Excited to see these....I'd been considering trying them recently too...I mean hell....they definitely look better than some BB leds and those work so....haha I expect them to be pretty dope
I like this series, I am in the process of setting up a 105 Neptunian cube L90 shallow reef - def will look into these lights, I was humming and hawing but here in Canada an XR15 G6 costs $700 - budget builds are great as long as they produce results, I am going to be mainly focusing on Epicystis crucifer (Rock flower anemones) again not cheap here in Canada I have about 14 so far in a 35 gallon running only a Spectra LED - similar but smaller and they have grown exponentially in 2 years, they even all started spawning the day after Valentin's - looking fwd to seeing what results you get and plan on a tank launch in June 2023.
I have a few Nicrew strip lights over a freshwater system. Been running them a few years and have never had a problem. Decent quality in my experience. For the money, this is hard to beat and I'd consider using these in a new build. I have all the usual suspects for now; Radions, ReefBrites, Kessils, even Phillips CCG2's on the farm system. TBH, everything grows coral with the right PAR, spectrum and spread. Most LED's get this done these days. Just a matter of the look you want and how much money you want to throw away. I don't see myself dropping Gs on lighting again. No need. Thanks for the 411.
I been eyeing these lights. Finally a video about them. Like your idea on the bracket. Maybe black would be a better color. Guess you can paint your bracket. Nice job looking at par reading.
Do you think one of these 150 W fixtures would be enough for a 60 gal cube (24"x24"x24")? My goal is a mixed reef, mostly zoas, softies, and some euphyllia or other LPS).
I’m starting my first frag tank and want to go budget lighting, I’ve been trying to decide between Vipaspectra or this. Still not totally sure but from what you showed me I think I may dunk the extra $30 and go for these. Great video👍
FYI, if you get a Kessil controller by shipping error, it does in fact work it's just that the unit is power hungry and won't accept low power wall warts, or pc ports.
You have inspired me I been just following you and waiting. I have two low boys just waiting for lights. Thank you for all u do for us. My question is sense I think the 150 may be over kill u think 2 100s will be good enough and can you make a mount like u did the 150 for the 100. Thank u again.
I have these lights and I love them. I am looking at buying your 3D printed mounths, but I'd like to know the height of them. I'm building a shelf and i want to know how low they'll hang down from the shelf above the tank
The light is a beast. I prefer it over my previous 2 AI Primes. I love how quiet it is too, the Primes were jet engines. Looking forward to the PAR data!
Have you had any of the power adapters burn out on you? I did less than 10months. Customer’s service is pretty good but I guess they upgraded the power adapter from the 24v to the 27v.
Do you think 1 of those Nicrew 150's will be good over a 3'L x 18''W x 24"H 65gallon? I'm definitely going to grab one, just don't know if 1 will give me the coverage I need. Being as they advertised it as 24"x24" coverage
Hey Travis thanks for the video . I got the same lights . Using the mount the screws are in y he water. Though plastic the thread is metal . Reef safe ? Or should I find another mounting solution?
your issue with hanging mounts is simple brother. It's your military ingrained need for things to be dress right dress. Same sort of thing bothers me lol
To clarify your comment, you wont be able to control the light with your Apex. You would only be able to turn it on and off. No spectrum control. I'm sure that's what you meant, but don't want others to get the impression there's any more than that without the controller.
I would disagree, i control this lights with my Apex using 3.5mm to RJ45 cable into the Apex brain. I can adjust the light intensity 3% to 100%. This allows me to ramp up and down. There's an input and output on each light. It goes from the 3.5mm output to RJ45. The Apex recognizes them right away.
I had a 50 and a 150, not impressed. the 50 only drew 14 watts and the 150 drew 42 watts. only a third of their advertised wattage. I'd love if you can test wattage as well as par.

These are great lights! Switched to them 6 months ago.

Looks good.

3 inches
I have used only Nicrew and they do grow coral and stand by them for the price of Nicrew lights. They have lasted for a couple of years.

Only had one go out
@@FishOfHex how did you find a replacement?

You need 2
I'd do two
How is that white light from the fuge not going to bleed over into the other lowboy?
How can I order some mounts from you? I need to figure out a solution for inside of my canopy. I have an idea or two.

I have a 125 acro dominant tank. I'm currently running t5 lights. Do you think these would work on my tank, and do you think I would only need 2?
Two or 3 depending on length
Wow can’t believe I’m the first view! Nice video!

Looks to be plastic. If it is metal it's probably stainless and you don't need to worry. Double check for rust
Do these lights give a shimmer?
your issue with hanging mounts is simple brother. It's your military ingrained need for things to be dress right dress. Same sort of thing bothers me lol
Do you have any mounts for reefbrites/orphek bar?
do you know if the nicrew controller works with kessil lights?
Not sure have tried
If You built a reflector for those I will buy
That is the exact same controller for kessill
Can you set these on a timer and it maintain the color settings?
Haven't tried that yet
You mean where the XR15s that died after just 3 years were....

@@Mangeeknetwork you're describing dimming. That's not spectrum control. Pretty neat regardless.
