly. FYI, once we are out of warranty, the $20 tablet costs $700 to replace. Again, shame on you JAYCO !
Sorry to hear about the 3x replacements, that's frustrating for sure. Glad to hear they took care of you under warranty. I can say I learned a lot about the OEM tablet in the process of exploring options. You'll have to stay tuned for next week's video when I explore replacing it with an aftermarket one.
Great point. I was surprised when I looked at the actual specs on the OEM tablet...they are mostly mid-range for 7-in models, exceeding the specs on the cheap $40-$50 tablets on Amazon. Certainly they could have spent more $$ on the tablet though. Even another +$50 increase could get better specs including screen res...maybe they'll do an upgraded version soon?
I have a 2022 Jayco North Point. I will never understand why Jayco would go cheap on the tablet. I know it is about the money, but I don't get why Jayco would count on a $20 tablet to control a $100K RV. Jayco...you can do better.
