The very best review on maxspect! Salute! Which one do you think is best for my tank: - Maxspect RSX 200w or - 2pcs Maxspect Jump LED MJ-L165 Tank dimesions: 40 x 16 x 18 inches (LxWxH) 180 liters tank. I have mostly LPS and Zoanthids. Thanks in advance for your advice!
Absolutely love the look of maxpect jump range , might be because orange is my favourite colour lol look pretty cool be interesting to the reviews in a few months time 👍
Marine Depot published a blog post about it. If you're a heavy feeder or have a heavily stocked tank with a high-bioload, it's rated for 100 gallons. For a standard bioload, Maxspect says 185 gallons is the the sweet spot for high-performance waste removal. For a light bioload, you could effectively purge organic compounds from a 265 gallon saltwater aquarium.
Hello Jake. I noticed that you installed the Gyre magnet in your side-sump. Is the magnet water proof ? In my case I'm planning to install it on a wall that is also my overflow and this is my doubt not only with Gyre but with powerheads in general. Thanks for your wonderful videos.
Absolutely! In fact, the Maxspect JUMP DC Return pumps are already here. They made their North American debut 8 months ago! You don't see stores pushing them in their marketing very often because they sell out so fast! I was digging through our support tickets after watching this video because I was curious how many returns or reports of issues we receive (as the North American distributor, we also offer support to end users). I could only find one case and I don't even know the conclusion of it because the customer resolved it through their local store. So it seems that underneath that stylish exterior lies the heart of a rock-solid and reliable return pump. The lights, skimmer, and flow pumps will be available soon. I hear the Gyre JUMP is estimated to arrive in early September.
Ok so I have a question 1) when can I get these pumps 2) Where are they $160? $220 looks like the price on the few rando sites that do apparently sell them and 3) How do they differ from the IceCap 2k/4k pumps which look identical except the controller.
They will be available in September. I'm not sure what the retail price is yet. As far as how they differ from the 2K & 4K, I believe they are the same pump. The difference is in the controller. The IceCap controller has a lot more features: powers/controls 2 pumps on a single power supply, Bluetooth/WiFi control, mobile alerts, backward compatible with 1K & 3K, can be connected to 3rd-party aquarium controller, uses the HYDROS control platform, etc.). However, some hobbyists may not need or want all that. So this is a more budget-friendly alternative that allows you to use the same great pumps for less dough.
@@CoralVueTV Hey thanks a lot for getting back to me. With a lot of similar products out there, it often is hard to figure out what the differences are, and it's not like I can just buy them to see if I like them and return them like a Costco purchase. With a larger than "normal" tank and probably buying more than one pump in the future looks like the Icecap may be the way to go.
I really want this light! Where can I find it in america? I read your review and yhought you said it did iny have red or green but the back of the box says it does Someone called dutch reefer was sent these by maxspect and his review shows it on back and he says uses Cree. Do you know for sure if it uses cree? I was about to get the razor because it had all these colors. 3 blues and 2 uv and violet 2 white red and cyan, Very similar spectrum to radion as well but hate to pay that kind of money but even though the spectrum is close and uses cree do you think these lights can produce the type of pop as radion? Didnt seem to from what i could tell but the camera angle was really bad and from the side and dont know if you got to tweak the colors. If it has that spectrum and uses cree then why wouldnt it pop more? Dutch reefers clown fish was glowing orange so maybe its setting. I have thought about radions for my 36 gallon bowfront but my fear is i will have to turn them down so much that I may get washed out color but being this is only 65 might be a better fit if I get two of these and even still its more power than I need. Also like the ufo by zetlights spectrum on the 83oo but having a hard time finding that and they changed the new model to z8 and changed the dense matrix style with a quartz lens, razor but dont like it being on legs,, noopsyche but dosnt quite have spectrum like cyan but has all the other colors and looks nice but also 90 watts found a cheap cobalt cray for 300.00 bucks supposly slightly used. Pretty bad ass with the moonlights. If the red sea had red and green then that would ba a good low wattage option and the prime but that so small an impressive looking. So which ever I can find tonight I am getting! I guess top two would be this and ufo . I am thinking of moving the lights to a 120 ina bout ayear so one of he reasons I was looking at higher power but if its going to be washed out from being tuned down so low, then I would lkike this or ufo, oh ufo is 90 watts. Hopefully you can tell me where to get these! Sorry for rambling I am totally sleep deprived from looking at lights for over 24 ours straight! lol Oh I love the illumagic blaze but so thick and only 24 inches long! so would have 3 open inches on each side, plus have to buy the mounts as well!

