      You already check the auto rotate is on before you tilt landscape? You can lock once in landscape then.

      I believe the limit is 4 simultaneous bluetooth connections at a time on BMPRO system, so as long as you don't have more than 2 other phones connected, then the tablet acts as 4th device (1st = main tablet). Basically though same pairing procedure as your phone...then once it is paired it stays paired. I really liked having the 2nd tablet for ease of access in bedroom and redudancy.

    Great videos. Found you after googling issues with our only 2 year old tablet/controller. Do you know what the circuit board on the back of the tablet actually is used for? Could we not just put any android tablet in its place and connect to power?

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  3 місяці тому

      Great question. Yes, see this video for my attempt to put another android tablet:
      ua-cam.com/video/bK8FWiivxeQ/v-deo.html
      The circuit board is mainly for the hard-wired buttons and USB power on tablet so you can indeed use any tablet...the experience might not be the same.

    Hey, do you know how to power off the device if the camper isn't being used, but isn't really in "storage"? We are weekend warriors I guess you could say, but we only go maybe 2 times a month at max. We keep our camper here at the house and plugged into 50amp service, we keep both ACs set to 90 (here in TX they run all dang day almost), but we dont touch the RV for weeks sometimes. Every time I go in the screen is on. It would only make sense to turn it off, but can you? Does it need to be on to run the ACs or once you have the ACs on its ok for the tablet to be turned off.... thoughts?

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  Рік тому

      Yes, I think I understand the goal. Makes sense to prolong life of tablet. Since the node itself is what controls the AC, I don't see any issues in setting the desired AC temp on the tablet or your phone for tha matter, then powering off tablet and leaving as is. In fact I'm pretty sure you could always change later using phone and bluetooth since that is independent of tablet. You can power off tablet via paperclip in the small hole near the < button (see ua-cam.com/video/AWtvF7zCHSw/v-deo.html) ...then power off. There's a chance that with the tablet being plugged into power that technically it could power cycle on randomly, so if you really wanted to keep it off, then just pull from wall and disconnect the 4-pin harness (see ua-cam.com/video/7fFEkbqOi08/v-deo.html). You could try the less invasive power option first and just see how long it stays off that route...might be just fine. Hope this helps.

    Was it hard to add a new pad to make it work with node? How was it done?

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  9 місяців тому

      It was pretty easy and straightforward. Basically just like adding another phone since it's all Bluetooth. Then I just set up the tablet itself to make it more streamlined to run just the BM pro app by disabling other background running tasks.

    Based off of your recommendations, I just picked up a Lenovo M9. Any tips for getting the tablet-look version of the app as you show in your video? When I accessed the app on Google Play it only allows me to download the phone version which really only works with the tablet in portrait. I have a feeling that it also doesn't have all of the functionality of the tablet version/control panel version.

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  2 місяці тому +1

      Sure, glad to help troubleshoot. As far as I know there is only a single BMPRO app, or at least when I did mine that was the case. Is it possible the tablet is locked in the "portrait" mode with auto-rotate disabled? Otherwise it is certainly possibley they've updated the app or released two different ones? But if it helps to know I didn't have to modify anything as far as getting it to show landscape on mine.

    • @leeb834
      @leeb834 2 місяці тому +1

      @AdventureRocks Auto rotate is on. While I would like to have it in landscape mode, the portrait mode is growing on me. I have since mounted the tablet, using the same mount you purchased, near the bedside. Working like a champ. Thanks for the help and original idea.

    How does it pair and connect to the node? And how do you get the tablet to auto open/start the BMPro app?

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  Рік тому +1

      Yes, to pair the aftermarket tablet...after installing BMPRO app on tablet I used the arrows on main controller to get "PA" on screen and then pressed "EXT" which triggers the bluetooth pairing. Here's a link wit more detailed explanation:

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  Рік тому +1

      And, for the auto open/start...I did not attempt to set that up. I just put a short-cut on home screen there so I just open it when tablet powers on first time, otherwise once it is booted the app will stay open. Hope this helps!

      Sure thing! From the Google Play app store. Basically the second tablet is almost like adding another phone to the system, so same app that you get on your phone and essentially the same app that's on the original tablet too.

      @@seanwilkerson6454 The buttons should be entirely separate in function as they are hardwired via a "CAN-BUS" type setup to the node. So that could be indicative of a loose wire between buttons and node, or some other kind of odd malfunction with buttons or node. Might have to check connections first to rule out a loose wire.

    We have our camper at a seasonal campsite, so it's up and running at all times. The OEM tablet keeps disconnecting from the node and won't allow our cloud connection to function from our phones when away from the camper. I was wondering if you knew of a solution? If I clear the storage from the BMPro app and reconnect to the bluetooth and cloud connection, it'll stay connected for about a week or so and then fail again. I was thinking of adding a second tablet in hopes it would stay connected better than the OEM tablet, but I'm not sure if the second tablet would give me the same cloud connection as the OEM tablet. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

      ua-cam.com/video/ijA74QSBfWs/v-deo.html&si=ciCqa_DTyY5ql8IN
      If that doesn't solve problem and tablet is continuing to act glitchy, if the unit is 2 years old or more, it's possible the internal battery is going caput. Here's another video on that:

      I’ve gone through all of these steps and the tablet keeps losing connection and appears to be in a sleep mode. I have set it to never go to sleep, but here we are. My question is will another tablet serve as the main connection to the node allowing me to connect through the cloud to it and totally bypass the OEM tablet?

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  4 місяці тому

      @@69opee Unfortunately a 2nd tablet will not facilitate the cloud. Only the original OEM tablet can function as the cloud source...I tried, but there's something unique in the OS of the OEM tablet that makes it the cloud host. I'd say if your phone pairs fine and has no issues with node, then next step would be to try replacing battery inside the OEM tablet. But, if your phone is glitchy connecting to the node too, you might try other steps first such as completely clearing out the node BT pairings.

    I just got a new Jaycommand controller with bezel, I put is in and all works great, however the battery button on the top right does not show the % of battery level. I am wondering if it is charging. I am not sure where to look for to turn it on??

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  5 місяців тому

      Check under Settings > Battery for more details, but it should have a lightning bolt through battery if it is charging. Sometimes different versions/updates of Android change the appearance of the battery in the upper tray, and there are some settings that change how it is displayed as well.

      @@mrcrapshack6001 Could be...I do know that the amps going to the charger on tablet are quite low. I never got around to troubleshooting with the 4x wires there, but that sounds like potential culprit in your case. I guess if charging is the only issue, you could run dedicated power for sake of charging tablet...there are some nearby 12V leads in that area such as the 12V Jayco supplies for power on backup camera. Kinda a time consuming project to work on. Anyway, hope it goes smoothly.

      I don't think they sell direct to the public, but you might check and see if some of the Indiana surplus businesses sell them. I've seen them once in a while ago on eBay. You might have to buy them separately, but mainly you'll need the node where all the wires connect together and then potentially one of the hardwired bezels to put a tablet in. Otherwise, I heard that Firefly is coming out with a simple system that functions in a similar way.

It is powered from the inverter outlet down below the mattress so I don't have to revert power it. Nice that you can take yours off I don't think I'd need to with mine so it's secured permanently with double sided space tape. If you want to see what I did it's at 11:45 on my video.