I have the jump gyre mj-gf2k its a great pump. I was fed up of buying jebao wave makers and them breaking down on me save you're money and buy a decent pump straight away.
The SK400 is rated for 100-265 gallon depends on the bio-load of the tank, for more detail please visit our website www.maxspect.com - the skimmer is going to be available in the States in Q3 this year.
Awesome product just wish Maxspect would put a price control in place with the hectic ZAR Dollar exchange coupled with utter greed from the LFS I just about had to take out a second mortgage lol was worth it can't wait to get the other products available in South Africa MOST IMPORTANT TGANKS FOR A REALLY AWESOME CHANNEL DUDE'S
I believe the other two settings on the Gyre are a ramp up to the percentage you configure and a random flow rate. All of these move in the same direction. The last setting is the one that allows for a reverse flow. 1. A steady increase/Ramp up (ie. if you set a max of 60%, it will start at 10% and work up to the 60%), 2. Random flow, the flow rate is dependent on the max percentage you set (ie. if you set a max of 60%, it will choose a random flow rate between 10% and 60% and keep it at the flow rate depending on duration settings before switching to another flow rate) 3. Continuous 4. Forward/Reverse flow

Maxspect not only licenses their Gyre technology to other brands like IceCap and Red Sea, but they also manufacturer it all. The 2K & 4K Gyres are essentially JUMP pumps, but rather than stick with the updated manual controller, they're licensing the HYDROS brand for their Gyre Dual Pump WiFi Controller. It's definitely more feature-rich with cloud-based control, backward compatibility with the1K & 3K, and third-party controllable via the 0-10V port. But I think it's worked out beautifully because some hobbyists missed have a manual feed button and not having to use an app to adjust flow settings. Now there will be different control options for basically the same pumps. Consumers won on this one for sure.
I'm confused about this "jump" line. Is this just rehashes of older products they have had? I mean the Jump Gyre vs the 350 model? Is this just a 100 series one with all the problems associated with it? What's the difference. Interesting to see that LED light, because I was really interested in the Ethereal lights way back when but quite literally no one reviewed it or compared it, guess that shows what throwing money at the machine does... Radions, AI Primes, and Kessil lights get reviewed by everyone, other lights, well you're lucky.
The Jump Gyre pumps are not rehash of Gyre XF100. The Jump GF-2K/4K Gyre pumps are all new design and built based on a similar infrastructure that we used for our XF300 series. Both the Gyre XF300 and Jump GF line represents our years of experience and latest Gyre Flow technology combined, such as Sine-Wave technology with near-silent operation and more. The Gyre XF300 offers more functionality (such as app control and linking up multiple pumps) and flow rate over the Jump GF, for more detail please visit our website www.maxspect.com
They aren't rehashes. They are just more affordable versions of the Gyre. The last-gen versions were licensed by IceCap and marketed in the US as the 1K and 3K respectively. This time, IceCap licensed what are essentially the JUMP pumps-now quieter, better built, and more power than their predecessors-and launched them in the US as the 2K & 4K. The IceCap pumps come with a "better" (it's all relative, right?) controller... it powers 2 pumps, sends mobile alerts if your pumps go offline, etc. ... but many hobbyists don't want or need all that Hi-Tech hooey. CoralVue, as distributor of both brands, wisely saw an opportunity to serve two different market segments with the same pump. But Maxspect has done an impressive job all on their own by developing this new JUMP line: which isn't the highest tech-more like medium-tech-but it is high-performance for a lower cost from a brand people reef hobbyists respect as an innovator.
@@Reefluencer Thanks for the response my man, it's much more details than the "corporate response" which tells more about what's good about it, instead of saying what's different. And ultimately it looks like if you're only going to have 1 pump it's a good deal, but if you're going to have 2 pumps not so much, because with the 300 series you don't need a second controller so the cost of 2 actually is in line with the Jump series.

So that's how many generations of gyre pump within the span of just a few years? And are any of them backward compatible? I bought my xf230 just 2 years ago thinking I would buy a second pump when I was ready. By the time I was, Maxspect had left me in the dust. Avoid Maxspect.
The Gyre XF300 Series was launched 1.5 years ago by the end of 2018. The Jump line we are launching now is going to be listed concurrently with the XF300 line, as they are targeted towards different sector of the Gyre flow pump market.
Orange propellers on the gyres stick out like a sore thumb. Most people want pumps to blend in with the tank so I don't understand why orange was selected. Would not buy.
If they are mounted to the sides of your tank, it's barely noticeable. Mounted on the back wall of your tank might call more attention to them, so you might want to throw on the black ones in that application.
